As an ex-tour guide, I take a lot of time making sure this is up-to-date so you don't miss out on any of the incredible things the Big Island has to offer. Here is what some of our guests are saying about #24: #24 exceeded expectations. It was a perfect place for a quiet get away. Sue and Peter's attention to detail made it all the more comfortable and all of the holiday accessories needed were there. We would love to return. Jolene Mar 2015 Sue was a great communicator and sent us all the information in an easily digestible manner. Her place was a wonderful getaway with a beautiful view of the ocean over the golf course as shown in the pictures. She also provided great information about visiting the different sights on the island as well as books/resources that we were able to use. Would highly recommend her place if you're looking to "get away from it all"! Joy Jan 2015 My brother enjoyed #24 in its entirety (clean, spacious, stylish, locale, well stocked.) Eileen M LA, CA Mar '14 We had a FANTASTIC time at your home! - haven't yet stopped looking at our holiday pictures. This was the first time we have rented a condo in this manner, and I have to said everything from searching the internet site, to communicating with you via email, to paying via paypal, and finding your home so complete, cozy, inviting inside and out made our holiday great. Your home was exactly as the internet pictures presented it to be and your location in the complex was spectacular - morning coffee on the balcony, watching the ocean waves and palm trees sway, and listening to the numerous birds was paradise. We thought we received excellent value for money spent. The layout of your home was very comfortable and homey. I was pleasantly surprised to find so many extras - completely stocked kitchen and bathroom, books and maps to help us plan our daily adventures and books and movies to relax with - so thoughtful and kind of you. Loved the hawaii/ turtle decor. What we like most about our stay was your home - it was the perfect location, both on the island and in the colony complex. Private, secluded but close to a variety of adventures in the Volcano Park, eastern tip of the island and south point area. We truly had a wonderful time in Hawaii and your home was the focal point to allow us to enjoy each day so thoroughly. Memories from our time there will be everlasting, always heart-warming and I thank you for sharing your home so graciously. Connie & Al, Canada - Mar 09 The process of renting your unit was extremely easy and it was great value. The prior to arrival email provided us with the right amount of detail and directions to shopping and then on the unit. We enjoyed the book you put together about the sites on the island and used it to make decisions about what to see. The unit was exactly as described and shown on the website, inside and out. The view was wonderful and the complex is very quiet and relaxing. Rick & Carol, San Diego - Jun 07 We had a great time and #24 greatly added to our enjoyment! The location was quiet and isolated...we wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again!! Paul, San Lorenzo, CA - April 07 Just wanted to say thanks for use of your condo, it was beautiful!! Really nice interior and the view was great. I have stayed at other units there and yours was by far the nicest!! Will definitely contact you next time I go over. Named for the spring on the land, Waiola (Water of Life) is a romantic hideaway, a peaceful retreat, an artist's getaway or a perfect stay-cation. Stone walls, taro lo`i (the garden plot that taro was grown in), a trail, and a stone house site from ka wā kahiko (ancient times) tell the story of the Hawaiians of old who lived here and worked the land. Waiola sits above a six-acre pasture with an `ōhi`a lehua forest as backdrop. The lehua is the flower of Hawai`i Island and is honored in both song and chant. • Beautiful newly remodeled 2 bed/2 bath condo near the Black Sand Beach & golf.

Beautiful condo with excellent ocean views from the downstairs lanai and also the upstairs master suite. The grounds are beautifully manicured & provide a pool, hot tub & BBQ''s for your enjoyment. There is a tennis court across the street & golf is just around the corner. This property is located half way between Hilo and Kona making it easy to travel and see all the things on both sides of the Island. Volcano National Park is only 30 minutes away. The area is remote with 90 miles of undeveloped coast line in the Kau District. Near by towns of Na'alehu & Ocean View have grocery stores and restaurants. There are farmer's markets in Na'alehu & Hilo on Wednesdays & Saturdays. Kona also has farmer's markets. Fresh fruits, vegetables, locally grown and roasted coffee and artisan crafts await you at the local farmer's markets. Take a short walk to the Black Sand Beach and you can watch the green sea turtles frolic in the ocean or warm themselves on the sand. South Point and the Green Sand Beach are about a 25 minute drive. At South Point you can watch the fishermen and also see the more adventurous jump off the cliff into the ocean. A 2 mile walk will reward you with the sight of the Green Sand Beach. The path there is very rough and not recommended for vehicles. However, there are some people who have trucks and jeeps who will drive you there for a minimal fee. A visit to Volcano National Park is a must. We suggest visiting during the day to explore the park and walk through the lava tubes and then stay until dark to experience the beauty of the glowing volcano. Volcano House (a hotel, restaurant, bar & gift shop) turns 'lights out' after dark to you can view the glowing of the volcano. There is also a visitors center you can go to and be up close & personal with the volcano. There is such a wide variety of things to do, everyone will be pleased. A wonderful place to stop between Kona and Hilo or the volcano, or to stop and stay longer for a relaxing time away from the crowds and noise. The bungalow is ideal for 2 people. There is a queen size bed, (shown in the pictures) with a pillowtop mattress. Hibiscus Bungalow has been created with a unique eclectic style giving it a retro tropical feeling. Beautiful tropical woods have been used extensively in the details. The kitchen has a 7’ long bar made from a 2” thick lychee wood slab with a live edge, the bathroom contains a 7’ long vanity made of avocado wood, all the windowsills are mango or lychee wood and the 10’ wide lanai facing the ocean is faced with mango wood.
