We booked this condo as a more affordable stay for the second half of our honeymoon and regret it. The only redeeming quality about the condo was the view (which was great, although it did overlook what appeared to be a homeless encampment in front of an abandoned restaurant next to the beach, as well as a main highway to the right). The beach itself was nice but we read it was not great for swimming so chose to spend our time at other beaches. Everything else was subpar for the cost. Below is a list of what we found disappointing: - Kitchen did not feel fully equipped (e.g., there was limited tupperware, and some with no lids; no metal or plastic mixing bowls, only wood; teflon pans were flaking)- Knives were so dull it's dangerous- It was clear the condo had not been thoroughly cleaned in a long time (lots of dirt and dust in between the fridge and counter spaces, and underneath the kitchen counters). Any cleaning done prior to our stay was surface-level as we found bacon and other food crumbs on the kitchen floor.- Overall the condo smelled like mildew and despite the ocean view and deck, lacked much ventilation.- The bathroom tub had what looked like black mold in it.- A/C in bedroom was so loud that we needed earplugs to sleep.- Condo bedroom has view of Shell gas station, not the most romantic or private location.- The bed needs to be replaced. It was so uncomfortably hard we were unable to sleep for several nights in a row. This put a huge damper on our trip.
We had a great time in Kauai, and this property was wonderful for us. My only complaint is that it was extremely hot inside the unit during the day. We chose this place because it said it had AC, but it was only in the bedroom. Luckily, we located several fans throughout the unit and we weren’t there much during the day. Despite that, the location was great, and the view was breathtaking. We would definitely recommend this place to others traveling to Kauai.
The place was clean and comfortable. The view when you wake up is spectacular. The location is wonderful for a first time visit to the Island. We would definitely stay again.Only downside is the homeless on the beach.
The view is even better than photos indicate. The sound of the ocean is a pleasant constant and the waves, surfers and fishermen/women are often active in the area. The waves while we were there were very big so there was a lot of action on the water. The pool is convenient, well kept and gets direct sunlight. The free parking is close and terrific. The property is close to many great restaurants and shops, walking trails along the ocean in both directions, public beaches and close to the airport (you can see the planes taking off and landing). We met some of the full time owners/residents while at the pool, and learned about the history of the property and surrounding area. This was the earliest fall/winter visit we've made to Kaua'i and missed seeing the whales we would see in December, January and February, but did see large turtles sunning on the beaches of Poipu. The weather was ideal every day we were at this property and that made it easy to go to the beaches, sit by the pool and explore the area further. Thanks for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Mahalo.
My wife and I stayed here for 11 nights, first we noticed that there were chocolates and snacks for us with Hawaiian music playing for our arrival. We noticed that the bedroom was the only room that had air conditioning, we were under the impression it was central air conditioning due to the listing having it listed as central air conditioning. I contacted the management company for the property, advised them of the air conditioner being in the bedroom only, and the listing stated central air conditioning, they immediately replied back, and gave my wife and I a partial refund for the “loss of amenity”. This was a very good experience as far as how that was handled. At first glance everything looked fairly clean, I was asked to rate them on the cleaning and rated a 4/5, as my wife and I grabbed plates and started to use utensils we noticed that every other dish and or utensils were filthy. I contacted the company again just to let them know and again, they were extremely responsive. During the whole stay it was an average experience, the beach chairs and umbrella were awesome to have, the lanai was amazing for the views and sitting outside listening and watching waves as well as people fishing and surfing! The bed was uncomfortable as it leans to the left as you lay on your back, not unbearable, but still uncomfortable and takes a few nights to get used to. The living room is always hot, and the whole stay was average.
Keyless entry was so easy to use throughout our stay. The basket of coffee, chocolates and granola bars was a thoughtful touch. We love staying in smaller properties and this was perfect. 100 yards from fresh malasadas, close to restaurants, shopping, and beaches. Never tired of watching the unobstructed ocean view of Wailua Bay from sunset to saying goodnight to the moon and stars.
Bed was difficult to sleep in, dips to the left. Uncomfortably hot in main area at night. Property itself was just ok.
The beach and the ocean are better than cable TV
The views from the lanai and cross breezes were spectacular. The condo was as advertised. We stayed on the north side during a prior visit and found this more central east side location to be much more convenient. Lots of places within walking distance and we appreciated that very comfortable beach chairs and a cooler were available.
The view and sounds of the ocean were great. Location is central to Island sites.
A perfect place to relax and enjoy the ocean.
We had a fantastic time at this condo. The location was awesome! The view from the lanai was beautiful and you could hear the surf through the screened in door. Property / grounds is on the smaller side and we loved that. Nice small pool that was clean and we really had it to ourselves when we went for late afternoon swims. 2 very clean grills too. Short walk or quick ride down the block to the Coconut Mall made finding a variety of food, gifts, etc.. easy. We loved Bobby Vs Italian for drinks, good pizza, and Hukilau Lanai restaurant for an upscale dinner; as well as Lava Lava for drinks and aps. Lydgate Beach Park 5 min drive away. Great free beach with lots of space for picnics, etc.. We drove all around Kauai from the Northern portions Princeville to the Canyons on the west and all places in between. This condo is a great home base for day trips! We did a cruise along the Nai Pali coast that included snorkeling that launched about 50 mins away. The boat ride itself was well worth it! Blue Dolphin for good crew/line. Saw TONS of dolphin pods, some whales and some sea turtles. We had our eye on several condos in this area and are SO GLAD we picked this one. We couldn't have asked for a better spot. It is clean, has everything you need and even has AC in the bedroom which made sleeping nice. Convenience store across the street for quick needs. We travel with sound (white noise) machine and needed it to block out the road noise. TWO THUMBS UP!!
