Large, well-equipped apartment with new, modern and clean appliances (fridge, washing machine, dryer). Very large balcony with nice seating, two bedrooms with air conditioning and two bathrooms, very large kitchen with modern ceramic hob and microwave, dishwasher, oven and plenty of accessories. Modern large flat screen TV with entertainment system. Underground parking. Perfect for our needs! We felt very comfortable. Not cheap, but you get a fair price-performance ratio! We will probably come back...
Very convenient location. If you are going to be on the go this is perfect! Comfortable and clean.
Our bedroom had lots of tiny bugs which flew at times. Text the property management and they did nothing about it. Had to close my luggage every time I took out something to make they did not get in. Did not get much sleep each night due to bugs.
We enjoyed this space and it made it easy to walk to everything in town. Communication was great with the managers.
Absolutely loved the convenience of the location for attending a wedding at Hulihe'e Palace. Was also wonderful for the walkability to all the restaurants and sites on Alii Dr.
The unit was comfortably furnished with an island vibe. Lots of extras - beach equipment, cooler, beach towels, etc. We'll equipped kitchen. The unit was very quiet. It would be more comfortable with better air conditioning.
Called management company about one of the ceiling fans not working, they said they would send someone to check it out, but this never happened.
We would definitely consider staying here again
This property is in a run down area in downtown Kailua Kona with lots of homeless people and boarded up buildings. Not enough space here to describe all the disgusting things we saw from the lanai. The unit itself would be ok if it had air conditioning. The air conditioning in the bedrooms is loud and right next to the bed which made it hard to sleep. Plus not having air conditioning in the rest of the unit was miserable at times. Parking was a bit of an issue as the basement parking garage is more than 50% blocked off by what appears to be temporary support for the building. Plus, during the day, the elevator doesn't take you down to the parking garage so you just have to walk down the car ramp to get your car. I loved the Big Island but I would never stay in this area again.
This is the third time we stayed at Kona Plaza (first time in this unit) as the location is great and the condos are always clean. Despite specifically booking this unit, which was advertised as having air conditioning, we arrived to find that the air conditioner was inoperable and there were only portable units in each bedroom. These units failed to effectively cool down anything past the bedrooms, which made it quite uncomfortable for us to enjoy the other areas of the condo during our stay. For what we paid this was unacceptable.
Very nice unit. Great location. Can walk to everything in town. Would stay here again
The condo was stocked like a home away from home. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of closet space in both rooms. The lanai is very large overlooking the pool and the back alley. At first we were disappointed with the view from the lanai but ended up enjoying it. The lanai is screened making this a very large extension to the main part of the condo. This condo is perfectly situated to the heart of Kona and all the attractions. The deck doors to the lanai did not lock but we felt safe as we were on the 3rd floor. Negative comments. This condo does not come with an in suite safe. The parking is a problem especially with the construction work being done both outside and in the parking garage (which is where we were told to park). Parking is included with the condo yet we had to pay for overnight parking ($65). I tried several times to address this situation and to be reimbursed but my calls were never returned regarding the parking. This was very disappointing as we were nervous to drive anywhere as we didn’t want to lose our parking spot and having to pay for parking. If parking is included with the rate then assigned parking should be given - this is an issue that should be considered before staying at this location. Paid parking is VERY expensive and the management team refused to address or to refund. Rental vehicles are very expensive to stay parked due to parking spots. The elevator near our condo quit working causing some hardship.
The interior of the property was clean and communication with management was easy. The unit itself was very dark in terms of lighting and the decor feels outdated. The two portable AC units in the bedrooms are very loud and would not work until we cleaned their filters at 3 in the morning. Because of this we did not get the best sleep during our stay here. The location is great and it is easy to walk to local restaurants and stores.
Great location in downtown Kona, close to everything. Easy parking. Everything you’d need in the condo and then some! Only downsides were the ac was broken so there were portable AC units that would make your room freezing and the rest of the condo warm. The rooms were a little cramped and hard to walk around the bed but the living space was roomy! The lanai was beautiful! Does over look an alley. There was a car parked outside the complex with people living in it… but they didn’t bother us. Also with the window AC units I wish the windows felt more secure. Pool was beautiful, everyone was welcoming and quiet! Would stay here again in a heart beat!
