This was by far the very best place to stay near Poipu Beach. Completely ocean front we could watch surfers from our lanai and hear the waves crashing. The host was very responsive and all accommodations were great :-) also very conveniently located to several beaches. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you so much!!
Beautiful ocean view, overall a lovely property. I'd have given it a 5, but 2 fans, one in the bathroom and the other in the bedroom were extremely noisy. The smaller bedroom doesn't get good circulation, like the master, so the use of that fan would have been appreciated, but was impossible to sleep through. The bathroom fan was so bad, and attached to the light switch so impossible to turn off if you wanted light, that I showered in the dark.
great to hear the ocean while falling asleep in the bedroom watch the sun rise from the Lani walk over to the Beachhouse Restaruant to watch the sunset, take a walk to swim in the ocean and then repeat all of the above the next day
This condo was in an excellent neighborhood. Very safe for walking and very close to stores, restaurants, etc. There were beaches on each side of the condo complex for swimming and snorkeling. The condo itself was clean and well equipped with a retro vibe, sort of like a 70s vibe in terms of decor. The shared laundry facilities are very close - just down the hallway. Definitely can’t beat the views.
The view was spectacular. The waves were mesmerizing. Sunrise & sunset every day. All as good or better than advertised.The kitchen, while not gourmet, was far better than many other vacation rentals we have visited.The bed was comfort.Our main concern was the quality of the furniture. Being in our 70’s, we have some aches and pains that required pillows & cushions for extra support. This should not be a concern for younger, fitter guests.Overall, a pleasant stay priced appropriately.
Very beautiful home with views that will take your breath away. The only thing that prevented me from giving this property 5 stars is that both beds in the downstairs bedrooms were extremely hard and uncomfortable. The master bed was great, as was everything else. Just as advertised.
Great view and location. Very clean unit will all supplies needed. The wall A/C units need instructions. Could not keep it cool at night with the units stopping-had to throw the breaker every time to reset. Remotes did not work well. Sofa needs replacing as well as the mattresss in the master.

Great location, right on the water. We saw a sea turtle from the lanai. Well equipped unit, better than most. We were glad to have the beach chairs, umbrella and cooler available.

If I could do a .5 with my rating, this condo would be a 4.5. I made it a 5 because of the exceptional help we received from the manager and Albert who is the condo building manager. They made up the difference with their help. For one, they responded quickly to getting our AC working on the second day. We were amazed to have a technician in the condo within a few hours. He got it going and helped us understand how to use it. Even though it was January, we had some days in the low to mid '80s. In our case the AC was necessary. This is a very spacious, comfortable condo. The view of the ocean is great, but we did not see whales, turtles or other sea life. It's probably not the best location for that. It is walking distance to eateries, and beaches with turtles.. When I rate a condo a 5, I have a spiffy factor. I agree with another reviewer that the condo needs some TLC to spruce it up. Also, there are a lot of locked cupboards and only one drawer available for use in the guest bathroom. I also think potential renters should understand that the master bathroom is literally the sink and a toilet in a small side room, with no vanity. The master shower is not in a separate room. The entrance to the shower is next to the bed. A big positive was that we didn't see bugs in the condo at all.

Cons: contacted property manager and others upon arrival because we couldn’t figure out air conditioning and received no response. Luckily, we figured it out. We learned we couldn’t return after 9 at night and expect a parking spot in the lot. I think people attending celebrations at The Beach House next door were parking in the lot.

I didn’t realize until we began watching- turtle activity all day long, surfers to the left side and at times could see bright yellow and other large fish just off a few feet away from the black lava stone/ tidal pool. Snorkeling activity, saw some dolphins. This was a quiet clean property with a very friendly manager! The only noise we heard were the waves crashing to the shore. This was such a peaceful week we spent. The trade winds were fabulous, just needed the a/c at night for sleeping. The kitchen was loaded with pots, pans, dish’s, silverware and you were never far from a perfect view of the ocean. I even watched surfers from the guest bath mirror as I was getting ready. How much fun, close to great shopping, restaurants and gorgeous beauty. We visited the south shore, Waimea, Poipu, Koloa quaint town and food trucks, Malama Huleia Project restoring the fish pond was so interesting to read about and visit! We highly recommend this property for a small group! Thanks to the owners! What a gem you own!

Celebrating our 20th anniversary, we returned to Kauai. In prior visits, we stayed in Lihue, but on our last visit in 2018, we found ourselves driving over to the Poipu area almost on a daily basis. We knew then that when we returned, we wanted to try to stay in Poipu. We were also excited to share the trip experience with our 14-year-old daughter as it would be her first trip to Hawaii. My mom was also joining us for the trip, so it was important for us to find a place that worked for us as a family. This amazing condo at Kuhio Shores was phenomenal. The view is absolutely breathtaking. You're literally on the edge of the ocean and it just doesn't get any better than that. The kitchen had just about everything you could possibly need to enjoy staying in and preparing meals: a spacious refrigerator, dishwasher, sink (with dishwashing soap!), toaster, electric kettle, coffee pot/single serve Keurig, pots and pans of all sizes, nice cooking utensils, cutlery, dishes ... seriously, you name it, it was there! The fact that so much care has gone into this condo to make it feel like a home away from home really made it a wonderful experience. The bedding and furniture were comfortable. If we weren't sleeping, we were either out exploring or sitting on the balcony. The laundry room was easy to access, parking was readily available, elevator or a quick flight of stairs to the 3rd floor was no problem. It was an incredible stay! I hope to rent here again when we're able to return!
Beautiful view of the ocean as advertised - very friendly and calm condo complex. Easy access to both west and east shore activities and sight seeing. More beach towels would be helpful for a family of four. You can’t go wrong with this place as it is very enjoyable and scenic.

To sit on your patio and watch sea turtles and surfers, it was just amazing. The location was great , not just view, but walkable to some great restaurants and shops. Good starting point for the whole island experience. This was truly a once in a lifetime experience and I would love to come back.

Walking distance to all different types of amenities and beach access. I will definitely be bringing my little family next time.❤️

The location of this property was not bad - easy to get to everything. It was not a 'bad' stay but there were some things that would prevent me from renting there again. The view of the ocean is nice but to get the view from the photo you have to stand in the corner of the porch and look to the side. The outdoor seating was just two chairs and a table that were too short to see over the railing - higher chairs would have been nice. The condo unit is kinda 'tucked in' from the building, that is just the design of the building, but unless the breeze is coming directly from the ocean it is tough to feel that, which was a bummer. There are AC units in every room but it's not the same as an awesome ocean breeze. The unit was mostly clean but lots of dust on the lighting fixtures - looked like they've never been touched actually. The room with the king bed really needs a dresser that is not in the closet - it would be more practical, and give you more hanging space in the closet. Also, the right side of the king bed is very, very soft, maybe the mattress is old or broken, but it sagged so badly my back was killing me the first day. I moved to the left side and that was better thankfully. My mom slept fine in the other bed and had no complaints about that one. Overall, I'm sorry to say, it did not feel comfortable to me and I was disappointed. Again, it's not a 'bad' place, just not what I expected.
