After witnessing the traffic from the airport we did not venture back towards Honolulu and almost daily enjoyed the poke selection at Foodland! We had a terrific time at your beach house. It was perfect for our family. Although the beach in front had too much wave action for our 6 and 3 year old granddaughters we just walked down to Three Tables and they had a terrific time. It was all that I could hope for! Everybody's talking about "next time".

It looks and feels like a postcard as the views and setting are breathtaking. The host and property manager made it very easy to arrive and settle in. The North Shore is full of many things to do such as hiking, biking, snorkeling, eating out - casual and more upscale - which are literally just outside the door so the convenience was wonderful. A few insights as we are from Hawaii and travel and stay there regularly—the property has cameras everywhere outside for safety and security of the home in a pristine location- so we just had to adjust to knowing we were being filmed. There are also homeless people living in their cars and on the streets of the beautiful homes/ neighborhoods on the beach. This is a reality in Hawaii and as a vacationer you just need to be aware. Specific to the house, it is well outfitted and in our 10 days we did a fair amount of grilling and cooking. The staples provided were appreciated. On the AC: because it is only in the bedrooms it works to keep you cool during the evenings/night and we worked out putting shades down in the hotter afternoons to help keep it cooler in main room, but had to adjust expectations bc we couldn’t hang out and play games, watch movies etc. in evenings bc it is just too hot - even with cross breeze. The deck provides an option so we pivoted and gazed at the stars and made smores in the firepit! We also took advantage of the picturesque view during the day and lazed beneath the coconut trees. The Sunset Beach House had everything we needed for our family reunion. It felt like a home away from home with comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen and baths and plenty of privacy. Having direct access to the beautiful beach gave us ocean views that I will remember for a lifetime. We saw humpback whales many times breaching directly in front of our deck!The location was perfect to explore the north shore, Hale’iwa and the many surf spots. Having foodland so close made getting supplies so easy. Thank you Michel for sharing your piece of paradise with us!

The location of the property was the best thing about it. To be able to walk out onto the sand straight from the steps of the house was wonderful. There were adequate towels, toilet paper, and beds (for our bigger group,) and those are all things we've seen insufficient in other VRBO's we've used. We appreciated the beach accessories that were available. The kitchen was satisfactory for the little bit of cooking we did, and the bathrooms were clean. The home itself is very dated and the furniture is old and worn. The couches aren't very comfortable. Overall the dated and worn furniture in the living room gave the appearance of it not feeling very clean. But the sheets and towels were very clean. Every morning at 4:30, roosters crowed, waking us all up. That was kind of a bummer while on vacation. The one time I had to call the property manager, he answered and handled the issue immediately. We loved the back deck that overlooked the sand and waves. We also enjoyed the spa. The volleyball area wasn't really usable for us.....it's not well kept and again, looked quite worn and dated. Overall, the location, accessibility to the beach, the spa, and ease of communication were outstanding. The home is unique, but some updating of couches and some surface areas would make it feel a little more clean and comfortable.
We had the best 7 night stay. The property, location, and views were absolutely amazing. We enjoyed the hot tub, the spacious kitchen and the deck for our dinners daily. 10/10 stay, great host, easy instructions, cozy and spacious environment for 6 adults and 2 young children. Would recommend!

We haven't stopped talking about how wonderful our stay was at The Beach House. Michel's home is the perfect place for a North Shore experience. The house was incredibly clean, well appointed and located at the best spot on the beach. Don't miss this opportunity to experience Hawaii in a home designed for the island. Watching sunsets from the back deck was stunning. We would highly recommend Michel and his home!
We spent 2 wonderful weeks in Hawaii. The house is perfectly located on Sunset Beach and you have a perfect view and bathing experience. The Northshore area is very beautiful and not as crowded as in Honolulu. The house is equipped with a full kitchen and is spacious. The supermarket is close by, 2 minutes by car, 12 minutes on foot. There are also many delicious food trucks nearby. Michel was an attentive host who was always available and took care of concerns immediately
We had a great time at this home. We were a group of four adults and four children, and everyone slept comfortably. The house is in a great location on a beautiful beach, and is in walking distance to excellent snorkeling and a group of excellent food trucks. It is also convenient to any north shore activity. Michel was communicative and helpful both before and during our stay. We definitely recommend this property.
We wanted to spend a week on the beach, not surrounded by other tourists, and that's exactly what we got. We watched the sun rise and set every day and had the whole beach nearly to ourselves. Michel is very responsive and accommodating. We hope to stay there again.

The house was super clean and everything worked as it should, including the dishwasher! We spent every evening enjoying the sunsets on the deck after an afternoon swim. We had the most amazing time.. not long enough but I’m sure we’ll be back.

The location was fantastic on the beautiful Sunset Beach with a great ocean view with amazing sunsets which we enjoyed watching every evening!
Foodland was right down the street for groceries, Ted's Bakery provided the delightful pastries and brunch and the small town of Haleiwa provided the shops and restaurants.
The home itself was clean and mostly in great condition (except the dishwasher which badly needs to be replaced). All of the needed amenities were provided and the owner and property manager were available for assistance or to answer questions.
The house has good internet connection, TVs and sound system, deck with table and umbrella, plenty of chairs and chaise lounges and a hot tub!
All four bedrooms had comfortable beds and air conditioning and fans (much needed as the west facing house gets very hot in the afternoon).
Also be aware that the roosters start crowing before sunrise! :-)

The location was perfect for our adult family. We will gladly stay here again. Communication was easy with host and we were able to enjoy all the greatness of the North Shore at this location.
We were very pleased with Michel's wonderful home! Everything was perfect. The sound of the waves were so soothing, and the sunsets simply unmatched. Quite the romantic place to unwind and forget about everything else.
We stayed at the Sunset Beach House for 9 days and it was wonderful! Michel, the owner, is very welcoming and communicates extremely well. The property is located on a beautiful and quiet beach (the listing does not lie!). We were looking for a quiet property and we found it there. The sunsets are fabulous! The house is exactly as advertised, very well equipped, and beautifully decorated with a truly Hawaiian vibe. This is the best Oahu has to offer, in our opinion. Thank you Michel (and Bruno) for making our stay on Oahu so perfect!

The location was also amazing! A quick drive took us to Foodland and an area of fun food truck offerings and a few minutes further to the small town of Haleiwa. We shopped there, enjoyed shave ice, and enjoyed several meals including a great meal at Rajanee (Thai food). Many wonderful beaches were close by, including Waimea Bay Beach, Three Tables, and Sharks Cove.
The property is located on the beautiful Sunset Beach. Almost every day we enjoyed watching the sunset from our lanai.
The house itself is absolutely lovely. We loved the Polynesian decor, the spaciousness of the house, the up to date internet, new tvs and sound system, the fantastic lanai with table and umbrella, plenty of chairs and chaise lounges, a wooden bar facing the ocean, and a hot tub! All four bedrooms had comfortable beds, nice linen, and air conditioning and fans! The family room, which was open to the second story, had a full wall of glass and sliding doors facing the ocean. What an amazing view!
The owner went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for our stay. Thank you!

You couldn’t ask for a better location to enjoy the North Shore of Oahu. The owner is very helpful and responsive. The property is just as described. My family and I loved every minute of our stay.
It was a wonderful stay, we loved the place. It's just as in the photos, a delightful traditional Hawaiian home vacation. We had a great time and will definitely be coming back next year.
Our family was thrilled to see the beach and waves. A beautiful location, well stocked kitchen, clean as a whistle, comfortable beds, and the smart TVs in every room were awesome, Netflix, Max were all there for us to enjoy at night (great for the kids).

The home itself is just like the photos – beautiful and spotlessly clean, and the easy-going staff made our vacation one we will treasure for years. We’ve been to all the islands and this home is by far the most delightful we have experienced. It was our 2nd honeymoon and the relaxed atmosphere created by the Hawaiian décor made us feel like we were in our own romance novel. Couldn’t be better. Also, holding hands, walking down the path that opens onto the beach, well, it was just amazing. We hope to return someday for our 3rd honeymoon and view the incredible sunsets over the oceans again. :)
And it definitely is that. As a teen in the 80s I used to love watching Magnum PI and I always wanted to go to Hawaii to see for myself if it was really like that, and we were not disappointed. The house is right on the beach and exactly like the listing photos, the only thing missing was Magnum’s Ferrari. Darryl keeps the house extremely clean and it is air-conditioned although we never had to turn it on, the weather was great. We can’t say enough about Michel’s home here except that it is wonderful and we will be back!!

This is such a reprise from all of the typical touristy places we've stayed before. Nice, friendly greeting upon arrival. Super wide-open beach. Felt like we were the only ones in a faraway tropical paradise. Really cool Polynesian decor. Look forward to returning!
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! We have stayed at many VRBO’s in Hawaii and the Caribbean and this location has to be seen to be believed! Less than an hour away from the crowded Waikiki beach you will find your own private beach within walking distance of island famous food trucks as well as a grocery store that has everything you need (food, alcohol, various beach supplies). Michel was an amazing host and was responsive and helpful with all of our questions in preparing for our trip. The property caretaker was available for a questions during our stay and gave us excellent advise on local restaurants, hiking trails and even helped our son with fishing location suggestions! Everything at the house is as described in the listing - we loved the retro Polynesian feel of the house and the hot tub on the deck has amazing sunset views! The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and we bought groceries to cook some meals on the bbq when we didn’t feel like eating out. We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teens) and the house had lots of space for everyone to have their own bedroom and bathroom. We would definitely recommend this for a relaxing island getaway to recharge with all of the amenities close by!
We loved our stay, with 4 adults and 4 teenage boys. Plenty of room for us to spread out and also enjoy the large main room together. Literally steps from the beach -- could not ask for a better location. We called the house "retro Hawaii" because it has the feel of a true Hawaiian beach home. We felt like we could unwind completely. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything you need and more. We cooked for our larger group and a few additional friends and had plenty to work with. While appliances are a bit dated, they work fine. I was a little surprised to read the previous review about safety. We never felt unsafe in the house or the beach. Everyone needs to be careful these days but we never felt like we were in danger in any way. Quite the opposite actually. One of the best parts about the property is Darryl! He's the property manager and was instantly attentive to anything we needed or asked. We felt right at home with Michel and the property.
Pictures are very old and don’t show the run down moldy bathrooms we wouldn’t shower in! The homeless sleep about 50-75 feet from the 1st floor bedrooms, and you had to put the alarm on if you went to the beach, store, or slept if not they will walk into the home and steal what they can get, that note was left on the table,but even his property mgr warned us! When he mentioned the homeless after I rented it he made it sound like no big deal, but if its not a big deal why am I finding out about the alarm NOW?! We were so scared we had to go to the resort down the way which was less money, and clean! Plus if it’s so safe why does he have 9 cameras on this house?! Bcuz it’s unsafe! Ants everywhere even though we kept our food in a container we bought. Beds have mold and stains on them. Owner didn’t care one bit, and said he has 200 5star reviews- those reviews are lying! pictures on the Vrbo site are over 10 years old! I reported him to Vrbo & will be doing the same with the bbb bcuz I don’t want anyone else to be over 5000miles from home and have to deal with this. I’ve rented from Vrbo over 20+ times & never dealt with anything like this. I wish I could post pictures to prove myself!! Except for the ocean view and deck this house shouldn’t be for rent! The owner will probably attack me for this review but 6 adults over 50 felt this way, but he didn’t want to hear it. He should have refunded us our money bcuz it’s not safe, it’s moldy, & it’s over priced for the filth you get!!
