Mark and Nancy's house is absolutely wonderful! They are extremely responsive and helpful and the house is exactly as depicted. It is neat and clean, but what you can't see in the pictures is all the small touches that make it very comfortable and easy to spend time in (things like plenty of hooks/bars for towels, outdoor clothes line for beach things and hose and chairs outside to clean up, places to unpack clothes, extra beach and bath towels, shades on the porch to block direct sun in the afternoon...so many comfortable touches). The beds were comfortable, there was plenty of hot water and good water pressure, full size washer and dryer in the carport, and the kitchen is equipped with everything you could want. You can see and hear the ocean from the balcony and it is a short walk to the shore. We saw lots of sea turtles, a monk seal, and spinner dolphins right there at the end of the street! Walk another block or so and you are at Brennecke's Beach and the huge Poipu Beach Park. This location is fantastic with most of the island within 30-40 minute drive (only the northern tip is more than that). We highly recommend this house and hope to stay again at a future visit. As a side note, yes you can sometimes hear roosters early, but I challenge anyone to find somewhere on Kauai where that is not the case. If that will bother you, bring earplugs.

Mark and Nancy are so kind and accommodating, even offering us a late check-out which afforded us more time to make more memories in beautiful Poipu! Mark and Nancy were spot on with all communications in regards to our visit, including instructions for property access. This was a first during the 3 times we have rented via VRBO. House was spotless, with everything well maintained. Definitely would recommend staying there if traveling to the south side of Kauai.
This is one of the best beach houses we have ever stayed in. Hosts communication was excellent, and the hosts left local snacks, coffee, fruit, etc to welcome us. The house is well-appointed with almost everything needed for the beach: towels, chairs, sun umbrellas, wagon, boogie boards, and toys for kids. The house was spotless and the kitchen and baths were also well-appointed. Air conditioning was rarely needed, but was quiet and worked very well when we used it. Also, the 1st floor laundry was efficient and appreciated.The house is only a 5 minute walk from Brennecke’s beach, which is small with some crashing surf, perfect for boogie boarding. Five more minutes of walking will get you to Poi’pu Beach which has lifeguards, great snorkeling right off the beach, swimming, and sea turtles. If you’re hungry or thirsty, Brennecke’s Beach Bar is right there as is shave ice, and Puka Dog. There is a coastal heritage trail that we hiked to Shipwreck Beach and Over the bluffs beyond. Old Town Koloa is a short drive.
We spent four days on a family vacation. Perfect location, the home was extremely well equipped, everything worked, and it was very clean. We had a very comfortable family vacation. Texted the host a couple of times on small items and they were immediately responsive. I would absolutely stay here again.
Great property, great location, highly recommended
This beach cottage was well appointed, very clean and had everything we would ever need. The location was convenient for family beach days, grocery stores for supplies and great restaurants & boutiques. We made ourselves at home, heated up the gas bbq and cooked up some delicious meals. We found beautiful hand made green MCM vases in the cupboard above the refrigerator… the bouquet of flowers we brought back to the cottage looked stunning! Nancy & Mark were great hosts and made us feel welcomed. We will definitely be coming back! If you’re looking for a low key mellow beach vibe, this will be your happy place.It’s definitely ours.
We (couple toddler) spent nine nights here, and wouldn't have changed a thing. The house was literally a four-minute walk from the water, which was great for letting our kid get his wiggles out multiple times a day. In addition to being squeaky clean, the house seemingly had everything we needed for cooking at home, comfortable trips to the beach, and day trips to the other side of the island. Will be recommending to our friends/parents for future trips to Kauai.
Everything about is 5 Star, but the best thing was that the owners thought of the little things that others miss. Your wireless mouse battery dies, the have one. Long lighter hanging right next to grill. Shoe rack just inside door. It's the little things that matter.logical cabinet.
Our family spent 5 days here and we were very happy with the house and our hosts. Mark was friendly and responsive to all our concerns, which we very much appreciated. Definitely recommend!

We have been coming to Poipu for 25 years. This is the most convenient and comfortable location we have stayed. The house is clean and comfortable for two couples. It has the easiest parking imaginable; well supplied for cooking/BBQing at home; short walking distance to the Poipu Beach/Brennecke's. Hard to beat.

We had a wonderful time staying at this property. Property was very clean, beds were comfortable (my personal preference is firm, this one was soft), kitchen was fully functional, great location, calm & quit, close to beach. restaurants within 1.5 miles, driving in and out was easy.
The house is clean, spacious, well-equipped, and just far enough from the crowds to be very quiet while also within a short walk of the central Poipu beaches.
Clean, comfortable, well stuffed kitchen, nice welcome touches. Great location, 3 mins walk to the beach.

The house was clean and as advertised. It was equipped with pleanty of dishes for home cooked meals. The beds were comfortable. Plenty of beach towels, beach chairs, and other beach things. The house, while not directly on the water, is a short walk to the beach. It is in a great location. We would definitely stay here again in the future.
This was our first VRBO, and trip to Hawaii. The place was great. Clean, well furnished, great location. Well maintained, and supplied. Couldn't ask for more.

Perfect location on south of Kauai. Very short around the corner walk to beach, great swimming, sunsets and whale sightings too.
The house was an excellent base camp for our family. Very relaxing setting for starting and ending the days and the house had all the amenities needed plus more. It’s a long journey to Hawaii but if we find ourselves back in Kauai this house will be our number 1 preferred location to stay. Thank you for sharing your amazing home with us!
Location was so great just a block from the shoreline; spent most mornings walking to the beach with coffee in hand, and sat watching turtles, whales, dolphins, ahhhh! The property is so comfortable, nice lanai to eat meal and gardens around house are beautiful. I liked that it was tucked in on gravel road so no traffic noise or business. Super clean, and kitchen open and good cooking space and utensils. The beds were comfortable, and linens great. Great condition, but a bit dated and needs painting - I was a little worried when I first walked up to house because outside needs paint. Thank you very much to Nancy who helped us our last night; we were locked out of the house (our fault) and she saved us a lot of grief by helping us get in without too much trouble. Much appreciation!!
We have owned a home in Kalaheo for 25 yrs + - I spend winters on Kauai and then some - I spend Feb as a self care month and find a spot to be solo, and am very pleased that I chose this amazing location and home.
Everything - and I mean everything is as the site states. Very organized, clean, fully stocked... I could go on and on.
I know how to live on the island so that is a bonus - my suggestion would be if the roosters/chickens bother you bring your ear plugs - I carry a box fan where ever I travel on island as a sound machine. I am usually Northshore but am very happy I switched it up this year. Thank you to Nancy for the welcoming gift.
