I can not say enough good things about this place. The house is comfortable & clean with lots of space. The property and the view are truly breathtaking. If you are looking for an "off the beaten path" true Hawaiian experience away from the resort scene, this is it! Eddie and Aldene are the most gracious hosts and even took us around the property. This is by far my favorite vacation rental we have ever stayed in. We will definitely be back!

This VRBO lived up to its beautiful picture! The waterfall was right outside the terrace and my grandsons made the trek down to it twice a day to swim, dive off the rocks, and hunt prawns. The views of the ocean and the countryside were gorgeous from every window and outside seating area! The house itself was so comfortable and convenient for our group of a grandmother, a dad, and two teen-age boys. Close to Hilo but still secluded and private. The hosts were amazingly kind and took us on a fun ATV ride of the 20 acre property, showing us the sweet potato fields, the macadamia nut orchard, and the chickens, goats, and sheep. They gave us some great tips on local sites to visit. I HIIGHLY recommend this VRBO!

Gorgeous setting offering views and peaceful quiet. Wonderful combination of both being "away from it all" and offering comfort and upscale accommodations. Hosts could not have been more welcoming and accessible when needed.

Magical Hideaway in Hilo Staying at this unique rental in Hilo was an unforgettable experience. Nestled in a beautifully remote location, the home offers breathtaking views of the ocean and a stunning waterfall right outside your patio—it’s like waking up in a dream. The property itself has so much character, and one of our favorite memories was listening to the rain rhythmically dance on the roof at night. It was serene, powerful, and incredibly peaceful. The home is not a luxury setup, but it's nonetheless extremely comfortable and well appointed. What truly made our stay exceptional were the hosts. They were kind, welcoming, and generous with their time. They gave us a personal tour of their incredible farm, and even gifted us fresh eggs from their chickens—such a special and thoughtful touch. If you're looking for a stay that connects you with nature and offers genuine hospitality, this place is it. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already dreaming about our next visit.

I really want to write a bad review, so I can keep this rental for myself, but I can’t. We are a family of 6, and the property fit us all comfortably with extra room to spare. The beds were great and the views were breathtaking. The real reason for my great review was Aldene and Eddie. They were fabulous hosts. They were welcoming and informative. We experienced a lot of the hidden gems on Hilo because of them. We now consider them Ohana because of this stay. They treated my family like their own and made sure we felt at home. The sunrise was awesome from this property! The attached pictures don’t really capture the property’s true beauty.

This place could not be any more perfect! Absolutely gorgeous setting on a macadamia nut farm with a view over Hilo Bay. Each day we were there I had my coffee on the patio watching a gorgeous sunrise with Mauna Kea behind us. The house is beautiful, stocked with everything you need. It’s a quick drive into Hilo and the hosts are fantastic! Eddie and Aldean are so sweet, gave us a tour of the farm and an amazing hike/scramble down to the waterfall below the house. This is one of the most amazing places I’ve ever stayed!

Group of 6 women stayed for 11 nights competing in an outrigger canoe event. Our hosts, Eddie and Aldine were fantastic, so friendly and accomodating, 100 out of 100. Nothing was too much trouble and they certainly went the extra mile. Views are amazing and an easy 20 minute drive to Hilo township. We would definitely recommend.

This house was perfect for the group of six. The house is open and welcoming, with one huge bedroom plus two smaller ones. The living room and kitchen are functional and user friendly. There are two terraces, one big and accommodating six, the other small, good for contemplation by one or two. The outside is perfect, including the waterfall and the lake below it.

It sounds odd to say, but of all the things we did on our beautiful Hawaii vacation, I will remember this VRBO the most. The location is absolutely gorgeous! We arrived at night, so imagine our surprise the next morning to find a stunning view from the back porch and a waterfall below the back yard. The hosts are very friendly and attentive and help you with any needs and even extras.
This is not your typical VRBO. It's not an impersonal condo unit or a house on a neighborhood street. The cabin-like house is up a dirt road and off by itself on a secluded farm. The hosts are on-site and always available to help. It has a few lighting issues, but it is clean and bug-free. One drawback is that the sixth bed is a fold out and does not have a room of it's own, so it is difficult for an adult to use. There is no air conditioning or wi-fi. We just left the windows open and enjoyed the cool air and sounds of nature. The cell service is good enough to run a hot-spot if needed.
If you like the outdoors and are looking for the most unique and beautiful place you've ever stayed, than I would suggest this for you.

Oh my gosh, this house and grounds are truly beautiful. All is as they say it is..... The only changes I might suggest are a bit larger eating table as we were crowded with 6. And, the one other thing was that with the light outside, it was difficult to watch daytime television.........which is only needed for sporting events of course...........suggest blinds that pull down on the two windows behind the tv. When we do visit the big Island again, we will want to stay here when in Hilo.

This place was great. Just what we were looking for.
The waterfall in the back yard was a nice surprise.
Loved the relatively close proximity to downtown Hilo.
Only complaint was for the birds outside the bedroom window, if we could put a muzzle on them at night that would be great... Haha.

We loved this house with the sound of the waterfall and frogs everybody night. Great view of the stars, and everything we needed. Gift basket, washer dryer, plenty of bed space, we even put the car in the garage during the tropical storm. Lovely secluded location. Best vacation house ever!
