Lovely house & pool a 30 drive from Hilo.9/10 ... almost perfect. If only there was a dining table outside under the lanai. The underwater pool light wasn’t working, I reported it and the handyman came the next day. But the replacement bulb had to be ordered and we went home before it was installed - what a shame - nighttime dip would’ve been wonderful. The hot tub was too hot 🥵 we needed an instruction sheet on how to work it!!

We just returned from our yearly visit, and as usual, everything was perfect. The grandkids spent most of their time in the pool—it’s such a quiet and relaxing place for all of us.We also love the location—close to Hilo and just about an hour’s drive to the Volcano. It’s the perfect spot for a peaceful getaway with easy access to adventure!The staff has always been accommodating and available whenever we needed anything. We truly appreciate the care and attention they provide—it makes each visit even more enjoyable.
We really enjoyed our stay. It was so nice to have the pool and hot tub and the house had everything we needed for cooking. It’s also quite roomy. It’s about 25 minutes from downtown Hilo, but close to other sites and beaches.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Paradise Retreat. If was clean and well cared for. The pool and hot tub were a great bonus. It was hard to keep the kids out of the pool! It was close enough to Hawaii Volcanoes Nat'l park to go every day and really explore.

I can’t imagine needing anything else than what this house provided. The house was spotless and immaculate. The outdoor space was enormous, and also pristinely maintained. The little details around the property really made it feel like home - the local artwork, the Hawaiian decor (which was so comfortable). There were plenty of extras around the house so we didn’t need to shop to get extra supplies, small condiments, aloe, beach supplies (chairs, etc). The instructions for the house were very clear and the recommendations made for places to go were spot on (we went to several of them). Overall, this is probably the most idyllic place we have ever stayed. My 7 year old loved splashing in the pool and the hot tub was always nice and warm. We will definitely be back! Loved the house so much!
We had a great time staying here. The accommodations were exactly as described. We really enjoyed having the pool and the hot tub. It would be more convenient if there was an outdoor shower to rinse off before pool or hot tub. Loved this house. We will be back again.

Fantastic property! Fully stocked with everything you need. Clean, comfortable, beautifully landscaped with a wonderful pool and hot tub. We were almost tempted to stay on the property the entire time we were on the big island. Close to Hilo, Volcanoes National Park, black sand beaches and waterfalls. The Paradise cliffs are just a few blocks away, and a wonderful place to watch the sunrise every morning. Property manager was responsive and available, They even mailed us a pair of eyeglasses that got left accidentally. Would definitely stay here again!

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at the Paradise Retreat and again were not disappointed. The home is extremely clean and tidy, responses from on-island contact are always prompt and helpful. The pool was amazing as usual. This home exudes every bit of tranquility you could ask for and all the amenities to boot. Amazing roadside Huli Huli chicken stands, farmers markets and downtown Hilo are only minutes away as well as all the wonderful sights in Volcanoes National Park and on the other side of the island. We plan to continue to come back and stay at Paradise Retreat again and I highly recommend it to anyone else wanting a wonderful, extremely clean and fully stocked home to stay at while exploring all the Big Island has to offer.

Property was well kept. Fully stocked kitchen. Plenty of space. The pool was nice. An excellent place. The location is a little out of the way. We had a great experience.
Property was as wonderful as the pictures show. It was great to have space to spread out and be together. The family loved having the pool and the big yard to play in as well as the hot tub. The kitchen was well stocked for at-home meals. The only slight drawback is that there was the AC didn’t extend to the two smaller bedrooms so they got quite warm/humid for sleeping.

Very clean, quiet location, beautiful home with a great pool. It was awesome to have air conditioning. We go to the Big Island every year and this is one of the few Vrbo’s that we stayed at that has AC. Management team was awesome and went well out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable.
A perfect home for a family of four. We split our Big island vacations in two, with our Hilo stay being all about relaxing at home, by the pool w home cooked meals. This is house is perfect for that. Half an hour away from groceries and restaurants, if needed. The pool is pretty chilly-which is great on sunny days, unfortunately we hit a rainy week so we couldn’t enjoy it to its full potential, however the tub worked wonders.
Our youngest is a very strong swimmer and our oldest is a teen, so the pool size and depth was perfect for us.
The neighborhood is very quiet and private. The neighbors we happened to see were all very friendly. The landscaping provides excellent privacy. A review mentioned a dog barking, and he does but it’s a small pup and it’s not an annoying bark. I heard the wild fowl more than the dog. If you love the Hilo area, this is a great spot. Only suggestion would be a lock on the gate but it’s probably unnecessary.
I enjoyed the walking the grounds w my little one. It was fun.

We had a wonderful stay at Paradise Retreat, it was exactly what the title says, a Paradise retreat. We all enjoyed the pool and spa especially after a morning of snorkelling or sightseeing. The house was very clean and had all the amenities you would need. A fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities. The beds were really comfortable and I can not fault the house in any way.
Very much enjoyed our two week stay in this house. Very secluded and quiet. The geckos at night chirping was so loud and enjoyable. The grounds of the house are so beautiful. Only issue was there is no rail on the pool. Made it difficult for my wife to get in and out of the pool. Enjoyed all the local small restaurants and we also cooked too. Made for a very memorable family trip.
