The resort itself is a great one that we’ve stayed at before. We love the location, pool, and restaurant. The air conditioning unit worked wonderfully. Our particular room was very dated which was mentioned in other reviews but I wasn’t expecting the bathroom vanity to be partially painted and partially not. It seemed someone tried to do it quickly and ran out of time. The bed is very firm and the pillows were hard as a brick. Thankfully after a couple of nights we found some softer pillows in the drawers and once we were tired enough we slept better on the bed. There was hotel room remodeling happening next to us and we smelled the off gas of paint and it was very noisy starting at around 8am with pounding and carpet being installed. We would’ve appreciated a heads up that this was going to take place during our stay as a courtesy. Communication was slow with our host responding sometimes a day later. We appreciated the midweek cleaning especially since our fridge was full of other people’s food when we arrived. Basically, if you want to save quite a bit of money booking through VRBO vs directly through the hotel, just be prepared for the things mentioned. We didn’t spend much time in the room and these things didn’t ruin our vacation.
No microwave as advertised creating difficulty with meals esp. since I had gone shopping prior to checking in. Pics on Vrbo advertising room are not recent as what was actually in room had a lot to be desired (handle on freezer broken, fan filthy and didn’t work, room entry digital lock didn’t work and it took an hour for maintenance to disassemble and repair digital pad and file the lock as it didn’t extend enough to lock door and to get into room while standing outside in hot humid weather while my refrigerator groceries melted & an infestation of ants was discovered, bathroom sink faucet leaked making counters difficult to use, bathtub missing tub plug, bathroom drawers half painted, drawers difficult to open, dresser drawers worn, carpeting worn & felt too dirty to walk on barefoot, under bed had painting supplies, cups looked dirty, 2 sleeping pillows—one completely useless)—I could go on but why bother. Room needs A LOT of TLC, esp. for the price being charged for the room. Property members were difficult & not useful. First question was always, “what’s your room number” Then the response “that’s a private unit we can’t help you.” Seriously, they wouldn’t even provide 1 paper cup so I could make coffee to-go the next morning to return to Walmart to purchase paper cups & plates & return my microwaveable food. I even offered to return cup when I got back. Never again. So disappointed. And the cost of parking was 40 per day plus tax & hotel fees.
It was nice, clean, and at a great location. We loved the resort food.
The room was moderately priced at an upscale resort. The room was very clean but slightly dated. A pleasant surprise was that there was a wicker chaise lounge that a child was able to use as a twin bed. The property itself was centrally located and the pools and staff were top notch. Everyone was very helpful and communication was extremely responsive from both the resort itself and the VRBO host. Would definitely consider staying again.
Great resort, condo needs work
Great resort and room with a lot to offer. However, the beach was rather disappointing as it was almost non existent. Still deserves 5 stars as Kauai has many wonderful beaches to visit.
Wonderful resort. Great food and staff. The room smelled musty when we arrived. There were instructions posted for all the rules and to contact the property owner if there were any issues. But, there was not a contact number. There was no way to wash towels or bedding for the 4 night stay. The pillows provided were extremely heavy and hard. The provided fan did not work. We bought our own pillows and a new fan.
The fees, including the crazy expensive parking basically doubled the room price. There were huge wasps living on the patio and the screen door had been “fixed” by blue painters tape so we had to keep the doors shut and not use the patio. I had emailed the host because the email associated with my Expedia account wasn’t working to ask if she could send the check in info to a different email address. She replied that Vrbo should have automatically sent the check in info to the email on my account. I explained again that that email wasn’t working and never got a response back. When I tried to cancel through Expedia the agent was able to get me the check in info which was to just check in with the front desk. I’m not sure why it was hard for the host to just tell me that. The room was clean and functioned as somewhere for us to spend the night. The beach at the resort was not good for swimming.
The resort room and facilities were clean. The resort staff were very friendly and helpful. The sunrises were beautiful. The dining options at the resort were nice and the resort was close to a variety of dining options and other tourist activities.
This property was perfect for our time on Kauai. The pools with waterfalls and hot tubs are surreal. The property's location made it easy to access both the north and south ends of the island. It would be challenging to navigate the island without a vehicle. We were here for the holidays and the decor exceeded expectations.
The property was clean and as described. The only issue we had was with the WiFi. The information given by the host was not accurate and I messaged the host about it. She got back to me the next morning saying that the network name probably changed when it was bought by Outrigger and to look for a network under that name. I responded that there was only the unsecured network. She responded that she hoped it worked out for me. I responded that unsecured networks should not be used for security reasons and I never received a response after that. We ended up just using our cell data, but it would have been a real issue if we needed the WiFi for work.
A great location central to everything, with the most beautiful beach. Would stay here again!
We really enjoyed our stay. The room is just a simple studio, but plenty of room for two people. Beautiful views and lots of privacy. No microwave in the room was just a slight bummer, but there was a communal one down the hall for reheating frozen meals/leftovers
Thank you, great property and price, will use again
The location was great. We had a partial ocean view from the patio where we could see the mountains on the west and ocean on the east. The room was large and comfortable.
We had a great time staying here. In the middle of two towns and easy access to great beaches. The pools and hot tubs were very nice and provided for a great overall stay.
The property was stunning, nice pools and hot tub. Not much of a beach though. So walks on the beach weren’t amazing. About 10-15 minutes from the airport. Being that I booked through Vrbo instead of the hotel did not affect my stay at all. Was still able to use the grounds like I wanted and saved almost half of what the hotel was charging.
We were very happy with our stay at this unit. The owner, Lily, kept in excellent touch with us before and during our trip, answering our questions promptly. The resort itself is a well-run facility with an easy check-in/check-out process, and access to the many pools, lounge, and laundry. Although the beach adjoining the property is not recommended for swimming, it's still a lovely spot to dip your feet in, go for a walk, and play in the sand. The resort staff were friendly and always willing to answer our questions and make our stay a great experience.
The unit is well-appointed and clean. We slept 3 with my 10yr old son using the chaise lounge as a bed, but it's really best-suited for 2 adults. The unit is at the end of the 5th floor and has a nice view of the property and the mountains --- there is no road traffic and we found it to be quiet and restful. As mentioned in the ad, there is a refrigerator and coffee maker in the unit, but the kitchenette, with microwave, sink, and table, is in a shared common area. It can be a bit busy during meal times, and is minimal, so really best suited for heating up foods and not actually preparing/cooking meals.
The location, just north of Lihue is convenient, but as generally recommended for Kauai, you will want a car rental. We found lots of interesting shops, restaurants, and beaches between Lihue, Kapa'a, and Kilauea, all a short 10 to 30 minutes away.
I'd happily recommend a stay here!
The room was very clean and stocked with needed essentials. Decor is a little dated and could use a face lift but we don't vacation in the room. The bed was comfortable. Lily stays in contact if you need anything. Rent her place with confidence. 5th floor corner room for privacy.
Resort had 5 different pools and also has beach access within walking distance!!!
The parking fee was a surprise cost, wasn’t expecting that. Otherwise decent and served our purpose.
Rental is a privately owned unit within a resort hotel. As such, guests are excluded from some amenities available to others who book directly with the hotel. Was not really a problem, just unexpected.
The resort is beautiful and offers a wide variety of services. The room itself met our needs quite well, but is in need of some maintenance and upgrades.
The room could use some updating, but who cares, I was in Hawaii and spent most of my time out enjoying the beautiful island. Even so, the resort was amazing and the ocean and mountain views are breathtaking.
If we are able to come back to Kauai, we WILL be staying here!
We enjoyed the property very much. The room was a standard hotel room- a bit dated but very clean.
The Resort was beautiful with great amenities. Extremely friendly staff. Beautiful sunrise from the resort. The pools and got tubs are refreshing. Conveniently located. The unit was a bit dated including the mattress. Cleaning for did not include trash removal.
The room was clean and comfortable. The resort at which this is located is absolutely beautiful! Multiple pools, two restaurants, a beach bar for drinks and snacks and a beautiful beach. The room has a coffee maker and a refrigerator, and there is a microwave oven & common area just down the hall. Some people may find this a little basic, but if you are out enjoy the island all day, like we did, then it’s a non issue. We found this location close to almost every activity that we participated. River tubing, kayaking, hiking and a top notch Luau are all within five miles. Would definitely go back again.
The location and cleanliness were top rate. We were surprised by the $35/day parking fee and the in room supplies were a bare minimum. However, we loved the oceanfront location!
The resort was very nice and well kept.
The unit was very dated and in need of updating. The refrigerator door handle was missing. The walls were in need of painting. Limited towels in the bathroom. The bed pillows were very small, miniature size.
