Room set up and view of property is excellent. Resort is wonderful.
Room was not fully prepared for our arrival...missing bedding for pull out bed. Called the property manager office and Mel picked up. She was not at all helpful and said we had to wait until the next day which was not acceptable. Within 15 minutes of talking to her someone else called me and was very helpful and had a very kind man deliver the bedding within an hour.
Additionally, the room does still have cockroaches as of June 2024 as stated in a past visitors review from Dec 2023. This was not ok.
Perfect studio apartment with an awesome view of the property and the ocean. Great resort. Very clean and well kept. The apartment was exactly like the pictures. The property management team was really great at communicating with me prior to the trip and gave me all the information I needed for check-in. The resort is just beautiful and the pools were wonderful. It was all very well maintained. Very nice beach, just beyond the pool! A couple of things I could have used was a mirror outside of the bathroom. Would have helped with getting ready while the bathroom was being used. The electrical outlets on the kitchen island didn’t work and we put in a maintenance request but it was never resolved. The kitchen is stocked with minimal items, but enough to get by. We had a wonderful stay and I would definitely come back and highly recommend this resort and this specific apartment!
Property was beautiful but there were small roaches in the condo.
It definitely looks better than it really is and for the price I wouldn't stay again.
We also had an issue with bugs that went on for 3 days, definitely not a great start to the vacation, we were happy to leave the property.
A few outstanding maintenance issues.
1. entry door deadbolt does not engage. Also, the door does not fully close all of the time. The day we requested new towels, the housekeeping staff did not make sure the door was fully closed. When we returned back to the condo, the front door was partially open.
2. Bathroom door jamb has a pretty large crack in it.
3. lamp switch on left side of bed is shorting out, loose wires.
4. Lamp swith on right side of bed is very hard to operate.
5. A smart TV would be great so we would have watched Netflix
We would definately recommend this property to friends.
Our family of four had a great time! The resort is amazing. The room was amazing. We had a great view of the ocean. The beach in front of the resort was great and a good spot for snorkeling. We had a few requests for the property management company and they were very quick to respond. Last note...although it didn't impact our enjoyment of the trip, the resort is undergoing an exterior painting project that involves lift machines. They were painting the units a few down from us, so the lifts were visible and were occasionally loud. They did a pretty good job trying to keep the noise down though. We were not aware of this prior to arrivals, so it was a bit of a bummer. Like I said though, it didn't impact our enjoyment. But if you're going to be staying here within a few months of October 2022, it might be worth asking about if you think it might bother you.
But all-in-all, we would definitely stay here again, even with the painting project. We were very happy with the unit, property, and property management company.
My family and I loved staying here, with different pools to choose from my kids loved it. The room was enough space for us, clean, beautiful views, and we loved our staycation!
Booking was easy and checking in was even easier! This whole process was so amazing and it went smoothly. The hotel is beautiful and the room had everything we could?ve needed!
I loved staying here and would definitely come back again. The studio I stayed in was very clean and beautiful. I was able to watch sunsets every night during my stay since it was a short walk to the beach and also felt very safe here. I would give this a 5 star except several days of my stay, the large swimming pool could have been cleaned more. Other than that, there was so many beautiful pools to enjoy and our hostess checked in with us often. I highly recommend staying here.
This was the perfect place for our stay in Maui.
The studio is large and accommodates 2 easily. Large bathroom, well appointed kitchen and good view of ocean. Bed is comfortable. Wifi works well.
Overall the Honua Kai is a lovely resort with nice facilities on a decent beach within easy reach of the rest of West Maui.
