Welcome to paradise in this two bedroom, two bath, no stairs ground floor condo that lives like a house. Your favorite part just might be the massive lanai that spans the length of the unit and provides ample room to sunbathe, curl up with a book, or dine in tropical paradise while you and your guests will eat, drink and gaze at majestic Ha'upu Mountain. It is quite a site from the lanai, living room and master bedroom.
Inside, you'll find a dining area with ample room to entertain guests and a living room with a sleeper sofa, allowing the unit to accommodate up to six people. Access the lanai from the living room or the master bedroom which has AC and it's own separate hall for separation from the other bedroom. Makanui unit 712 is a corner unit tiled throughout with extra louvers on front, back and side walls for maximum air flow, although if needed, BOTH bedrooms have AC. The completely renovated condo includes a full kitchen remodel that provides an open floor plan, stainless steel appliances, attractive tile backdrop and granite countertops. The kitchen is stocked with cooking supplies, Tupperware and all that is needed to create a feast. The space is lovely, additionally, there is a built-in-desk for remote work in paradise.
The unit is conveniently located well off Poipu Road while still being perfectly positioned between Poipu Beach Park and Shipwreck Beach. The pathways weave through beautifully landscaped gardens and are paved for ease. We have a beach closet with Boogie boards, towels, kid's sand toys, umbrellas and chairs for your use and enjoyment.
As members of Poipu Kai Resort, you have access to Pickleball and tennis courts that can be reserved for a nominal fee. Drop in tennis is available several mornings per week. You will also have access to two pools, the Makanui pool, which is just steps from your door and very private and quiet. The Poipu Kai Resort Community pool is also available by the tennis courts and has a hot tub and is often more lively and close to Kalapaki Joe's Sports Bar where you can grab a drink and bite to eat.
As you walk through the trails of the lush gardens of Poipu Kai Resort, you will not have to walk far to find several dining spots nearby. There is Brennecke's Beach Broiler, Brenneck's Beach Deli, Puka Dog and the restaurants found at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa including Stevenson Library which offers amazing sushi with fabulous cocktails, and a view of the ocean. You can also fine dine at Tide Pools as Koi fish swim nearby. There is also more casual dining including pizza, salads, sandwiches and much more. Another favorite of ours is to walk to the Grand Hyatt and grab coffee and breakfast on their breath taking patio. If you are a hiker, after breakfast take the cliff hike to Mahaulepu Beach where you can take your first swim of the day.
If you are looking to sit back and relax in the condo, there is plenty of space to spread out and play games that are provided, or relax with a book in the sun chairs on the Lanai, 3 flat screen Smart Tv's with complimentary Netflix and Hulu in the living room, and each bedroom. Whether you are here for play or relax, we have you covered.
If you're up for driving, there are so many hikes around Kauai. Some of our favorites are the Sleeping Giant, the Kalalou Trail and Okolehao Trail. Also a trip up to Hanalei Bay never disappoints. You can kayak down a winding river, walk into a massive cave, beach ...
