We enjoyed our stay at Kona Reef. Unit D17 was clean and comfortable. The location was convenient and within walking distance to restaurants. After spending the day exploring or at a beach it was nice to come back and relax. We spent alot of time on the balcony enjoying the view of the ocean and sunsets.
We had an excellent stay at this place during our week in Kona. Centrally located within walking distance to restaurants and shops was great.

I did not know what to expect but this condo has it all!! Walking into the condo and seeing the ocean is an experience I hope everyone gets to have!! Everything was impeccably clean, labeled and available. We cooked many of our meals in the kitchen and had everything we needed and more. The bed is VERY comfortable with AC in the master. Bathroom has beautiful art and great lighting. Plenty of hooks and storage available throughout. Living room was a dream with the million dollar view (and AC). Comfortable couch, comfortable eating area. Location of the condo is walking distance to everything, even bikes if you want to go a little further. The community area is clean and a BBQ always available. Hot tub was never over crowded. Pool opens early for those of us who have jet lag. This property has everything! The rental company had quick and efficient communication. I felt like they truly wanted me to experience the Aloha experience, and boy did we. If we ever come back to the Big Island again, I am definitely staying in this condo again!

The unit was very nice and well appointed. The grounds need additional maintenance and additional plants. Garage is messy and part of it looks like a construction zone-at least screening should be added. Much construction in the neighborhood with abandoned resort property next door.

My wife and I have stayed at the Kona Reef several times and this unit was exactly as represented- clean and close to the beach. It was exactly described online. Knutson and Associates were there to answer any questions and were very helpful. I would definitely recommend it to others as long as they don’t book our time for next year!

We loved this place! By FAR, the best equipped vacation rental we have ever stayed in. They have thought of everything! Great location, AMAZING view... everything we needed. The property managers are wonderful... very responsive to our every need. I would highly recommend this place. Also, we could see a catamaran from the lanai each day and found out it was the Kona Style snorkel cruise heading for Captain Cook. We booked it! What a great experience...small boat, really fun, knowledgeable crew. Highly recommend them also!

We love the location of the Kona Reef. The condo exceeded our expectations. The owners have really paid attention to detail. They have also provided a brand new stacked washer dryer in the unit which works amazing. The property mgmt company, Knutson & Associates, answered all of our questions immediately which was great. I wanted to cook something but noticed there was no large frying pan. I texted them to let them know. When we got home there was a brand new box of cookware at the door. My husband and I were so impressed. The location and the view are unbeatable you can walk to town if you want but it’s all about the VIEW!!!!!! Sitting on the Lanai every night with a cocktail enjoying sunset it just can’t get any more beautiful and relaxing. The living room furniture is very comfortable. We appreciated the big TV in the living room and in the bedroom and the bed was very comfy. We really couldn’t have asked for anything more. It was really perfect!!!! We can’t wait to return to Kona and we will definitely go through Knutson & Associates and stay in unit D 17.

We had a wonderful stay at Kona Reef D17 in August 2023! The highlight of this well-accommodated, clean condo is the lanai at the ocean's edge. We changed our busy itinerary to just sit and enjoy. We had questions during our stay and Knutson was very responsive. The condo is just a block's walk from restaurants and shopping of Kona. We didn't use the pool, but it looked lovely and had the ocean view as well. We will rebook this condo when we return to the Big Island!

The location is fantastic — walking distance to a small sandy beach park (where the boogie board was invented) and walking distance to many great restaurants (favorites: Lava Java, Quinn’s, Huggo’s). The view from this condo's lanai is spectacular, assuming you like palm trees and the Pacific Ocean. The kitchen is quite functional and well stocked. The bed is very comfortable. We ran the bedroom AC at night, which worked well; we didn't try to cool the entire unit - much nicer to listen to the waves. The only downside is that all of the pictures were removed by the former owner (except one, and I understand why they left that one behind.) There are nails and screws sticking out of the walls where the pictures used to be. It gave the impression of walking into a dorm room, though one with a great view!

What can we say other than this was one of our best getaways. From the very beginning our hosts were excellent to work with. The unit is in great shape and the view spectacular. Our hosts reached out to us when we were there and helped with ideas for things to do and sights to see. We were exceptionally lucky in that the Volcano erupted and we were able to do a fly over.
The unit itself is beautifully finished and in great shape. Everything we needed to cook or bbq was there. The view from the lanai was amazing and we enjoyed appys and drinks every evening watching the sun go down.
The grounds and pool area are well maintained. The bbq area was a great place to cook and meet other guests not to mention well equipped with 4 large bbq’s.
All and all it was definitely one of our better getaways and we will hopefully be returning again next season.

Property is located immediately adjacent to the shore with waves crashing on lava, a small sand beach nearby and a short walk to restaurants and shopping. A week here was just what the doctor ordered. The condo is very well stocked with everything you need - and has been upgraded. All of the amenities are nice and modern.
Easy walk to restaurants, the farmer’s market and shops. Free parking, and a beautiful ocean front view and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else on island. It was the perfect stay.
