This condo was quiet, comfortable, and well equipped. Neighbors were friendly. The view was gorgeous from the master bedroom and the lanai. The lovely gardens next to our lanai and comfortable outdoor furniture encouraged us to spend a lot of time outdoors! Our grandkids loved the easy access to the pool and we always had the pool to ourselves! We loved our trips to the many beaches and having a place to rinse off before entering the house was great. The location of the condo was also good for exploring the many sights and experiences that the Big Island has to offer.
My husband and I visited with his parents who are in their 80's. Benefits to this location for our party - ability to drop people off close to the front door with no stairs; comfortable porch on the ground floor; big dining table perfect for a puzzle; well-appointed kitchen and closet full of essential beach items. Pros - the master bedroom has 2-drawer nightstands (in lieu of a dresser); closets with ample hangers in both rooms. The condo community is small with some full-time residents. Since balconies overlook the pool, we had friendly conversations walking to the pool or to watch the sunset. Grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. Pool is very clean (and refreshingly cold). The rental agency was responsive and friendly. Minor cons (that would not deter us from staying here again) - The condo complex is at the top of a hill. To walk in the surrounding neighborhood, there is no choice but to go down the hill and back up it again. My husband and I didn't mind this. We walked around the neighborhood, saying hello to neighbors. But our traveling partners could not manage the hill, impacting their ability to exercise. The condo was clean but it could use a deep clean around the edges and a refresh of the bathroom towels and sheets. Second bedroom needs bigger nightstands and a small desk. When two adult couples travel together, it's nice to have somewhat equal bedrooms.
We recommend the condo to visitors who want a comfortable stay in a friendly, local neighborhood!

Kona Westwind 1 is in a great location, just off the highway but in a quiet area with easy parking. Sunset views off the lanai and a nice pool and BBQ area too. Suite is well provisioned with kitchen essentials and beach gear. Beds were comfortable, big screen smart TV was a plus. Great communication by the property manager, no issues at all during the stay.

A friend and I stayed at Kona Westwind #1 for 9 nights - 10 days for a destination wedding for my neice. Our stay was GREAT! location was Great close to the beach and just a few miles from the shops and restaurants in Kona.
great location. very close to town and the beaches. very clean. good communication with the host. good supply of beach items so that you don't have to rent them during your stay. the only issue i had with the stay was with the ac. unit does have ac. however it is 1 window unit in the master bedroom. other than that, our stay was great and I would stay in the location again and would recommend it to family and friends

it's a big place and amazing views, nice pool with nice accommodations! The place does need some updates. The toilet in the hall needs replaced, the handle to flush the toilet, felt like it was going to break when flushing. The primary bedroom needs the same thing. The unit really needs more A/C! And the whole unit needs some updates, but overall nice unit, private and very spacious.

As a great start the apartment was spotless (tumb up to the cleaner), the view from the lanay beautiful and the kitchen well stocked (from oil, spices, salt, pepper and all cooking material that you wish you have in a proper kitchen).The kids had great fun with the snorkelling equipment and board provided.All of that made a great stay to us.AC was very noisy so we did not use it (it was not needed anyway). The only thing to note is the curtain that are not blocking the light (and not exact dimension to windows). So you need an eye mask if you want to sleep late.Overall it was a fantastic stay, we highly recommend and would be super happy to come back

The property was very nice, furnishings were nice and decorated tastefully. Good location and quiet. Well stocked except there were no coasters, so we had to use washcloths in lieu of coasters. I went to make pancakes and found no spatula to mix batter and no mixing bowl, again had to improvise. Needs more coffee cups. Also the master bathroom shower doesn't drain to well. When I showered I usually had water up to my ankles by the time I was done. Probably need a plumber to come out and look at it.Thank you
