Great location, quiet, clean, right on the water. The pictures do not do justice. The pool, BBQ, and parking were all easily accessed and clean. Full washer and dryer, beach chairs, ice chests, towels and umbrella were available. Hoping to come back!
We have stayed in other units in the same complex, and decided to splurge this time by getting one at the ocean's edge. The wildlife viewing from the lanai was outstanding, there is a small blow-hole in the cliffs that is fun to watch, and the sunsets were memorable. We had plenty of space, comfortable beds, and the unit was well stocked with kitchenware and bath needs. The owner/manager responded quickly to any questions I had. Would love to stay again!

Such a perfect place! We've stayed in several places around Poipu, but this one was the best, from watching the dolphins and turtles from the lanai, to the SUNSETS - just spectacular. The property description was accurate, and we found it very clean and easy to check in. The starter set of supplies was very welcome! The condo had everything we needed and we met several wonderful people at the pool. Communication with the property manager was A, even answering a question on Easter morning! A very relaxing and beautiful location - thank you for making our anniversary trip one to remember! We plan to return as soon as we can!
Everything was said about the unit is right on. Our family of 5 adults stayed comfortably. The unit provided all of the amenities that we were looking for. The bed mattresses were so comfortable. The unit was cleaned. We appreciate all of the welcomed Hawaii treats. We will definitely stay here again in the future.
It was a great property with an attentive host at an amazing ocean front location. We lost track of how many whales and dolphins we saw during our stay.......incredible!
My husband and I spent 12 days at this property. The contents and location are exactly as described. The whale watching was daily, dolphins on occasion and random spotting of sea turtles right from the lania!Awesome vacation
Fabulous ocean view and a very large lanai to view it.
We come to Kauai every year but this is the first time we stayed here. For being a condo on the water it was spacious, you could hear the ocean and there was a great view from lanai, would come again
Great place for a small family. Quick access to Brennecke beach (good boogie boarding), the more gentle Poipu beach, and a 10 min stroll to Shipwreck beach / Hilton property. Place is well appointed with everything one needs for cooking. Small kids will love the on property pool.
Conveniently located near shopping, restaurants, and beaches. Kitchen was adequately furnished. The condo complex was built in the 1970's, however, you wouldn't know it from the inside of this unit. Excellent seaside walking trail from this unit. Great value for Poipu Beach area. We have stayed here before and hope to do so again in the future.
We have started at the makahuena for 28 years. This was my wife's favorite room, even among the other 5000 (waterfront) building units we've rented. Every night was a masterclass in the beauty of sunsets right feom our lanai. Whales, turtles and dolphins were regular visitors. I dont want to make it sound too amazing, however, because we will be back. Guaranteed.
This property has all the luxuries you'd ever need for a stay on Kauai. The property had magnificent views of the ocean and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We enjoyed morning coffee on the lanai and we loved watching the turtles and dolphins swim by and walks along the beach. It was quiet and very private so we didn't feel like it was noisy or over crowded. We had a fabulous stay and we will definitely return. Thank you so much!
We really loved this condo for our recent vacation to Kauai. My husband, our fifteen-year-old daughter, and I were blessed to find this unit after the original one we reserved was under construction. We hit the jackpot because it had all the criteria we were looking for: location, cleanliness, well-stocked, A/C, washer/dryer, pool/hot tub. The bonus was the incredible view--oh, my gosh! The cherry on top was our host, Sophia. We could not have asked for a more responsive, friendly, accommodating host. We will certainly return someday.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! It was well-appointed and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The communication was excellent and prompt as well. We appreciated being able to check in early when we arrived. Beautiful property and beachfront location. We would stay here again.

Breathtaking Views from the lanai. We had an amazing stay at this property. The view from the lanai was phenomenal! We enjoyed our meals on the lanai and saw sea turtles daily! The property was clean and the kitchen was well-equipped. We would stay here again when visiting Kauai!

Location was perfect, more steps than I thought. Layout good. Property is older and with high humidity had a problem with musty, mildewey odor, especially in 2nd bedroom and closet as well as washing machine and that area. Seemed to have a problem with being hot or cold and wet. Ocean, sunrise and sunset views awesome. Whales, dolphins and turtles too!
From the moment we got into our condo, we knew it was a great place to spend our vacation. The view of the ocean was wonderful, the condo was clean and inviting. The bedrooms were nice and so nice having 2 bathrooms!
Then we got into making meals. There were plenty of cook wear and dishes and even storage containers. We brought extra spices with us, but were pleasantly surprised to find some at condo as well.
There was information of restaurants, beaches, interesting places to see and farmers markets, etc.
The beach wagon came in very handy, and the other beach accessories.
My overall comment, we felt welcomed and were blessed by such a beautiful place to stay. Thank you!!
This property was perfect for our stay The layout was spacious enough for our family. The kitchen is very well stocked and has everything you could want or need for meal prep/cooking. A full sized washer and dryer made laundry so easy as I’m very used to seeing the compact versions in units. The unit has nicely updated bathrooms and the beds were quite comfortable. We spent mornings and evenings enjoying the stunning views from the patio. An unexpected bonus was a large selection of board games, cards, and books. The location is great, and it is an easy walk to several nearby beaches, a quick drive to restaurants and shopping, and exploring. Communication with the property management was fantastic! Every email had all the pertinent information, and all my additional questions received prompt replies. We would definitely stay here again!
