Welcome to Pu’u Poa, one of the most desired locations on Kauai’s Mystical and Magical North Shore! Located in the community of Princeville on the cliffs above the Blue Pacific, Pu’u Poa 213 will position you perfectly above the waves as you watch honu (turtles) and when in season, Humpback Whales, as they play in the sea below you. Sit on your lanai and watch the endless fascination of white-water waves as they break on the shore.

Enjoy air conditioning throughout this unit to help cool you even on the warmest summer days. There is a well-appointed kitchen, should you want to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or a home-cooked meal while enjoying the view from the living room, dining room, or spacious front lanai. You can enjoy sunsets from the lawn area, a few steps around the corner from this home in the evenings as well.

Princeville features several resorts, golf courses, shops, and attractions, all virtually within walking distance of your condominium. In fact, right next door is the famous Princeville Resort with its fine dining and resort facilities. Pu’u Poa is one of the few resorts on Kauai that offers a cliffside swimming pool, a tennis court, and a path to the Hideaway Beach below. You can also access Pu’u Poa Beach by a path across the street adjacent to the Princeville Resort.

The views from Princeville are endless, whether your preference is the mountains behind you featuring more waterfalls than you can count after a tropical rain or the miles and miles of ocean and coastline. It is just a short drive to Hanalei Town and its world-famous Hanalei Bay Beach and Pier. And for hikers, the best trails on all of Kauai are nearby.

The view is lovely as is the location. The property is in need of a deep cleaning and TLC: Screen doors falling off, 1/2 roll of paper towels;1 roll of toilet paper per bathroom; dirty windows;1 bath towel per person; sheets so worn one could see through them; 4 place settings of flatware, lanais and grill in need of cleaning; very loud AC in living room; TV in guest room broken (we were given a credit for this) ... Cleanliness and AC noise reported to management with no attempt to rectify. Our 20th VRBO accommodation (3rd in Princeville) and certainly the worst. A pity.

We chose this condo based on 2 pictures of amazing balconies overlooking the ocean. The day before our arrival, we were made aware that the glass railing on one of the balconies had temporary plywood vs the glass panels. Vacasa provided a partial refund for this inconvenience. Upon arrival, we found nails and other construction debris on both balconies as well as a rusty screen door. The sliding screen doors to enter the main balcony were rusted and did not operate, falling out of the track each time you slid the door open. The next morning we contacted Vacasa due to a sewage smell emerging in the ensuite bathroom. Later that day, two handymen arrived and indicated the smell was coming from urine spills under the bathtub. They left bottles of Febreze and Lysol spray to mask the horrible smell. They lifted the tub and cleaned beneath it, indicating they would return the next day to re-install the tub. With no relief by the 3rd day, the handymen returned to fully lift and move the tub to find the source of the smell with again no resolution. The sewage smell now spread from the ensuite bathroom into the master bedroom and 2nd bedroom. On the 4th day of the sewage smell, a plumber arrived to investigate, and still no resolution. A contractor on site relayed that there had been a sewage backup below our condo about a month prior. We also spoke with the upstairs neighbor who confirmed a sewage backup and timing. On day 5, the sewage smell became uninhabitable. We insisted on being moved, concerned for our health and safety. Work had begun in the unit below ours included what sounded like a jackhammer. The property manager did at this point agree to rebook us. We found a suitable replacement property, for which we had to fight for, we then had to devote a day of our vacation to move to a new location, which also had no ocean view and AC in only 1 bedroom. In conclusion this unit had beautiful views, and we were sad to leave. We feel we are due a significant refund due to our monetary losses (moving, groceries, etc.), loss of view and AC as well as hardships enduring the horrid smell.

Princeville is a quiet condo tourist community located close to golfing. Hard to get to the beach from this property. When we were driving from the airport to the condo, I got an email that the glass partition on the veranda was broken and boarded up. When we arrived, it looked like the workers had just left. There were nails, razor, paint cans, tools and ladders on the veranda and balcony. If I had a toddler or young child there was no way I’d stay with the condition we found the place and wooden makeshift railing (see pics). I was looking forward to waking up to a view of the ocean but that was blocked by the wood makeshift railing. I did not hear back from anyone for three days after we arrived. I received texts but they didn’t resolve the problem. Since half the view was blocked, I feel we should pay half the price. Other than that, the condo was well appointed and comfortable.

This is a great spot to stay on the north shore. Amazing views and a convenient location. The condo itself is wonderful and the AC was welcome after any long days of hiking.

We have stayed on this island a few times and this is by far the best location. It was only a few minutes of a hike down to the beach and it has the most amazing sunsets! The views of the waves crashing and the sounds make for a very calming stay. The bonus is that there is air-conditioning in every room which keeps the humidity out! We are definitely going to return to the same rental property and same unit next time.
