As you are walking up to the main entrance, you may be greeted by peaceful Koi swimming by but if you miss them no worries as you will surely catch a glimpse of them just as soon as you open the door. Upon entry, be ready to relax as you will see the Koi pond dotted with lilly pads, our bright majestic Koi fish and will hear the sounds of a trickling waterfall & tropical birds.

The home offers many amenities to make your stay on the Big Island of Hawaii enjoyable, some of which include:

The main living area of the home offers easy access to the spacious lanai and pool area, and consists of a fully equipped kitchen, spacious living area, laundry room, half bathroom and the Moana Suite. This bedroom contains a King bed, air-conditioning, is accessible to the pool area, and includes a smart-TV. The bathroom has a soaker tub and walk-in shower.

On the same walkway to the main living area and with separate entrances, you will find the Aina Suite and the Kona Theater Room. The Aina suite is our most recently updated room where you will find a King bed, smart-TV and a large bathroom with a large walk-in shower, and a vanity with dual sinks. The Kona Theater Room includes a large sectional sofa and the room also doubles as the 4th bedroom. There is a Queen Murphy bed.

The Honu Primary Suite is separated from the rest of the home by a tropical courtyard, Koi pond and lava pavers. This suite contains able space to wind down, relax and enjoy your vacation. The home is nicely laid out with some private suites, a beautiful koi pond entrance, privacy from neighbors and comfortable amenities. The location is walking distance to the beach club, the pool is nice for plunging and the patio table large enough for our family. We did experience some downsides: the AC operation is dependent on ALL doors and windows being closed at all times, or it kicks off. One of the door sensors was taped (masking tape) to the door and kept falling off, preventing the AC from working until we had a chance to tape it back up again. We eventually just stopped using the AC during the day. We noticed another reviewer also mentioned this problem. The hot water is solar and most of the time we had hot water, but barely any pressure. It took 47 minutes to fill a bathtub. We only had 2 burners working on the stove as operation is dependent on having the right size pots and pans to fit the burners. The pool pump stopped working on the 2nd day. It took another 3 days for the pool maintenance to fix this. There were a few lighting issues that were never resolved: patio string lights did not work, puck lights in the coffee bar did not work, there is a bathroom light out in the Aina Suite. We found some dead cockroaches in the theater room and the koi pond smelled most of the time (it was only serviced 1x not 5-10x's like the guest book indicates).

I would find it hard to believe anyone having negative things to say about this property. Our party of 7 had plenty of space, it is well stocked and the property itself is a one-of-a-kind gem!! I cant say enough good things about this, you have to experience it yourself to really understand the experience. Only 1 negative- The house is censored for A/C which is great, but we had an issue with the AC in the main portion of the house not working the first 2 days we were there, and it was boiling. I called the Management company and was told that the owner could see a door or window was open, so it won't work. For two days we searched for an open door or window.. nothing. We couldnt cook in the kitchen because it was sweltering. Come to find the morning of our third day, a sensor was laying on the floor and that was the issue with the "door" The only issue I have is if the owner can see that a door or window is a jar cant the provide which one.. *be sure to check for this if you are experiencing any issues with the a/c.

A wonderful and comfortable home for our family vacation. Grandma, Grandpa, two daughters one son in law and two Granddaughters. Plenty of room for all, well furnished, and the pool and view were great. One of the nicest vacation homes we've rented. We'll be back next year.

We really enjoyed our stay at this house. It was very comfortable and we loved the proximity to the beach (it really is a very short walk) as well as the short drive to the golf clubhouse. It was nice to walk over to the hotel along the coastline for lunch too (maybe another ~15 minutes walking). The koi ponds are dramatic, and obviously not childproof, but we were mindful of keeping all the doors closed. The media room was an unexpected surprise to keep us entertained in the evenings.

House was great online and for the most part good in real life. We came from another island and with hopes of doing laundry when we arrived but washing machine not working. Very good response when we called but 12,000 house deserves a way better washer and dryer. Also tv’s very confusing could not watch live tv. Having the temperature set to 74 is a bad idea when it is 90 outside. Gardner’s were at house for 2 hours so we missed out of time outside.

Lovely home, although the bedrooms have exterior entrances in the interior patio area, it worked out for the little ones. Bring your intercom systems! The pool was great and the views couldn’t be beat! Lovely location, a 4 minute walk to the club with a wonderful kid friendly beach and a great outdoor restaurant. We would definitely come back! Thank you for a wonderful family vacation!!
