This is our second time staying in the Kona Coffee Villas condos. The location is ideal to get away from the tourist center and the altitude makes for cool nights, perfect for sleeping. This particular until is clean, well-provisioned and has quiet neighbors. We really enjoyed our stay and will probably come back.
A very professionally run property, communication on check in and location was excellent. Directions and instructions received prior to arrival Val were clear and concise. In general the property was clean and essentially as pictured and described. A good ocean view and excellent amenities (pool, tennis court, bbq and games area) were appreciated and in great condition. Out stay was quite good and in general we enjoyed the property. A few minor issues- the property really is not suitable for extra adults outside of the bedrooms as the couch bed is small and not comfortable, the lanai is much too full of furniture to be comfortable for more than 1-2 people, the level of rules and the hyper security on site makes for an uncomfortable stay, the walls are quite thin and the noise from the construction upstairs was quite disturbing a few mornings, this also made the lanai unusable at times. Overall a decent stay at a new cenoroperty.
We enjoyed the view of the Pacific every night at this condo. Entry was a breeze with the keys located in the door handle lock box. Assigned parking spot is very near the entrance to the condo and also downstairs a flight. It was nice to be able to carry groceries down a flight, instead of a flight.
Condo was very clean and tidy when we arrived. And kitchen was well stocked. However, I am a foodie, and the cookware may have been intended to be nonstick, but was not. It was pretty cheap in nature in my opinion. Nonetheless, there was a very wonderful air fryer, toaster, blender And coffee maker that all worked very very well.
The washer and dryer located inside. The apartment was also stocked with several beach towels and plenty of bath, hand, and wash cloths. There were small samples of shampoo and conditioner, so we were glad we brought our own.
And of course, I must mention the Coqui frogs, who begin their song at dusk, and don’t quit until dawn. They eek out a song that can reach 73db
Surprisingly, even though we could hear them, it didn’t seem to affect our sleep, thank goodness.
The closet when you first come in to the condo is well stocked with recreational items such as basketball, snorkeling, gear, sunscreen, etc. which we really appreciate it. Also several nice beach towels!
I mentioned to the management that the two beach chairs should be absolutely thrown out. One is actually missing the seat, and the other is in very very bad shape.
Also, the chairs around the dining room table are pretty much unusable. The Ratón on the chairs are so concave, that you literally feel like you’re sitting on the frame of the seat.
And lastly, the futon that doubles as a couch is very very uncomfortable. I would replace that as well to something a little more inviting.
But the two side chairs in the living room were plenty comfortable, and we really enjoyed the very large screen TV that was hung on the wall!
In conclusion, we would definitely rent this unit again. The management company was very quick in their response to our questions! I am doubting, we will ever return to Hawaii, as the expense is really beyond our budget. But what a fabulous vacation it was, and if opportunity provides, we will return!
A wonderful location just 30 minutes from the Kona airport. This is a great location as a home base for day trips around the island. The condo was clean and well stocked with everything you could need and plenty big for a family of 4. This is a quiet location which worked well for our family. Would highly recommend this condo to others.
Where to start? We arrived to find no toilet paper. We’re we meant to take our own? It was October. A sign in a bathroom, dated July, says that the fan is not working. Well that isn’t all that wasn’t working. The fan in the living area didn’t work. It was hot and there is no air conditioning. We stayed for a week, and despite numerous communications to the agent it was not fixed. The light in the dining area didn’t work either and also wasn’t fixed. Two other light fittings didn’t work. Wow! What a big disappointment. We have never had to write such a disappointing review. And this was the mist that we have ever paid for a week’s accommodation. We gave five stars to all categories on our stay in a different property with a different agent, so our experience may be a typical for Hawaii. We hope so.
