We have worked hand-in-hand with the land to create a biophilic experience in hopes of offering our guests an inspirational and energizing experience.

I had an amazing time at the cabin! Patrick & Brian are wonderful and kind hosts who went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable (Brian even remembered what type of tea I like!) The location is nice and serene, and was central to everything I had planned during my trip. I couldn’t recommend it enough!

Our time at Hawaiian Acres was wonderful to say the least. Patrick & his partner’s home & space was beautiful and they were such sweet, kind, & attentive hosts. Patrick gave us a tour of the property the night we arrived & every morning of our trip, we were provided with a light breakfast & a lovely conversation. We loved hearing all the sounds of nature during the night, being able to look at the stars (when it wasn’t raining) & meeting all their sweet pets. I truly recommend this stay & would definitely visit again!

When I was first driving to Faris’ Forest, I was wondering why the heck I booked a place out in the middle of nowhere, so far away from amenities. I quickly learned the next day that it’s perfectly placed right between Hilo & Pāhoa ( about 20ish minutes to either town) The cabin was very clean, quaint, & comfortable…a nice place to lay your head @ night & be serenaded by the frogs, & then wake up & have a refreshing shower outdoors. Without a doubt, I appreciated Patrick & Brian’s genuineness, & enthusiasm for all the work they’ve put into their amazing property. All the animals were a nice bonus, too!

Read the description of the property! This is an off grid semi rough landscape so great if you are mobile and enjoy the sounds of the rain forest at night and the occasional friendly geko visiting. Multiple friendly cats and dogs make up the greeters as well! The hosts are wonderful and passionate about land stewardship and responsible living. Great access to volcano park. Goats and chickens and parrots, oh my! The off grid cabins are partly made from recycled materials and are clean and cosy for two. If you go in knowing what to expect you will have a wonderful time! We will be back, don’t tell your Freinds about this place!

Excellent location for exploring Hilo. 30 minute drive with traffic to Volcano National Park, 1 hour to the Observatory, and less than 20 into smaller towns for food. Immaculately clean, and the outdoor shower was great. A little bit of a walk to the bathroom (not an issue at all) and the entire cabin is solar powered separate from the main house! Brian and Patrick were phenomenal hosts. Their place is a spectacular example of a natural, though cared for, garden and I wish I could have seen it in full bloom! Thank you to you both for hosting, and I will definitely see you again the next time I make it to Big Island!

Patrick and Brian showed impeccable hospitality and consistently communicated throughout our stay. The place was as listed, very clean, and there were no surprises upon arrival. To no fault of their own, getting to the property was difficult on our first attempt because of VRBO’s instructions and apple/google maps. Patrick provided a hand written map prior to our stay and was easily accessible when we needed additional guidance. Patrick and Brian were both very knowledgeable about the area and Hawaiian culture and had great excursion recommendations.

If stepping out of the hustle & bustle of daily life is what you’re looking for, then this is it! If you ever wondered about off-grid living or are open to trying something different for your vacation, then do it. Patrick and Brian are lovely hosts and I appreciated their hospitality, suggestions of activities, farm-to-table treats and thoughtful conversations. I am thankful for the time I spent at the farm and on the big island! Mahalo!
