Views from the lanai, watching the sunset, waking up to surfers in the water and falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves was great. Unit was clean and stocked with all the basic needs. In comparison to the other oceanside condo's at this same facility that I have stayed in over the years, this one was on the lower end. The pictures on the website don't exactly represent what it actually looks like. The sliding screen doors are difficult to open, fall of the tracks & need maintenance. The beds are good but the furniture is old and worn. Patio & living room furniture is not what is shown. Shampoo, Conditioner and body wash bottles don't pump properly. Barbeque pit rods need to be replaced, fire was literally coming out of the knobs. I love this facility and will definitely return on my next visit, but will probably go back to one of the other condo's I've stayed in.
Beautiful views and oceanfront living with easy access to tide pools and small beach. Falling asleep to the sounds of the crashing waves was great. Condo is clean and offers basic needs but does need some updating and does not look like the pictures on the website. Patio screen doors to lanai stick and fall off the tracks. Toiletry bottles don’t pump properly. Furniture is old, beds are fine. Fans are available but you will need to sleep with all doors open to stay comfortable.
Right on the ocean in Kona. Close to restaurants and shops.
Kona Bali Kai is always a great place to stay with an awesome ocean view. This Condo was clean and ready for me and the communication was great. Everything was as advertised.
This was our second time staying in this building (different unit). View of the ocean is spectacular! Condo is older but meets all our needs. We were disappointed to see there were no beach chairs provided as visiting different beaches is our main activity .( There is a snorkel set and 2 pool noodles.) We bought 2 chairs and left them in the condo. Hopefully they will be there for the next renters. Other than that we had a great stay here!
Loved this little condo! The views from the lanai were amazing! Spent many mornings and evening just watching the waves. Great location, close to Kona. Traffic out of the condo can be a bit busy at time though. No problem with parking. Inside was clean. Lots of plates/utensils/pots and pans in the kitchen. And loved having the use of the bbq downstairs. Pool/hot tub were nice but we didn’t use it. We’d definitely stay here again! Thanks!
The view and size of patio were absolutely amazing. Perfect spot to watch the sunset. Tidal pool that presented the chance to see some fish and the occasional turtle. Depending on the waves there were often surfers on the ocean at the other end of the building that one can watch. Some items in the room such as the fridge, dishwasher work but cosmetically are in dire need of being replaced. Fridge inside is clean but the outside top specifically was completely rusted. Personally found the comfort of beds were 7 to 8 out of 10. About 40-50 min walk one way into Kona downtown. Was a bus shuttle stop close by that can take you down town if you don't have a car, an option we didn't explore. We chose to drive and had scoped out a couple of free parking places in close proximity to down town. Pool has late morning to early afternoon sun. In the shade as the later afternoon comes along. 2 seperate BBQ areas containing 2 x propane BBQ'. Tanks are brought out mid morning and then taken away around 8 o'clock. One had to be lit with BBQ lighter that was in the room as the self ignite didn't work consistently. We generally were eating at or before sunset so never ran into a problem competing for the grills. Personally were satisified with the unit - we were either out and about or sat in the deck. May stay again based on the view. Expect to overlook a few cosmetic things as this is not a newly renovated unit. If you need a brand new or newly renovated unit be forewarned.
Only spent two days in Kona but the accommodations were perfect for our family of four and location is great.
Lovely pool. Free parking. Watch surfers from the ocean front lanai! This condo is basic, but has everything you need, including WIFI!
While the decor can seem a bit outdated, the fact is you’ll spend all your time on the lanai enjoying the direct ocean views. It was stunning!! The property was well kept and easy to navigate.

The view is stunning. Just gorgeous! I wish that there was air conditioning. One fan per guest is definitely needed. An update to having an air conditioner, at least in the room with the twin beds is needed because there is no airflow. I love the little Hawaiian treats that you left and the beach towels. We had a vehicle so driving to wherever we wanted was a bonus for us so with the location being a little far away from the town and some of the beaches, it wasn’t a big deal.
some sheets did have some stains when we arrived but apart from that it was an amazing stay. Helpful staff and they had all the amenities I needed and more. Highly recommend!
The location is great only couple miles from everything however place is old an starting to show its age

We enjoyed our stay at Kona Bali Kai, it is a great jumping off location to explore the island and can’t beat the views from the lanai. Loved being able to see dolphins, turtles and whales. Tide pools are fun to explore. Unit was a little dated, but was clean and worked well for our family! The unit was well equipped.
