The house is generally as described. It is roomy and beautifully landscaped with a wonderful pool. We had plenty of space for our party of 9. All of the bedrooms except one are air-conditioned so that was pleasant although the rest of the main house got quite warm most of the time we were there. There were two kitchens and two washers and dryers. The location is nice. You can walk to one beach and it's a short drive to the very beautiful Hapuna Beach. So it was an easy place for us to stay. Unfortunately, we encountered a problem on the last night there. There were signs of bugs in two of the beds, including blood spots. We called the property manager who was unable to secure a pest inspection until 2 days later. In the meantime, the property manager asked us not to change the sheets on the beds. Rather than sleep in beds that showed signs of insects, the people sleeping in those two bedrooms went to a hotel for the night. The other bedrooms were unaffected.Gather Vacations notified us 2 days later, after we got home, that there were not bed bugs in the beds but they did not tell us what the issue was. They refused to help with the cost of the hotel and told us we had left voluntarily, which was true although we saw few options, and that because there were not bed bugs per se, we were not eligible for any relief despite the fact that they failed to provide that information until after we were gone.
Excellent property, very private and spacious. Great neighborhood with good walks. Best nearby beaches.Good value for a large group - we were 9 and could have had more. We did not use the Ohana which would handle more folks. Pool much better than we had expected - it is one of the best small pools we have experienced. Bring USB adapters.
This property has 5 bedrooms with baths which are private spaces for large groups. We lived in the pool lanai area as it was so peaceful and comfortable. We used the grill and ate outside every night. Also, beautiful mango's from the tree every day.The location was perfect for us as we love the Kohala coast beaches, exploring Hawi, Waimea, Hamakua, and over the saddle road to Hilo. I love this home and can't wait to return.
A great place for a large multi generational family gathering or a couple of families. Good kitchen, good appliances, plenty of dishes. Nice big open air living room with lots of furniture. Nice garden setting and good bird watching. Close to good beaches.
This house was an amazing place for our group of seven to stay. We had three separate family groups that could separate into their own areas. The pool area is fabulous. The kitchen and dining areas are great. Beach towels, chairs and umbrellas were available for our use and that made the beach much easier. The support staff is amazing. We all want to stay here again!!
This rental was excellent for our extended family with plenty of room for everyone to be together or have private space. The pool was wonderful for the kids and we were in and out of it multiple times a day. The nearby beaches were great, both sandy ones and reef/rocky areas. Lots to see and do. The property is older and a little worn but plenty of character and perfect for our group.
The house was immaculate and spacious for 8 people. The property managers provided excellent service. Only thing was the queen bed in the pool house was a futon or a pullout couch. Would definitely stay again without hesitation.
I loved this place. We had a family reunion with 16 people. 12 of us stayed at this house with plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen was well stocked, the pool was wonderful, and the beach was within minutes. I loved everything about it.
The place was perfect - location, amenities, beauty etc...
We had 7 adults in our group - 3 generations between the ages of 29 and 84. We all found the perfect bedroom for our needs. The bedrooms have A/C splits, and the common areas are cooled with ceiling fans and open windows. There was a quiet place for each and every one of us to relax, read, or work, as well as plenty of space for us to gather for meals, games, and conversation. There are two separate washers and dryers, which made it easy for us to keep up with laundry. The main kitchen has lots of pots, pans, utensils, dishes, and glassware, plus cleaning supplies. There are two smaller kitchens, which are great for refrigerator/freezer storage and for the use of a second oven, which we used for Christmas dinner. We also enjoyed the pool, which is nice and cold - a perfect place to cool down on a hot day. We had a couple of minor issues arise, and Eilis was responsive and took responsibility. We would recommend this property to any family wanting to stay close to resorts and beaches.
