Hanalei Colony Resort E1 - modern ocean view apartment in north shore Kauai's only true beachfront resort. These unique Hanalei vacation rentals are just steps away from the secluded sandy beach that fronts the property! Opakapaka Bar and Grill is just across the parking lot, as is the Hanalei Day Spa if you're looking to pamper yourself. Just a few minutes past the charming town of Hanalei, you'll find that shopping and dining options are conveniently close. It's the perfect Kauai vacation rental for proposals, honeymoons, anniversaries, and other romantic occasions.

This downstairs corner condo has a lovely ocean view and it takes just moments to walk across the grass and onto the sand. You'll enjoy the large shady lanai and peaceful sounds of the surf. There is one bedroom, furnished with a king bed. For privacy, it can be closed off from the rest of the unit with sliding shoji screens which still allow air flow to keep you cool at night. A second bedroom is furnished with a day bed, giving you the option to sleep an additional person You can use the room as a home office if it's a working vacation for two. It also has sliding shoji screens for visual privacy. The living and dining areas are comfortably furnished and there are dramatic ocean views from each of the large picture windows. You won't mind cooking in the efficient, open kitchen which has everything you need to prepare simple home-cooked meals or serve up your take-out with style. While there are no televisions in the apartments, wifi is provided so you won't be completely cut off from the modern world. (Only as cut off as you wish to be.) Hanalei Colony Resort E1 is a Kauai vacation rentals stand-out!

As a guest at a privately managed unit in the resort, you are invited to make full use of all of the facilities such as swimming pool, jacuzzi, barbecue area, and guest laundry room. Certain services provided by the resort staff are not available to private renters, such as the towel exchange window, and the resort shuttle.

While wonderfully furnished and right next to the beach, please know that the development was built in simpler times. The units are smaller and have kitchens to match. Some normal amenities will be absent given the space and purposeful attempt to honor the simplicity of earlier times: you won’t find a dishwasher or washing machine in any of the units (there is a laundry room on the premises), and most units have no televisions ...

As described. Management and check in were excellent. Kitchen just ok, but not a big deal since we planned to eat out the whole time. Would love to have salt and a small thing of cooking oil, but we got by fine. Would stay here again. Excellent coffee place next door and the landscaping was amazing.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Enjoyed the stay. Quiet, great sunrises. I have a drone, surf was high so great videos. Ke'e sunsets were fantastic. Flew over Tunnels to get sunsets.

Would definitely return to this property if we’re lucky enough to visit again. Clean, spacious, and beautiful location. It’s definitely secluded, which is exactly what we wanted. Short drive to beaches, restaurants, and other activities on the North Shore.

We really loved this place. We were hiking the wilderness trail and wanted to be close to the trailhead. This place has a good view of the ocean and access is less than 20 yards from the porch. A five minute walk down the beach gave us a calm zone for swimming/snorkeling when we visited 9/29-10/8. We saw turtles there and a resting beached monk seal. We would rate the restaurant at 6/10, its convenient, beautiful view of the water, we loved the fries and poke nachos. And it has a large bar area. The rest of the food there was ok. The condo is very close to Hanalei Bay, which has more food options. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were high thread count and really nice. We didn’t cook there so I don’t have anything to say regarding the cooking supplies. The condo can easy give privacy to two bedrooms by pulling wood dividers closed, and each “bedroom zone” includes a bathroom. Or you open it all up, as we did. There is no air conditioning, it’s ceiling fans, screen doors and windows, we found this to be sufficient each day. We would stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, simple, comfortable, beautiful location on the north shore.

This is our second Hawaiian holiday (Maui, Oahu and Kauai) and Hanalei is our favourite spot so far. The apt is comfortable with good kitchen supplies, reasonable beds, showers and good beach supplies ( chairs, umbrella and snorkel masks). The internet is good but there is no AC and no TV. The resort has a very nice pool and a great BBQ area with tools, fridge and covered seating for a large family. You need to go elsewhere for a swimable beach. Restaurants in town we liked included Chicken in a barrel and the pizza joint in town. Postcards restaurant is a way overpriced place with small portions.. don’t bother.. Bar Acuda sounds great but make reservations way ahead of time.. we couldn’t get in.. Hawaiian surfing adventures in town is a great place to learn the basics.. Overall we’ll be back to Hanalei and probably back to this resort…

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was peaceful and well maintained and our unit was clean and tidy. There were a couple "deep clean once every so often" items that could have been tended to, but kitchen, bathrooms, and beds were spotless. We enjoyed walking the beaches, the pool, and the coffee shop daily and also ate twice at the restaurant. Our desire to be away from tourist crowds was easy. We will be back!
