  • Sleeps 2

Set in a charming courtyard of heritage plantation homes on Waimea Plantation Cottages resort, this 1-bedroom ocean-view cottage will not disappoint. Cottage 66 was built around 1916. It has been lovingly refreshed, but still retains the vintage cottage style of plantation times. The name on this cottage was "Pulapula" which in Hawaiian means "planting of seed cane" and connects it to the history of the former sugar cane plantation.

The home offers ocean views from the living area and off the small private lanai. The interior features a comfortable sitting area, dining table, fully equipped kitchen, and large bathroom with a separate tub and shower.

Guests of Cottage 66 enjoy all the privileges of the resort including the oceanfront pool, lobby check-in, complimentary Wi-Fi, complimentary guest laundry use, daily newspapers in the lobby and business kiosk for printing boarding passes. In addition, you may request towel and linen refresh, borrow beach chairs and umbrella from the front desk for your favorite beach on Kauai, and recent release movies for your in-cottage DVD player.

You'll love the 2-mile long black-sand, walking beach with spectacular sunsets and amazing stargazing. There is an on-property casual dining restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining.

Note on beaches: the Waimea River enters the ocean about a mile east of the property bringing silt from the canyon into the ocean. The currents pull the silt along the ocean in front of the beach. There are two swimmable beaches with lifeguard stations nearby. Kekaha Beach, is a 5-minute drive to the West. It is the longest white sand beach in Hawaii. It is wide and flat. To the east near Hanapepe Town is Salt Pond Beach. There is a lovely protected swimming area, picinic tables and restrooms....
