Paradise Retreat is your own private resort on Hawai'i’s Big Island. Relax and enjoy the swimming pool and hot tub in our private, fully enclosed back yard. Lounge poolside in the sun-soaked chaise chairs or stay cool on the covered lanai. In the evenings, enjoy starry nights and listen for the waves crashing just a few blocks away.

The home is designed to collect the island trade-winds and naturally cool the interior, especially during the evening hours with the A/C off and the windows open. Our A/C systems efficiently cools the home during warm days, if necessary, using only solar during the day-light hours.

Our home has been recently updated, is fully furnished and stocked with linens, pool towels and all the kitchen items you'll need for cooking your favorite meals. Water from our well is filtered and UV-treated before entering the home.

Paradise Retreat has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The main bedroom suite has a king-sized bed, en-suite bathroom with slate tiled shower AND jetted bathtub. The two additional bedrooms share a bathroom with a bathtub and shower. One of these bedrooms has a queen size bed and the other has two twin beds. The third bathroom is in the large laundry room. We provide a washer and dryer for laundry and a starter supply of laundry strips to avoid large plastic detergent jugs.

Located in Keaau just south of Hilo, Paradise Retreat is in a great place for day trips to Volcanoes National Park, Hilo, Pahoa and the heritage Hamakua Coast. Let us point you in the right direction for adventures, cultural sites and ocean activities. Our neighborhood is quiet at night except for the mesmerizing Coqui frogs. Please respect quiet hours 9pm to 8am by keeping noise levels low. If you can’t hear the Coqui’s, it’s too loud. Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved this house so much. Our family of 6 had everything we needed and more space than we knew what to do with. Everything was immaculately clean and the contacts were professional.We enjoyed the pool and hot tub very much and it was great to have the full size laundry.The house is close enough to Hilo that it’s not a pain, unless you get traffic that’s busy, then it takes awhile. But there’s lots to do in that area.We really enjoyed the east side of the island, especially Volcanoes NP.We did have to take 1 day to go to the West side and try the snorkeling and a luau. It’s a long 2+ hr drive but great scenery and worth the trip!

The Paradise Retreat is everything advertised and more. The location is serene, beautiful, and removed from the hustle and bustle of life. The house is fully equipped with all the modern conveniences and comforts; and clean as a whistle. We loved the kitchen in particular. The lanai, swimming pool, hot tub, and yard are awesome and very private and restful. We had a wonderful time in the surrounding community. Hilo is a great town and loved the proximity to the volcanoes national park. This is definitely a 5 star plus vacation home.

We had spent 7 nights on Kauai and Oahu. We were in need of some rest . This was the place to rest and finish out our vacation. Great place. First time using VRBO and will not be the last if we are able to pick houses this nice. Jerry

We were travelling with our kids and grandparents and were not disappointed with this house. The backyard is very big. Lots of grass space to play games such as football, frisbee, bocce etc. The pool is a great size with different sitting areas and the hot tub is a nice added bonus. The inside of the house was clean and spacious and had everything we needed with nice appliances. Thank goodness for A/C! We also liked the board games. The neighborhood is nice. We had a great time and could have stayed longer... Thank you!
