    Hawaii> Waikoloa Village
    • 3 bedroom
    • 2 bathroom
    • Sleeps 8

Spacious house with gorgeous sunset views from the lanai. Beautifully decorated in a combination of Hawaiian and SE Asian style. New tile floors and tiled shower in master bathroom. Large and nicely landscaped garden and yard including a gazebo.

The house is about a 30 minute drive from Kona airport and 15-20 minutes from the beautiful kohala coast beaches. There is a shopping center with restaurants, a grocery store and a gas station about 2 miles away. The Waikoloa Village Golf Club is just a 5 minute drive. Beach equipment and 3 sets of golf clubs are available in the garage. A/C in master bedroom only, though Waikola winds and plenty of fans keep the house cool for most of the year.

We had a lovely time at Sunset House. The booking, check-in and communications were amazing. Could not have asked for a nicer place. We had the most use out of the amazing lanai and gardens. The hammock was an added treat. There were two cats living in the backyard, who were so cute. They made for the lovely company. Huge thanks for taking such good care of them. Sunset house is a great place to relax, as it is quite a bit far from most attraction (30 mins to Waimea, 45 mins to Kona). It was exactly what we needed after a week of adventure.

This home was even better than the pictures show online. It’s thoughtfully furnished with anything you’d need to visit the beach and well stocked with spices for cooking. There are also lots of family-friendly board games. The mattresses are comfortable, the view and landscaping are incredible, and the neighborhood is nice and quiet but only a 15-20 minute drive from some of the best beaches on the Big Island. For those concerned about the lack of central air, it’s not necessary in the upper elevations as the breeze cools the house quickly once you open the windows. (Lowering the sliding door blinds during peak hours also helps significantly) If you need the extra cooling, the window unit in the master bedroom is powerful. The owner was very kind and easy to reach. My family and I are already planning our return.

The property is a great option for family. The house is big, clean, and homey. It is located in a residential area in Waikoloa Village. One thing to note is the house does not have a centralized AC. It has a window typed AC in the Master BR. We find their beach stuff (umbrella, chairs, snorkel masks, etc) an added bonus and very helpful for us. Communication with Kendra was great from the beginning until the end of our stay.
