Our resort is known for its proximity to Punalu’u Beach, with its famous Black Sand Beach, luscious palm trees, surrounding lily pond and frequent visits from Honu (green sea turtles). Snorkel, swim, play in a tide pool, lay back and read your favorite book, or people-watch under the shade of a palm tree.
A short walk in front of the resort and you’ll find your very own private beach, a magical spot to bring a charcuterie board and watch the waves and abundant marine life (it is not recommended to swim here – strong currents and rocky shoreline).
‘Olu‘olu is a truly remarkable place, providing both a serene and energetic environment unlike anywhere else on the planet. We happily welcome you to our home and look forward to hearing all about the discoveries you make on your journey.

The location was amazing! The pool and hot tub were wonderful. The condo itself needed maintenance. Some of the dishes in the cabinets were not cleaned and the main kitchen utensil drawer was missing a knob. The bedroom door would not stay shut as the louver doors did not stay on the track, the back porch was wonderful but needs four chairs not just two. We liked that they had several fans in the unit and chairs and umbrella for the beach. Check-in was easy..

Fridge was very noisy- sounded like a jet plane taking off-
Bi-fold door needs to be better secured when close- breeze keep blowing it open & close- disturbed sleep as there were high winds, in area, for 4 days.
Followed check-in procedures , when we got to condo- no keys in lockbox, finally found out that checkin procedures had changed- called housekeeper & finally got in. Contacted property manger who informed me of the new procedures, of which I had not been informed of the change.
We will be returning to area in near future as we have family there. Will seal another condo.

Small hiccup with checkin, but the property manager quickly resolved the issue. Heat of summer is tough, trade winds weren’t quite enough for us but we managed to rest and sleep well. Bring something from Kona to grill, there isn’t much around the area for resupply (as the description states).
Overall, a great place to see the black sand beaches and south point.

We had a great stay here and were able to just walk over to the Punulu'u black sand beach in a few minutes and hang out with some sea turtles. Definitely one of my favorite places to visit in Hawaii! The place was clean and had everything we needed even though we mostly just slept there and were out most of the day, but everything was very comfortable. It was only 30 minutes from the volcano area and also close to the south point and green sand beach. There isn't an a/c but we didn't need it, the ceiling fans were sufficient and we didn't even have to employ the other fans that were available. We would happily stay there again if we are in the area.
