We used VRBO to book and somehow my name didn’t show up on their system. This resulted in troubles checking in on a Saturday night. We were put in a temporary room so that our issue could be sorted out the next day. When we moved to our booked room the next day, my little one forgot her Bluetooth speaker in the first room. We were never able to recover the speaker. Either the next guest took it, our housekeeping took it.
Pono Kai is my preferred place to stay…it’s convenient to everything. This was likely a timeshare, as the furnishings were identical to many others. The beds were very comfortable, but the living room furniture wasn’t. The couch was especially difficult to get comfortable on…not any better as a bed, I’d guess, but we didn’t try that. All in all, it worked for us. Liked having the ocean view…so much nicer than anything. Well, other than ocean view! Mahalo!
Loved Pono Kai condo! It had everything we needed and more. Location was good! Walking distance to variety of places to eat. Walking sidewalk that goes for miles along the ocean. We had a rented car and the condo was located in area easy to find all. We played croquet several times. Pretty pool area. Beautiful landscaping all around. It’s a keeper!.

We have stayed at Pona Kai several times and have enjoyed our stay. It is close to the airport and other amenities. Love the pathway for walking and running.
The property is very clean and nicely maintained. The staffs are very friendly and responsive. The apartment is pretty big for a family of 4 and has all the amenities for a family. The location is also convenient to other part of the island and easy to walk to restaurants. Good value for family.
Everything was great except for the back up of traffic in that area

Pono Kai offered everything we were looking for in a holiday destination. Clean and comfortable; beside the beach; on the edge of town. Complex facilities included pool, BBQs, laundry, equipment hire, lawn games. It is a short, flat walk to shops and restaurants. Excellent value for money.
We loved our stay at Pono Kai resort - We several needed some items from housekeeping, the response was overall fast. The resort is very clean and the grill areas are well kept and clean. Thank you!

Bedrooms were comfortable with air conditioning. Resort has convenient BBQ s throughout the complex which we used. Pool and spa were nice. We enjoyed morning walks on a 2+ mile trail adjacent to the beach. Parking was plentiful and each building has an elevator. We enjoyed our week at the Pono Kai.
