Kanai A Nalu (“Gentle Breeze”) is located in Maalaea; a place often called “Maui’s best kept secret”. Our condo is direct OCEANFRONT, BEACHFRONT! You simply cannot get any closer to the ocean than our beautifully upgraded, ground floor unit!
From the lanai, gaze out and watch the sun rise over Haleakala (House of the Sun), the long dormant 10,000 foot volcano. Watch green sea turtles bobbing up for air and rolling in the surf, even sunning themselves on the beach. In the winter months (Nov-April) you will have a front row seat to breaching whales as they come back to the islands to give birth and nurse their young in the warm Hawaiian waters. In the summer months during a good south swell, you can watch surfers on the legendary surf break “Freight Trains”, one of the world’s fastest surfable waves.
Brew yourself a cup of freshly ground Kona coffee and make up a plate of local papaya, mango and bananas and sit out on the lanai with the Pacific Ocean just steps away. Why settle for less when you’ve come all this way to experience paradise?
You may find that a week (or even a month) is not enough time to fully appreciate this place. We welcome long-term renters, retirees and snowbirds to come and stay awhile!
Kids are welcome too: we provide the playpen, highchair and beach toys. They’ll love swimming in the complex pool and picking bananas from the tree right beside the lanai!
Be one of the first to enjoy our recently remodeled ground floor 2 bed, 2 bath condo. Travertine floors throughout, new granite countertops and all new furnishings. Details are important to us, that is why we transported unique lighting fixtures thousands of miles in our suitcases and made custom accent bedding and pillows for the bedrooms. We’ve installed some great perks like electric blinds, plantation shutters and a wine cooler. Even the things that may not be noticeable like quality fixtures, nice doors and a good quiet garbage disposal all work together to create a luxurious feeling.
On top of that we filled the space with original local art from Maui artisans. In the living room, we have showcased the beautiful fine art photography of Christopher Eagan (Lahaina). In the kitchen we had 2 large custom tile mosaics crafted by Makena Tile. In the master bath, a floor to ceiling bamboo design in etched tile by Janie Aldrige.
The Master Suite is truly a oceanfront retreat, with a King sized platform bed, flat screen TV...

We stayed at the McKenna condo for 10 nights and it was very well equipped with everything we needed for a great stay. You cannot beat the view in addition with being on the ground floor, we loved it. The ocean is right there and falling asleep to the waves crashing every night was so relaxing. The complex was busy but we never had any noise issues and there was always plenty of space to spread out at the pool and beach. Todd and Cindy were quick to respond to any questions or issues we had. It was a great stay, thank you for hosting us!!

Beautifully decorated ocean front condo. Super convenient starting place for all Maui destinations. Excellent beginner snorkeling at lava rocks just to the left of the condo.Walking distance to delicious pizza, ice cream cookie sandwiches, coffee food truck & great happy hour!

I cannot say enough about the hospitality of the McKenna's and all of the thoughtful details in their lovely condo - well appointed and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Perfectly situated in Central Maui and next to Maalaea Harbor.

We have been fortunate enough to be able to come to Maui more than a few times, staying in Kanai a Nalu and also neighbouring condos.
This one is just perfect. So nice inside and decor and location is ideal.

The lising photos do not do jusice to the condo. The furnishings and decor are exceptional, yet the condo is very comfortable and felt like home. The kitchen was well stocked for meal prep. Although Maui is going through a tough time, there were no shortage of things to do and we went on several excursions. The condo is centrally located which made travel to events simple. There are a few shops, restaurants, boating excursions, and the Maui Ocean Aqrarium at the Maalaea Harbor which are within walking distance from the condo. Although there is a sea wall directly in front of the condo, the access to the beautiful beach is only steps away with great swimming, snorkeling, and long beach walks available. The condo is stocked with beach equipment making beach days very enjoyable. We were sorry to leave but definitely will be back. Thanks Todd and Cindy for sharing your beautiful condo and for all the valuable communication leading up to and during our stay.

We just spent 2 weeks at this condo. It was the perfect home away from home. The location was central for all of our Maui adventures. The condo is beautifully appointed, and had everything we needed. Plenty of beach toys, a great kitchen and beautiful views. And a huge plus… the beds were super comfy. We would not hesitate to book this wonderful condo again.

Staying in this beautiful oceanfront condo made our first trip to Maui a wonderful stay. The unit was more than adequately supplied with everything to meet basic needs which as a frequent traveling family, we don’t always see. The central location made it so easy to get out and adventure in Maui’s beautiful environment. The beach chairs, boogie boards, towels and snorkel gear were such gifts to utilize while we stayed. Thank you for making this trip easy and memorable!
