WILDFIRE UPDATE: Our condo is located in south Maui, in the village of Maalaea. West Maui is currently closed off due to recent wildfires, but other parts of the island are still open. Our property and the surrounding area are safe. Local officials including Maui's mayor and police chief have reiterated that Maui is not closed - only west Maui. They also emphasized how the majority of Maui's residents rely on tourism dollars, and they simply asked that visitors are respectful and don't attempt to visit the affected areas.
Crew Rest Maui is a hidden gem at the north end of Ma'alaea Bay in South Maui. Our privately owned two bedroom, two bathroom beachfront 'home away from home' is a corner unit on the second floor of a four-story building directly at the water's edge. Our private lanai is directly oceanfront and looks across to neighboring Islands, the world-famous Molokini crater, and 10,000 foot Haleakala. It provides the perfect place to relax, watch the waves, and even see humpback whales during whale season.
There are HUGE benefits to a corner unit on the second floor, and it's important to understand why the location of the unit in the complex makes such a huge difference.
Corner units offer: the added security of not being at ground level, the privacy of having bedroom windows looking out on the beautiful courtyard, pool and ocean instead of sidewalk and parking lot and the absence of foot traffic past your private lanai. (Before booking in Kanai a Nalu, understand that the guest bedrooms of non-corner units look out onto the parking lot. Our guest bedroom has a FULL view of the ocean and pool area.)
The master bedroom has a comfortable California King-size bed with a private bathroom and wall-to-wall windows with panoramic views of the beach, gardens, and pool/BBQ area. A second full bathroom with shower/tub combo is across a small alcove from the second bedroom, which has a queen bed. (Our condo sleeps a maximum of 4 adults, or 5 guests total for families with children.)
We have gone above and beyond to provide you the little touches to make your stay as comfortable as possible and make Crew Rest Maui feel like your home away from home. You'll enjoy updated decor, ceiling fans throughout, and A/C in every single room. There are plenty of plush beach towels, some dish/laundry soap to get you started, beach toys and boogie boards, liquid hand soap in the bathrooms, velvet non-slip hangers, Keurig coffee ...

I loved this condo! I could hear the waves crashing all night from the master bedroom. Iys a great central location for those who want to visit all of the island by car. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if u like to walk everywhere bc there’s not a whole lot walking distance but I loved the location & the condo. Stephanie was easy to get a hold of when I had a question. We truly loved staying here & plan to again!

I loved this condo! I could hear the waves crashing all night from the master bedroom. Iys a great central location for those who want to visit all of the island by car. Wh enjoyed our stay and would return to this init specifically. The condo was well furnished with extra amenities like enough coffee pods to get started, condiments in the fridge and spices in the cupboard. The owner was at the unit just before us and bought a bottle of organic EVOO!

Thank you for being wonderfully hospitable hosts with prompt communication, fully stocked beach gear, and offering many local recommendations to make our stay in Maui so delightful. They even left a thoughtful welcome gift! The location of the accommodation is in close proximity to the beach and in a quiet, less-commercialized area. Crew Rest was a haven in the midst of the wildfires. Our prayers and hearts go out to the amazing people here pressing on and rebuilding from the devastation. We will definitely try to stay here again in the future when we return to Maui!

Crew Rest Maui was amazing! The property is located in a secluded bay that is quiet and peaceful. The ocean is right at your back door. You can see the turtles swimming right from the lanai. We walked the beach every morning. We will definitely be back!
