After Booking the owner reached out & stayed in contact sending me small videos & photos. When we arrived he met us with is local Host to check us in showed us what we needed to know offering also helping us with food and activities. This is a really cool old beach house. The entire back of the house literally opens up so you get the ocean breeze coming through house. Has a putting green something I could use the extra practice on. Feeding eels had fish daily loved it. The sunsets almost every night were so breathtaking. The ocean hitting the shore is the most relaxing and powerful sounds we have ever experienced. The master room has 2 sliding doors to the balcony coffee on the deck in the morning & late nights seeing the ocean with the moon shining on it. The Bedroom my mom chose was the other Bedroom on the second floor out side the full back deck it also had a door to the deck. She would have coffee in the mornings and sit out at night and enjoy the fresh air. The last room was nice for mom cause it had an ADA bathroom that she used exclusively. 4 bathrooms was pretty amazing. We cooked Steak and crab as they even had a steam basket. Then there’s the pool and the hot tub & the yard. It was kept up really well we used the pool when we were there as well as the hot tub. This place more than met our expectations. It was like having our own resort for 3. I would recommend anyone to come here to this place The owner & the host went above and beyond here.1000 Mahalo's
We truly enjoyed our time at this vacation home. Great waterfront location.. The ocean view, the sound of crashing waves, and the one-of-a-kind saltwater swimming pool all combined to equal complete relaxation! The open-air Hawaiian home, with its wide-open doors, allowed us to experience and feel the ocean breeze, which was welcomed since there was no home air conditioning.Great bedding and well-laid-out restrooms in an open home with a downtown Kona location. Will visit again someday soon. Please note. Best experienced for adult travelers. We had little ones who needed extra supervision due to the ocean wall and them running around, chasing geckos. They loved it! Aloha
This oceanfront Kona home is a rare gem—perfectly located, beautifully appointed, and ideal for families or seasoned travelers. As frequent visitors to Hawaii and former vacation rental owners, we were thoroughly impressed. Captain Mark is a superb host, with excellent communication and a warm, helpful local team. Check-in was flawless, and responses to questions came within moments. The setting is truly breathtaking: the pool sits on a peninsula with panoramic ocean views, overlooking a vibrant natural aquarium filled with sea turtles, colorful fish, and more. The home feels both spacious and private, with thoughtful features like a first-floor walk-in shower and ramp to the pool—perfect for our elderly parents.Despite mid-July heat, the home remained cool thanks to ocean breezes, large fans, and bi-fold doors—no air-conditioning needed. The kitchen was fully stocked, and we lacked nothing in two weeks. From beach chairs and snorkels to games like putt-putt and cornhole, every detail was covered. This stay was unforgettable, and we can't wait to return. Mahalo, Captain Mark!
So close to town. Beautiful views.
From booking, to check in, to checkout. Mark, Shellese, and this gorgeous home were amazing. The view as you enter the house and see the Pacific Ocean through the back of the house will take your breath away. The constant ocean breeze flowing through the house keeps the place perfectly comfortable both day and night. The master bedroom is practically heaven, with its private balcony and 2 sliding glass doors. We slept to the sounds if crashing waves every single night. The sunsets from the back deck are stunning and create a dream environment for unending after a fun day exploring all that the island has to offer. I have to add that as amazing as this property is, Mark and Shellese are equally as amazing. They truly welcomed us as ohana. They are two of the greatest people you will meet in Kona. From welcoming us with open arms, providing tips and suggestions for places to eat and things to see, to being graciously accomodating in any needs we might have with check in and check out. We honestly can't get our next trip planned quick enough. We will 100% be back to this property in the future.
The house was everything we needed..plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms..and with a drop dead view and breezes. Walkable to town with a shuttle stop just down the street. Everyone enjoyed the spa and feeding the eels (they finished off the lunch meat and bread on checkout). The owner was super helpful and very responsive.Hated to leave and would love to go back.
If you want a convenient ocean front property this is it. This authentic, old Hawaiian beach house has a spectacular, convenient location, stunning ocean views and sunsets and the pool/jacuzzi make you never want to leave. Ocean breezes flow through the house so while there is no AC, it's not needed. It is an older home so don't expect perfection but the owner and team do everything possible to make your stay unforgettable. Home is stocked with everything you need from a fully stocked kitchen, beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, sand toys and coolers. For location and price point it's an amazing property!
As Captain Mark calls it, it is a beautiful old beach house. The doors opening to the pool and ocean beyond kept the place as cool as the out of doors and brought the ocean air throughout the house. Having a little one there made for a bit of a challenge in that she had to be watched continuously, but we knew that going in. The pool is a saltwater pool, but ocean saltwater, which was obviously necessary because the big waves splashed into it. The rooms without direct opening to the ocean could be a little warmer, but not unbearably so. The only issue we had was the frequency of visits by the owner or manager or gardener or pool guy. The communication was outstanding. It did make it feel a little less like “our” place during the stay. All of that said, it was a wonderful place for my family’s vacation.
This is a great house. RIGHT on the ocean. The pool is great. Will definitely rebook.
The location of the property is amazing. The house has ample space. Plenty of beds are available. The kitchen is well equipped. Pool is nice. The pool deck however needs some attention.
During our stay, the weather was extremely humid and our little baby felt very hot and uncomfortable. The only air conditioner in the master bedroom however was out of order. Otherwise our stay was very enjoyable. The host and the manager were very helpful and friendly.
This was such a wonderful place to spend two weeks with family. We all enjoyed the pool a lot. The house has spaces to enjoy solitude if you need to and spaces to be all together without feeling squished. The number of spices, condiments, etc. in the kitchen was nice. Going down Alii drive easily takes you to shopping and eating close by. Mark and Shellese were on top of everything-the communication was great.
Mark was absolutely fantastic to deal with and as well the check in process with his on-site manager was easy after our long flight. The home is just as advertised!! Hearing the ocean waves crash into the pool and the views at night of the sunset were out of this world.
Close to downtown and everything we could possibly need was at the house including ice chests, beach chairs, BBQ, body boards....the list is endless.
Trust me, you will not be disappointed in your stay at this wonderful home. We will be back!!

Best location in Kailua-Kona. The surf can reach the pool. The salt water pool was the most soothing experience. Perfect sunsets sitting at the outside dining table. The house is older but has that oceanside feel of perfection. My family all agreed this was their best vacation experience ever.
A special thanks to Mark.
This property was absolutely perfect for our family’s Hawaiian Christmas. The location is phenomenal. All of us loved sleeping to the sound of crashing waves, the beautiful sunsets and spotting all of the sea life through out the day! There was plenty of space for all 10 of us. The house had everything we needed and more. Mark and his team think of everything! The consistent communication ahead of our trip made us even more excited. Thank you Mark for giving us the perfect place to create life long memories for 3 generations of our family! We would love to come back one day!!
