Ohana Beach Retreat welcomes you to a beautifully remodeled 2 BR / 2 BA Townhouse at Keauhou Kona Surf & Racquet Club. Our townhouse, in this oceanfront complex, exudes pride of ownership with beautiful & comfortable furnishings, art work, entertainment systems, items for beach use and the Aloha spirit in every room creating a home designed for comfort and relaxation! This is a highly desirable, quiet, family-friendly and gated 14 acre garden community with cultural sites and the ocean only steps away.
*We have recently installed a split zone air conditioning unit which comfortably cools the downstairs and both bedrooms upstairs!*
The tropical setting, views from the resort and close proximity to the sand and surf will offer you all the comforts of a hotel with plenty of space to spread out and relax. You will also have the convenience of being able to prepare your meals in a fully prepped kitchen with refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, stove, oven and more.
In addition to all the linens, starter supplies of soaps, and paper supplies, we also include a cooler, beach towels, beach umbrella, beach chairs, boogie boards, tennis racquet's, pickleball racquets and balls to supplement your land and sea excursions.
Our townhouse has had a major renovation this past year. From top to bottom it is new and you will love what it has to offer! Solid granite kitchen counters, stainless steel appliances and a washer and dryer downstairs for ease of access & use. The bathrooms offer either a large walk-in shower or a tub/shower combination with new tile work throughout. The downstairs has new wood flooring, and the bedrooms have new carpet. Additionally, there is a new queen sized sleeper sofa in the living room for added guest comfort.
*Upstairs the master bedroom has a California king size bed and the 2nd bedroom has two twin beds (easily converted to a King upon request PRIOR to arrival). Both bedrooms are furnished with comfortable linens & bedding, ample closet & dresser space and cable TV. There is also a comfortable sleeper sofa in the living room for that extra one or two guests.
Our townhome comfortably accommodates 5 but can sleep up to 6, with 2 people on the sleeper sofa and two in each upstairs bedroom.
From the private ground floor Lanai you can relax and enjoy the tropical breeze, or take a short walk and watch Spinner Dolphins swim the coastline, whales breaching during their migration and incomparable sunsets with the ocean waves literally breaking in front of you. Bring some of our beach chairs and a pitcher of your favorite drink and relax as you watch the sun slowly set beyond the horizon each evening and view the light in the sky dance and change hues moment by moment.
We are located in the upscale Keauhou area, our complex is a highly desirable, quiet, family-friendly and gated 14 acre garden community featuring 3 lighted tennis courts with a pickleball court (tennis pro available), a swimming pool that was fully refurbished in October 2016 and wonderful community BBQ and picnic areas and a grass volleyball court.
*Our unit IS NOT ocean facing but you can hear the lull of the waves and peacefulness of the gardens. We are a short 1-2 minute walk to the beautiful beach adjacent to the property.
We are a short 7 minute walk to Kahalulu'u Beach Park which boasts the best snorkeling and turtle viewing on the island. We are also just a short 4 minute drive to the beautiful Magic Sands Beach. Where you can play in the water, boogie board, play volleyball or just sit back and relax. We are ideally located to many of the popular locations on the island.
There is a designated parking spot only 20 feet from the front door and a secure WIFI connection in the unit; both are free for our guests. If you enjoy a game of tennis, you will be delighted with our newly resurfaced, premier tennis courts which are also free for our guests. We even supply 4 racquets and tennis balls for your enjoyment as well as pickleball racquets and balls! There is a volleyball area, two separate pavilions and a grey sand beach with petroglyphs and turtles just a couple minutes walk from the unit.
If you like to BBQ we can happily accommodate that as well. The complex has several gas and charcoal BBQ's. Our guests also enjoy the convenience of a shopping center complete with restaurants, drug store, groceries, and URGENT care 1/2 mile away. The shopping mall also has free hula shows on Friday nights and a farmers market on Saturday mornings. If you are a golfer there is excellent golfing available at the adjacent Kona Country Club Ocean Golf Course.
This lovely unit is perfect for a couple, a family or a few friends enjoying a holiday break together.

Great location and amenities. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. Lots of info for activities in the area. Excellent place to watch the sunset. Great hosts with easy access by phone and email.

This townhouse was exactly as described, stocked with everything that you need, including sharp kitchen knives! This unit is close to the common beach & complex pool. The complex is in an excellent location, as we've stayed here before, just far enough south of town. My wife & I would recommend the owners anytime! Thank you! - Jim

Thank you for the wonderful accommodation! Our family of 6 really enjoyed staying here, and found it plenty big enough for two adults and four kids - ages 14-23.
The kitchen was well equipped, and the bedrooms cool and comfortable. The pool was always clean and had plenty of lounge chairs. We also found the boogie boards, snorkel gear, beach umbrellas and soft cooler invaluable for our day trips around the Island.
Awesome location - just close enough to shopping and central Kona, but far enough away to not have the noise and bustle of the tourist traffic.
The only recommendation would be to have a surf board or two available to use, as the townhouse is within walking distance of a popular surfing beach (Kahalu’u Beach Park)

I am not one for reading lengthily reviews so I’ll bullet point it to make it easy.
- Location is solid
- Takes 3 minutes to walk to beach
- Beach is pretty but not swim-able (recommend water shoes due to rocks)
- Townhome has 2 bedrooms upstairs
- 1st bedroom has queen bed & TV with cable
- 2nd bedroom has two small beds that can be pushed together and TV with cable
- All beds are very comfortable
- Two bathrooms both with nice showers
- one bathroom upstairs and one downstairs
- Downstairs
- Living room is good size with seating for four and a big screen TV with cable and fast internet.
- small dining area for four next to living room
- kitchen has everything needed to cook and has coffee maker. All dishes and utensils are there
- Outdoor patio was not usable due to so many mosquitos. (Bring repellent, I got bit about 40 times)
- Parking
- we have an assigned spot very close to our door. Good parking for one rental car.
-Overall
- Very good spot near some great spots in Kona. Very quiet neighborhood and you can hear the waves crashing. You can drive 15 minutes in any direction and find amazing beaches. Towels, umbrellas, chairs and everything you need is provided by the property owner. Market is 3 minute drive from property. Property manager and owner are very nice and easy to work with.
I would recommend staying here, much better experience then staying in hotel. Thanks Doug & Donna for a great vacation, you have a lovely home!

If you're headed to kona, this is a great place to check out. Its fully stocked. From beach chairs, to a dozen beach towels, boogie boards, noodles, multiple snorkel equipment, coolers, etc. They also had tons of other essentials besides shampoo and body wash, toothpaste, feminine products, etc etc...too many to list.
I like the fact that they make your entry code to get into the condo really easy to remember. This is always a pain having to look at your cell phone for the code you can never remember.
Communication was really good with the property management. They let us know of a simple plumbing issue hours before we arrived...and it was fixed before we even entered the unit.
Fully stocked kitchen, both bathrooms are nice, comfy beds, AC worked great, etc etc. Whenever we get back to kona...we will be looking to rent this place again.

We rented unit 32 for 2 daughters a partner and our 2 year old grandson. They loved every minute of their stay. Doug and Donna were very accommodating in having all beach equipment and baby needs available. The unit was very clean and well equipped. Would definitely stay there again.

Doug and Donna were great hosts.
The grounds around the complex were well maintained. The pool and barbecue areas are convenient and we used them to our advantage.
The unit is updated with the Hawaiian vibe, kitchen counter tops and bathrooms.
If your headed to the beach,... they provide everything you would need. That in itself gives the hosts a high rating from me.
