Overall really.enjoyed are stay.
Second time we have stayed in this condo complex. Although the golf course (between complex and ocean) is closed this time, you can still hear and see the Pacific. In addition this unit is at the back of the complex and there are units that the lanai looks over, the view is still relaxing and wonderful. Very clean, comfortable king bed, and stocked kitchen made for an enjoyable 8 night stay. Hosts are responsive and agreeable, and cannot say enough good things about Tiana on site - she is charming, conversant, and helpful. Loved it from retired couple traveling the world!

Great stay. My second time at the condo. Owners are great.
We are a hiking crew so being near the Volcano National Park allowed to get a couple of days of hiking there. Also Black Beach was 2 minutes away and it wasn't too far from Green Beach, also nice. We did have to drive a bit to get to Captain Cook to hike down to the memorial to snorkel but it was worth it. Tons of fish, lots of variety. The only negative is a lack of good grocery stores so load-up when you're in Kona or Hilo. Finally I thought to condo was a lot nicer in person than the pictures showed.
We love this area of the Big Island. Perfect condo with everything we needed for a nice long relaxing weekend.
It is a nice, comfortable place to stay. The balcony has an ocean view over the other buildings in the complex and is great to sit on in the morning.
The couch folds out into a bed so even though the property has a single bedroom, the living-room/dining/kitchen area can be configured as a second bedroom overnight. The bathroom is well located so it can be used from both areas.
The biggest thing that will determine if any unit in the complex is for you is location. Its a short walk from black sand beach, and a half hour drive from the volcano park. It does have a pool, hot tub and BBQs. And it is nice and quiet. A great place if you like nature and want a base for exploring the island. If you want restaurants, city activities and entertainment, and lots of nearby things to do, this is not the place for you. I have stayed in the complex before and was delighted to find this condo for this stay, so it really all depends on what you enjoy.
Did have a couple of minor issues and the owner was easy to contact and responsive. The clothes dryer wasn't working but that was solved using a paid dryer in the complex laundromat. The washer is quite small so using the laundromat may be a good idea for larger amounts of laundry anyway. Also worth noting that fridge has a rather loud hum when the compressor is running that may be an issue for someone sleeping the in living-room (cant hear it from the bedroom).
To sum it up - would we stay there next time? A definite yes!

This unit is definitely in a remote spot. Shower never got hot, emailed owner to be given a reason then see a review from last month of same problem which to me means, owner ignored it! Please don't see washer/dryer as a bonus, dryer doesn't dry so you are left with hanging clothes to dry all around (dryer vent is clogged). Unit needs some TLC.
Loved being able to see and hear the ocean as well being treated to a constant chorus of bird song.

The property was clean and nice. It included everything necessary for playing at the beach - chairs, mats, snorkles, cooler, and umbrella.

Very quiet and relaxing except that our unit was near the dumpsters and they were emptied every other night (which is a good thing)@1:30-2:00am.!! This was left out of the description. Nice view of the Pacific Ocean sunrise.

If you want a relaxing vacation, this is the place to be! Beautiful location next to the black sand beach. It feels like you are out in the middle of nowhere. We stopped at Walmart on our way in. Had picnics several times on the beach. It was so nice that the condo had beach chairs, umbrella and anything else you could think of. The pool was beautiful although we preferred to walk to the beach. Thank you so much!

The location seemed pretty good, but weather on this side is quite windy and rains a lot more. The place itself was nice and roomy, but the furniture in living room is more like outdoor patio furniture. Not comfortable at all. The shower gets just slightly warm, so you could not take a bath for sure. Lastly, the snorkel equipment provided are like toy quality (super hard plastic and not very practical for an adult for sure). Other places we stayed at had high quality snorkeling equipment.
If you are going to stay at this resort, I would recommend finding another unit in this resort, as location is nice for day trips to north east side of island. And definitely make it into town for the donuts at the local bakery!
