Kiahuna Plantation is the only beachfront condo complex in Poipu Beach. Situated on 35 acres with low density, plantation style buildings, luscious grass areas and beautiful tropical vegetation, Kiahuna is an ideal vacation spot. The white sand beach is a perfect for swimming, boogie boarding, snorkeling and surfing. Stores and fine restaurants are nearby.
Our 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 2 story end unit condo (building 14, unit #76) is located in a prime spot in the center of the property, away from parking lots and roads. It is quiet, tranquil and has a beautiful view of the ocean from both the upstairs great room (living room, dining room, kitchen, and lanai) and downstairs master bedroom and lanai. It is comfortably suitable for 4-6 people.
Recently remodeled with an open floor plan upstairs, giving ocean views from the kitchen to the lanai, the unit has granite counters and custom cabinets in the kitchen, and new appliances. You can stand at the kitchen counter and watch the surf and the beautiful sky at sunset. There is all new furniture in the great room upstairs, which includes a queen size sofa bed in the living room. The upstairs lanai has a table and chairs and chaise lounge for outside dining and enjoying the view. High ceilings, ceiling fans, louvered windows and sliding door on 3 sides gives the condo a spacious feeling, and the ability to capture the tradewinds.
There is free WIFI internet that allows internet access from both upstairs and downstairs, or even on the lanais. There is a television and entertainment center in the living room with a sound bar, and DVD/CD player.
Both the bedrooms are downstairs. The master bedroom has a king size bed, flat screen TV, and loads of drawers and closet space. There is a sliding door to the lanai with tables, chairs and chaise lounges to sit or lounge outside, feed the birds, enjoy the beautiful gardens and watch the surf. The newly remodeled master bathroom has custom cabinets, granite counter tops, and a large tiled shower. The second bedroom has 2 twin beds which can be converted to a king size The second bathroom also has custom cabinets, granite counters and a tiled shower.
We have provided boogie boards, beach umbrellas and a cooler for use of our guests. We also have baby gates, booster highchair and toys and games for children of all ages.
The beach is a short 1-2 minute walk through the garden and lawn area. Chairs and towels ...

The view from the lanai is wonderful, the condo is spacious, the beds comfortable. The beach and pool are fabulous. The kids loved the waterslide. I rated it a 4 only because the screens on the sliding doors were really a pain. They were hard to close and the one downstairs kept falling out of the track when we tried to close it. Really frustrating. Needs some attention.

My family, which includes three young kids, really enjoyed our stay here. This unit is more private than others, as it's tucked away more in the interior of the Kiahuna Plantation property, and it's an end unit with vegetation on the side giving some privacy to the lanais. The views of the beautiful expanse of green lawn and palm trees with a peek of the ocean the end were beautiful. We all enjoyed easy access the lawn area and a quick walk to the beach. The unit was very cozy and homey. I loved the carpet on the stairs, as it made them feel safer for the kids.
Kiahuna Beach, right out front, was wonderful, but at this time of year, had a bit too many waves for the smaller kids, so we took a short walk to the left to the calmer Poipu Beach. It was also fun to be able to walk to restaurants nearby for dinner one night. The proximity of the unit to the attractions on the south side were great, and we weren't too far from Lydgate Beach, a wonderful, calm and pool-like beach.

Once you have stayed at Kiahuna plantation, you really just are not satisfied staying at any other property on Kauai. This unit was great, high ceilings, lots of space for our family. There were a couple of issues during our stay, but those were resolved and all in all we liked this unit. Appreciated using the air conditioning overnight. Looking forward to our next visit!

We had a wonderful vacation in Poipu. The room was perfect, the updated kitchen was great and the extras in the closets were lifesavers! Can’t wait to visit again.

My mom and I stayed at Barbara's property at the beginning of November. As noted in other reviews, the townhouse-style condo is right on the great lawn, with a decent ocean view. The central location does make for a bit of a walk from the parking lot, and it's easy to get lost on the property. The Plantation has beautiful grounds (don't miss the orchid garden), second only to the Grand Hyatt, in my opinion.
The condo is an end unit with the living area upstairs, so if you've got bad knees (mom) or feet (me), be prepared for that. The furnishings are pretty typical for a Hawaiian condo: lots of rattan. Most things were in good shape except for the carpet, which is overdue for replacement, and the screen doors. One of the ceiling fans swayed back and forth when operating, which is disconcerting when you're sleeping underneath it (this was reported to the owner and front desk).
The owner added air conditioning to the upper floor, which helps, but it mainly cools the kitchen and not the living area unless you crank the fan all the way up. Since it gets sweltering in the bedrooms, I wish the A/C was also downstairs, but as someone with a mini-split system, I know that more zones don't come cheap.
We didn't have much luck at the beaches on our trip due to the high surf. We checked out the pool/fitness club across the street that guests have access to (it's a 5-10 min walk or a 1-2 min drive). The pool is nice, and while food is available, it's expensive.
Kiahuna Plantation is close to some good restaurants: Tidepools at the Grand Hyatt, Keoki's Paradise and Anuenue Cafe (both across the street). Koloa Pizza Kitchen was good, as well. Starbucks fans should note that the hours at the cafe across the street are VERY limited.
Overall, the condo is a nice place to stay and a relative bargain compared to the nearby resorts. It could use some TLC in a few areas but overall, we had an enjoyable week.

The location of unit 76 was fabulous! Great views ! Enjoyed the beach chairs, umbrellas, and boogie boards. Washer/dryer was a plus!

This is a lovely property on the "great lawn". It's ideal for access for children and adults. The view of the ocean is lovely and the ocean breeze in the afternoon is so nice. Thank you for the use of your property.

This spacious 2 BR townhouse is very well appointed and has lovely ocean views. The owner recently installed AC upstairs, so the living room and kitchen are extremely comfortable. The arrangement has the bedrooms downstairs and they don't have AC, so they are quite warm until late in the evening. They were fine for sleeping, but we stayed upstairs during the day.
The grounds at Kiahuna Plantation are beautiful and have lovely vegetation and birds. I walked along the waterfront from here for quite some ways and saw sea turtles coming to roost in a nearby inlet. The unit is also convenient to Waimea Canyon, the National Tropical Botanical Gardens and many nice shops and restaurants.

This was a good over all experience. The property was clean and had everything we needed. Easy access to parking into the beach. I would recommend this property.
