This Hana cottage is tucked away on a lush hillside near Haleakala National Park.
Stay in this, fully equipped, one-bedroom Maui home. It's one of the most beautiful locations Hana has to offer. Perfect for your Maui vacation, honeymoon, special birthday, or just a relaxing retreat.
Guests who come to Anya's house aren't just taking a journey in miles, they're stepping back in time. The retreat was shaped by the traditions of Old Hawaii, when days were lazy and carefree, and nights were for "talking story" and making romance. Here you are in the heart of nature: turn right out the front door to hike through one of America's last rain forests; turn left and take a cool dip in a natural pool fed by waterfalls. In the early morning and at twilight, walk along a deserted country lane bordering the ocean, where the only sounds are singing birds and lapping waves. In winter, watch the whales dance!
This is a solar powered house. If you have any questions, please contact me before booking....

Off grid and lacking nothing. A great location to venture out from as well. Plan for your dinner because Hana is the closest place for supplies and it’s not a quick drive. So many hidden surprises that add to this amazing home. The bed was ultra comfortable to top it all off. Off road vehicle definitely needed to get to the house. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else if in the area.

We had a wonderful relaxing stay at Anya’s place. Please read her description and reviews - they are well described. If you want solitude (with some animal noises and are fine with outdoor cats), then rent a jeep snd this place is for you!

Anya’s place was hands down our favorite VRBO we’ve ever stayed at. It is an actual piece of paradise that we felt so fortunate to have all to ourselves. From waking up to the ocean, listening to the rain at night and all the little details that made this place a remote getaway, we could never thank Anya enough. We wish we never had to leave.

We wanted to spend more time down in the Hana/Oheo Gulch area so we could really explore the area. This place looked really cool so we went for it and we were not disappointed. The drive from the main road to the cottage is no joke. A vehicle with low clearance and/or poor tires could struggle getting there, especially in the rain. The adventure of just getting to the cottage sets the tone for your stay. Off grid, rustic charm, stunning vegetation on the property, and a ridiculous view. This place has it all. If you love feeling like your are a part of your surroundings, this place is for you. Given only 2 people can stay here the place is very large. The bedroom is good and the bed was comfortable. The kitchen had everything you could need, even some fresh fruit waiting for us. But the real kicker for this place is the view from the lanai and the outdoor shower/tub. Exploring by day, stargazing at night, this place is memorable. The outdoor shower is something you won’t forget. The place is off grid but we had no issues with running out of power. The place is about 30 minutes past Hana and about 5 minutes from Oheo Gulch. Consider taking the backside of Haleakala on your way out to this place especially if you’re staying for more than a night, which you really should because this part of the island has a ton to do and discover. We would definitely stay again.

Anya’s place was just as advertised. The view was amazing. It felt spacious and comfortable. She even left us some fresh oranges and there was a juicer there so we squeezed our own orange juice for breakfast! Definitely make sure you have 4 wheel drive, the drive up is steep! Which made the view even better. From Anya’s place we could only see ocean and lush hills. It felt very private and remote. VERY close to the back section of Haleakala national park. Less than 5 min drive. Nice hiking in the park. Hana is about a 40 min drive which was fine for us to go to dinner. I definitely recommend, especially for those that enjoy peaceful solitude and hiking in parks.
