Hale Anuenue (House of Rainbows) is a large, fully equipped studio/condominium unit fronting on a tree lined walking path that leads down to Anini Beach. It offers a full, well equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, Queen size bed, Wi-Fi, Smart TV, a full bath, beach chairs, snorkel gear, beach umbrella and cooler. The large lanai is perfect for stargazing or just enjoying some quiet outdoor reading. There's reserved parking, a great pool area with a communal barbecue and shopping and restaurants are just minutes away. Princeville at Hanalei's location is conveniently close to Kilauea, Hanalei and the numerous beaches and amenities of Kauai's beautiful North Shore. Given it's size, inclusions and location, Hale Anuenue is by far Princeville's best bargain. Stays are limited to a maximum of 2 adults (over 25 years old) and 10 nights. E komo mai!

Just a terrific stay in Princeville and our stay in Rick's place was a big reason why. Clean, comfortable, cool, ideally located near major beaches--the listing for the property and the photos are completely accurate. Bed, shower, kitchen all first rate. Easy communication with host. Could have been better overall.

We loved our stay at this comfortable apartment. It was well equipped, somehow finding room for everything you might need, without feeling cluttered. The shower was wonderful- great water pressure! All instructions were clear. Loved being in this area of the island. We were grateful to stay in this lovely home.

The property is just perfect for an extended stay. The unit has a bedroom area, living room area, Lanai, and full kitchen with washer and dryer and full size refrigerator. It makes it possible to shop for groceries and do at home meals; a huge boon in Princeville.
The decorations are very Hawaii and make the whole place feel like a home away from home.
Having stayed at several VRBOs, this is one of the best for a couple to have a peaceful romantic respite.
Highest recommendation.

Spacious lower studio, surrounded by colorful trees and flowers. We didn’t need to contact Rick during our visit because communication beforehand was so thorough, there was a binder of helpful info, and it was the most fully equipped rental ever! We especially enjoyed the full kitchen, washer and dryer, ample paper products and toiletries, and a cooler with ice packs. As for location, we prefer less busy, out of the way locations like Princeville. We had walking access to Anini beach or a short drive to Lumahai, Tunnels and other close by. It is worth it to explore other parts of the island; the Napali Coast (we did a sunset dinner cruise) and Kokee and Waimea Canyon State Parks, but always appreciated returning here at the end of the day; the North Shore was the best! Highly recommend this relaxing studio when visiting Kauai!

This is the best place for us as - hmm well we are aging and want simple, reliable, and a little off the beaten path. If you want all the pools and people book just down the road at the Westin Resort but that is not for us unless we want to walk their grounds and have a meal at the bar or restaurant. The beach is just down the path and shopping the other direction- just a short walk away.Rick really takes care of your needs - thanks again! We will be back

Extremely well equipped property in a great location. It felt spacious and comfortable despite only being a studio apartment and having a full kitchen with a washer and dryer was wonderful.

My wife have been to Kauai several times, this was one of our best visits. Most of our visits we've stayed in the Kapaa area which was convenient but very busy and loud. We really enjoyed the Princeville area, less busy and quiet. The condo was very clean and well organized. Next time we visit we'll stay here again!!

I spent more time actually in the place than I expected, I would say the trip was definitely a mixed bag due to unrelated issues (weather, closing of places that had been open 15 years ago etc). So as a result I was actually in the room reading and watching old Star Trek reruns on cable a lot more than I had planned.
So, in short the trip was mostly not what I wanted, about 2 good weather days out of 7, but the place made an excellent place to just hole up and wait it out.
One recommendation would be to close the windows at night if the temperature isn't too hot, really helps with the local roosters occasionally deciding that the sun rises at 2am, because they don't have watches. With the windows open, they might as well be perched on the headboard. I stayed in January, and like I said weather was not great, so closing the windows wasn't a problem. In warmer months there will be plenty of airflow, lots of window slats and louvers to open for the breeze.
The place is well equipped, so much so that I didn't even discover half of it until well into the trip. Beach chairs and umbrella, beach towels, and good infrastructure like laundry, dishwasher, etc etc. Toaster oven was good for bagels in the morning.
I didn't cook much, but it's well equipped for it.
Also liked the water filter, regularly filled up my water bottle from it just to be on the safe side.
There are a lot of Labels everywhere with instructions on how not to go wrong, which was appreciated.

Rick was an awesome host. We completely felt at home. The amount of thought and preparation that he put in to make sure that his guests had everything that they needed was exemplary. Thanks for your hospitality, Rick.

Staying at Rick’s place is always pleasant and appreciated. The host is very communicative and kind, giving true aloha. His place is extremely well stocked with every kitchen utensil you could ever ask for and even board games books and a very nice TV! This is our second stay here and it is always a gem to find it available. The Paniolo complex has swimming pools and is safe and very beautiful to stay at. Many mahalos!!
