Shipwreck Beach Cottage is a PREMIER condo at Poipu Sands is a STAND ALONE unit, with NO NEIGHBORS above or on any side. It just underwent a COMPLETE MAKEOVER with new furniture, floor coverings, paint, and accessories. This one will WOW anyone who chooses to spend their vacation here. This is the largest lanai in Poipu Sands, which means more space for a full seating of new lanai furniture!
It enjoys much of the PRIVACY that a HOUSE offers, but it shares in the all the amenities offered by Poipu Sands and the Poipu Kai Resort, such as pools and tennis courts. It is a very short walk (less than 5 minutes) down the path to Shipwreck Beach and the Grand Hyatt. The Heated Pool is directly in front of the unit, but far enough as to not be any distraction. The BBQ is also in this area, making pool side dinners possible. This is the best pool on the island, and is seldom crowded, as there are several pools available within the Poipu Kai Resort complex.

You can literally walk anywhere. A 5 minute walk along a shore trail takes you to a vantage point over the ocean, where you can watch numerous turtles play in the surf, and you can also be in the prime spot for sunset. Walk to the Hyatt to enjoy one of their fantastic restaurants, or a luau.

Several walking paths within the resort will take you to other pools and tennis courts, and down to Brennecke Beach. What a spot! Go a little further to one of the island's best beach destinations, Poipu Beach Park. Poipu Beach was named America's Best Beach by The Travel Channel, ranking top among the 10 'best' beaches selected nationwide. This beach is a series of golden sand crescents, strung together where beach-goers will find snorkeling, swimming, a natural ocean wading pool, boogie-boarding and surfing.

Back at the condo, you will find windows on all 4 sides, allowing the cooling trade winds to pass through. This is a PREMIER property, with NEW designer furniture and accessories. The carpets are new, the linens are NEW, and the kitchen is more than you could hope for. Here you will find plenty of cabinet space, premium appliances, granite counters, and all the kitchen tools and small appliances to enjoy meals right at home. The large covered lanai provides a great place to relax and enjoy friends, or a great book.

There are two bedrooms, one with a king bed and bath, and the other has twins that can be made into a king bed as well, upon request. It has an adjacent bath, with tub ...

Great location in a beautiful and well maintained property. Home was the most well furnished place we have stayed particularly all the incidental supplies and beach equipment. Morning coffee on the lanai was a great way to start the day. Highly recommend this place!

Weather was not great so we were never able to see the canyon or the Nepali coast. All cancelled. Loved the Big Save and nearby Walmart. Loved Poipu Beach. Best snorkeling and whale shows with turtles and seals swimming in to rest on the beach. You need water shoes. Many rocks, coral and sea urchins. I learned if I walked out and rolled rocks over the fish would swarm. No find needed. Fell once and cut both hands. Gotta be careful. Enjoyed touring north coast. Had a van. It went all around the island as all roads we travelled were paved. Avoid the Whaler General Store. Prices are 2x there. Extra 5 min drive to Big Save in Koloa is worth it. Excellent pineapples for $1.39. Loved Smith Grotto tour and luau. Best we have seen by far out of 4. One warning about this property. It is NOT airconditiioned and the louvre windows open and close hard or not at all. We had several very uncomfortable nights with no breeze except the fans. Next time I will seek AC. It was always a little moist in the condo. We had a lot of rain during our stay. Glad we went. The hikes around the Hyatt and up onto the bluff were great. Shipwreck beach was nice to walk along side but a hard walk in the soft sand and windy. Poipu beach was delightful and we enjoyed the Puka dogs.

Ideal location to swim in the pool or walk to the ocean. Many restaurants and shops are within a couple of miles. Beds were extremely comfortable. Unit was spotless. We would definitely stay here again.

Very nice and cool condo, in a stand alone building. Was very nice, clean and well stocked. Close to 3 beaches too.

This condo is clean and beautifully appointed. The beds were super comfortable. Everything you need is here. While it lacks a view of the ocean, you feel like you are in a tree house. Very quiet and a beautiful clean pool just steps away. The only draw back is, if you are susceptible to heat, it is very hard to cool down the house. There is usually plenty of breeze coming in from the east side of the house but the rest of the house is very hard to get cool. Especially, the master bedroom. There were 5 fans provided and we used all of them to cool down the rooms at night. Lots of beach equipment, fully appointed kitchen. Very centrally located to things in this area. It is on the second level so be ready to schlep your luggage up 2 flights of stairs. I would stay here again for sure.

We had such a great time staying at the property. First, Scott was so extremely helpful. I must have emailed him a dozen times asking for suggestions and recommendations for food, dining, best place for fishing, for surf lessons, and everything else. He responded super quickly to each question (less than a day, if not a couple hours). Second, the condo is spacious and very clean. The kitchen is stocked with spices (salt, pepper), and the condo had a sufficient amount of general purpose household items (toilet paper, hand soap, dish soap, laundry soap) to get us started. Super helpful because we arrived very late the first night. Also had boogie boards, beach chairs, etc. This particular condo is not on the beach (none of them really are for this complex). It was fine for us. 5 minute walk to the beach and 10 second walk to the pool! Third, the property is in such a convenient location. 5 minute walk to the Grand Hyatt, 5 minute drive to Poipu beach, and there's some type of Hilton (I think) vacation club right in front of the complex which has a pleasant poolside bar. We used the condo complex's quiet pool quite a bit. The kids used the tennis courts as well. There's a really neat little E-bike rental place next to the tennis courts too. Overall, great host, great condo, great experience.
