Great place to stay in! Hosts very attentive to your needs, fresh fruits you can pick yourself every day.
BBQ works well, and has a side too for making breakfast. Only downside is the neighbouring dogs that bark. Other then that, great place!

This was the best place we have ever stayed in Hawaii! The location was great. So much peacefulness and solitude. It was close to so many great things to see. Our host was incredible. We will be back.

We had a lovely stay at this beautiful cottage. The amenities were just what we needed in Hilo and the location was a great base to Mauna Kea and Volcano national park. The one thing to be aware is that this property relies on off grid energy sources. We did not have any issues but only found out on arrival that a hair dryer would drain the batteries. Cooking/boiling water is through the propane bbq. The internet worked perfectly fine! Even with the rain there were enough covered spaces to shelter and just relax.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cute cottage. The host was kind and responsive and thought of everything to make her guests comfortable. Would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

This rental was to celebrate 40 year anniversary. We’ve been to Bid Island 6x. We will come back to this little gem located in southern outskirts of Hilo. You need to rent a car any time you go to Big Island. This property is semi-private. There are residents around you, but plenty of trees and foliage so you don’t see them.. We loved the privacy/security of bedroom/powder room in the actual cottage. The queen bed was really comfortable. Loved the completely roofed outdoor spaces, shower, kitchen, and sitting areas You will hear chickens and see tropical birds. Cute green lizards hang around outside areas. Bring slippers because no shoes or sandals allowed in cottage. There are a few dvd’s, but bring some of your favorites; wi-fi is great. The Hawaiian hospitality from hosts. 4 stars.

We had some of the sweetest and juiciest fruit from the orchard everyday! I was surprised that I could not use a hair dryer but otherwise Rich and Merlyn were easy to reach, the rental was peaceful, close enough to go to attractions/Hilo but far enough to seem like you were in your own piece of paradise. Out door shower and kitchen was different for us as we are from Canada but water pressure was great and the weather was perfect. I would recommend misquote repellent as it is lush and be surprised by the geckos that jump out of no where but are so cute.

We didn't want a resort experience for our Big Island trip and we got what we were looking for. Merlyn was very helpful and the cottage had everything we needed, including privacy. The outdoor kitchen was definitely a bonus. We picked oranges on the property every morning for fresh squeezed orange juice. Close proximity to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and the quaint town of Pahoa where we drove The Red Road.

A beautiful little cotrage with amazing fruit trees. We loved the connection with the outdoors though the outdoor kitchen and shower. The hosts left a bowl of the best fruit ever that was from thier trees. The hosts were responsive to any questions we had. This is a place that we will reflect on with fond memories for years to come.
