The Bamboo Hotel is one of only three Waikiki hotels designated as a New York Times Pick. Called A hidden gem on a New York Times Review and Honolulu s hippest, affordable place to stay in Waikiki by Travel & Leisure Magazine. I loved it and you can t beat the value for the $$ user review, TripAdvisor. Also, just ranked #8 ! out of 98 Hotels in Waikiki on trip adviser.

There are wonderful restaurants nearby, including the well known Cheesecake Factory; Hy s Steak House for a very special dinner; Tiki s Grill & Bar for great food, inexpensive drinks and Duke s Canoe House, oceanfront, food, drinks, with both places great spots for sunsets, people watching and nightly entertainment; and Cheeseburger in Paradise, always crowded, located at each end of Waikiki.

You can walk to the beach and all Waikiki attractions. Parking is available for a daily rate in the garage next door.

Hello, Sorry to have to be commenting under these circumstances, but I feel like the place we stayed, advertisement and amenities weren’t just misleading, but I feel down right lied to. Normally I pay my bill and move on, but this representation was very different than what we had paid for before we got there. I am requesting 50% off my bill refunded back because of the numerous mis representation’s of this vrbo. 1. Advertised was 1 flight of stairs once off the elevator when it was 2 flights. Clearly the stairwell was not kept up as the rest of the hotel. Stairs were dirty with broken coconuts on the floor. 2. Smart tv volume did not work unless unplugged and rebooted. We had to unplug several times throughout our stay in order for volume to work. 3. Convection stove top did not work 4. Multiple stains on sofa 5. Only 1 shower head worked and water pressure very weak 6. Boogie board requested was child size and broken in half 7. Beach insulated bag was dirty and ripped. 8. Coffee pot did not work correctly without having to apply pressure during the brew cycle 9. there was no mention that the boiler room is right next-door to our room and it was loud all day and all night. 10. But the most alarming was the mold inside air conditioning units. These models require periodic cleaning which clearly was not done due to the amount of mold built up. We have pictures & videos as well. We are requesting a refund as this was our 25th wedding anniversary and

The steps are really steep and it’s really loud, air conditioners and water heater are right next to the windows and they pump and nock on and off all day all night, the bed is broken on one corner leg.

THE BAD: The elevator does not go to the unit, instead you have to take the stairwell from the 12th floor to the roof to get to the unit. The front door will not open or close without a heavy push. The balcony area has very nice views but it was dirty, with stagnant pools of water; additionally all of the pipes are exposed so it didn’t feel like an inviting place to sit and eat or admire the view. Other than the balcony, there is no good place for 2 people to eat. There was a couch in the kitchen but it is not ideal. THE GOOD: The kitchen is modern and for light cooking it is great. The location is good, very convenient to the ocean and to public transit. The front desk staff were friendly.

This was great due to the location of the property. It was an easy walk to the beach, food, post office and bars. Here are a few of the drawbacks, You take the elevator all the way to the top floor then you have to go up two flights of stairs. You are right next door to the mechanical room. The nearest washer and dryer are two flights of stairs down And cost $3.00 each per load. You don’t really have a balcony it is used to house the A/C and other equipment for the building. The actual penthouse is below you. A guy wouldn’t have an issue with this but the toilet seat is too small for the actual toilet so if your a girl it’s uncomfortable to use. The lower towel bar end pieces are on upside down so the end pieces could easily come off when removing a towel. Just so you know the pictures do not look exactly like where we stayed. The couch and bed where there but it really is one room. The pictures are deceiving because the bed is a Murphy bed. The actual couch was in the kitchen not near the TV. The couch will not fit at the end of the bed if you need to get around it. The sliding door/window is really nice and opens easily and does have a decent view. you can’t see a sunset due to surrounding buildings but you do see some of the ocean which was really nice. I wouldn’t walk around the area by myself there was a few uncomfortable moments involving the building next door but the security at this building was nice. After 10pm you can’t get in without your room key. Which made me feel safe. The room does have a nice fridge an new flooring. The kitchen is two glass burner stove, microwave, coffee pot, sink and toaster. The sink has a sensor that doesn’t work when you try to use it but it will randomly go off when no one is near it.
