Wonderful property. Perfect Beach Location
Spent one week at this lovely beachfront property. All 9 of us, that included 6 adults and 3 small kids had an excellent time. The proximity to the beach was unbeatable. Brennecke's was 100 feet across the street and Poipu was a quick 5 minute walk. It was hot the week we were there and needed to run the AC as much as possible. Each of the 4 bedrooms had its own AC as did the living room. The one in the living room was by far the best with each of those in the bedrooms being adequate at best. Probably the best room in the house was what we called the Ocean Room. This was the screened in room at the front of the house that overlooked Brennecke Beach. Although very pricey for our one week family stay, I can say with certainty that everyone had a wonderful time in Kauai and that Ian's house was a huge part of enjoyment.
Location is everything. You are a minute walk to the beach, sea turtles, coral reefs, and excellent restaurants. The property has a water station to get sand off which is super nice, and chairs and umbrellas provided. The pool and hot tub are perfect. The rooms are all nice, and the views are to die for. Would definitely stay here again.

What a gem! Ian’s place is in the perfect location just across from Brennecke’s Beach. Unobstructed ocean views from the main living area. Less than 30 seconds to plant your feet in the sand and jump in the ocean. Kids loved the body surfing and boogey boarding. Custom mosaic tile pool was the perfect way to cool off after a day at the beach. Well stocked chefs kitchen allowed us to make several memorable meals together and when we didn’t want to cook it was just a short walk or drive to some fantastic restaurants. We also went on several scenic walks from the property which were fantastic.
Our two weeks at Hale Halia were perfect. The house is lovely - well cared for and ideally located. Proximity to two beautiful beaches, a great pool, stunning ocean views - Hale Halia has it all. This was our second stay at this beautiful home and we hope there will be more!
Our family could sit for hours on end in the screened porch overlooking Brennecke’s Beach. The views are spectacular. Not to mention the bodysurfing and snorkeling within steps from the house. We traveled with our 3 year old who loved the layout of the house, hiding throughout fighting monsters while also spending ample time in the pool, hot tub, and ocean. Fantastic communication, turnkey rental. Will return.
Amazing home! Perfect for ages 2 to 78. Comfortable beds and linens. Kitchen has all the essentials. Best part of the home was the lanai with views of the beach and beautiful sunrise and sunset and rainbows. Location was perfect, close to Kiki beach and playground for little ones. The surf in front of the house was great for older kids. Host was very easy to work with. Highly recommend this home.
What a special property for our family vacation of 7 which included my husband and myself, my grown daughters and son in law and our 2 grandkids ages 2 & 4. It was the perfect location to take the kids right across to the beach and park. We also loved the swim time in the pool. The property had everything we needed. The views were spectacular from the front screened room.
Wonderful property right next to Brenecke's beach and short walk to Poipu. Couldn't have asked for a better site for a relaxing vacation with family.
The location of this house is absolutely perfect. Especially to take a toddler to the beach. We would love to come back sometime.
The large living/dining/kitchen/front porch, plus the pool and hot tub, worked fantastically for our family. The location with Poipu park just across the street, and the walkability of the neighborhood were wonderful.(Their were some interior maintenance issues that need addressing that didn't actually impact our stay, but would be a good idea to repair.)
The house is perfect: well-equipped for home and beach. The view is fabulous; how great to be "at home" and able to see the ocean and the people enjoying it.Ian is the perfect host: always available to answer questions. The pool and hot tub were great. So was the outdoor grill; indoors, the kitchen had all we needed and more. Our grandchildren, ages 8 and 10 made good use of the provided boogie board, becoming expert users. And they loved seeing the turtles, dolphins, and whales that were regular visitors. We, the old ones, enjoyed the supplied beach umbrellas and chairs. No boogie for us. The best way to summarize is to say we'd love to be able to use it again. It was perfect.
This house felt like home. The location is perfect. Each morning we swam in the ocean right a Rosa the street from us. The beds were comfortable, house was clean, tons of windows which gave amazing natural light and wind. We plan to return to this home the next time we visit. 10 out of 10 on every level.
This is our 6th stay. Across from several beaches, the house offers spectacular sunrise and sunset watching. We often see whales breech and dolphins play. The house accommodates me and adult children/spouses. Kitchen is terrific—two refrigerators, two sinks, and well equipped.
Wonderful place for a group to spend time on Kauai. Lots of kitchen amenities and beach towels. Loved all the windows and the layout of the house. Pool and hot tub were very nice too. Best part is easy walk to beach!

The location, view of the Pacific and beach were exceptional. The many things to do on the island tied with the pool, hot tub and all the other amenities made this a fantastic rental experience.The owner/host also checked in to ensure we were having a great experience, something very appreciated. Location, Location, Location. Across from the beach, The house had all needed for our family of 8 adults and 2 children(9 and 12). Down the street was a rental place for the beach plus the house had chairs, umbrellas, ice chest. The view was amazing. Can not say enough about our experience. Ian was very accommodating to our schedule. I would highly recommend
The Hale Hal’ia house was perfect for our 3 generation family gathering! It is right across the street from a beach tailor-made for boogie boarding. Walk up the beach just a bit and there is a protected sea turtle beach, and then comes a wonderful baby beach (our 2-1/2 yr. old grandson loved his intro to the ocean!). Steps beyond that is a beautiful beach for swimming, surfing, etc.The house itself is amazing. There is an open air atrium in front facing the beach, and we could sit there for hours kicking back. The living room and dining area are spacious and welcoming, the decor soothing. The kitchen is well-stocked, and having children’s plates and Tupperware much appreciated ( there is even a Pak&Play for our grandson).The beach chairs and umbrellas were extremely helpful. And the pool and hot tub were very welcome additions.The host was very responsive to our questions.I cannot say enough, if you are considering renting Hale Hal’ia, go for it!
Location is amazing! We watched whales jumping Christmas morning from the living area. Our older kids could cross the street to swim and we could watch from the house. Easy walk to the next beach over, where Sea Turtles would beach for the night. Kitchen has everything you need. Our kids really appreciated not needing to drive anywhere to have fun. My only criticism would be the house gets a little warm for our Northern Blood. Owner requests AC in bedrooms to not be set below 72.
We enjoyed our stay and loved the prime location right on the beach. The house was well stocked and clean. If (when) we visit Kauai again, we’d definitely stay here again!
This was our third or fourth time staying at this property and we absolutely love it. I have been to Kauai a number of times and as far as I am concerned this is the best property on the island. My 102 year old dad is a Pearl Harbor survivor so we make the trip to the ceremony every December and then hop over to Kauai for a little vacation, this house is perfect for him. I 10/10 recommend it!
This was our second time staying in the house and we love everything about it. I cannot say enough about the location snd the accommodations are awesome. If we return to the island this is our first location choice. Thanks for all the memories we made
Awesome place, we had the best time. The house was very open, spacious with great views right across from one of the best beaches in Kauai. Highly, highly recommended this place. Pool, hot tub and all the amenities that you need. The hosts are extremely accommodating…we never used the AC just had the windows opened the whole time.
We all had a blast and especially our grandkids who learned to boogie board at ages 4 and 7!!
Everything listed about this house was spot on! More amenities than expected, 2 refrigerators, 2 kitchen sinks, water toys, beach chairs. Owners Ian and Irene were easy to communicate with and very responsive. When people are walking by the house and looking up at you with a smile, you know life is good!
We absolutely loved this home. The location was the best! Just steps from the beach. The house was so spacious yet cozy for our family of 6. So many amenities too. We didn’t miss a thing. The owner was very easy to communicate with. We would stay here again without a doubt.
