The condo is well stocked, nicely decorated and has an amazing view. It is located in a great location and is very quiet.
From seeing sea turtles sand dolphins swimming by, right from our deck, to the explosion of waves crashing on the rocks and up the sea wall, we have been in awe.The kitchen was amazingly organized and complete with everything we needed- and more.The bedrooms, living snd dining area, all well done. Plenty of towels- and lots of extas.And the pool was sparkling clean and a comfortable temperature. We hope to come back here again.
Sweet little spot. You can walk to the beach and enjoy sunsets. We had a great time for my moms birthday.
Had everything we needed. Would come back.

Lovely location but the place while essentially clean had some sticky, dusty areas and had a mildew/mold smell that was particularly prominent in the second bedroom (non-view). The latter also offered no area to change privately after a shower except the bedroom but because bathroom was not en-suite, you had to go naked from the shower to the bedroom with a big mirror reflecting your nudity from the opposing wall in the LR/DR.

I brought my mom to Hawaii for her first time and this condo was perfect! It is spacious, extremely clean and the location is perfect. We loved seeing the spray of the ocean from the living room and falling asleep to the crash of the waves was magical! The condo is older but very clean and comfortable We had a few issues while there that were handled quickly (was not clear how to lock the front door after opening it with a code, the electrical in the kitchen went out). A few notes that would have been good to know in advance: 1) the condo is on the bottom floor but you have to take the elevator down to it (or walk a stone path) from the parking lot. 2) the kitchen is FULLY stocked with anything you can think of to cook, however it would have been great to have basic salt and pepper 3 ) the condo has round/flat bottom coffee filters provided but the coffee maker takes cones. We made it work pretty much. 4) the condo has great access to the pool through the grass (otherwise you have to go down very steep steps from the 2nd floor) 5) the garbage situation is strange. You have to take the garbage up in the elevator to the lower parking lot and throw in the dumpster. This is different than the instructions (but what the property people told us) 6) the parking situation is a little tight. We always had parking but the lot has three levels and is narrow. 7) the walls are thin. The people above us were out on their lanai at 6am everyday and I would hear everything they said from the bedroom.

Nice place to stay, however, very musty smelling and had to buy some room spray to help with that.
Well kept condo with the best possible sunset view SW. We lived the grass area to spread out. Although not needed, AC was nice at night to cool off the master bedroom a bit. Appreciated that there was beach chairs and a boogie board, may want to tell guests before they fly in (they may already do).

The unit was clean and had a lot of nice touches.Air conditioning being one of them. The location is very special. I loved listening to the waves crash all day long. We really enjoyed spending our time in the pool and walking down to the beach. Beds were very comfy too.
We have stayed at Poipu Shores often and always enjoy our visit. The property manager was especially responsive to a call for a simple repair.

Right in front of the shore where we can hear the wave. The swimming pool is over looking rocky shore where many turtles come, and we check them out every day.
It was our third year staying at Poipu Shores (1bdrm unit in the first year) and second year in this property (2bdrm).
The management company is very helpful - I forgot my personal thing and they sent it to me right away. Thank you so much!
We just love this place!

Our first visit to Kauai and experience with Kauai Vacation Rentals was positive. We arrived about 1 a.m. in the midst of blowing winds and rain but, after a few days, the weather improved. We enjoyed our daily walks to Poipu Beach to see the resting turtles and monk seals. Snorkeling was also good at this location. Unit 106A was as advertised -- an updated well stocked kitchen, beach necessities, and ocean front. The bedroom and dining area ceiling fans kept the air moving and the slatted front door and sliding patio door added cross ventilation. The air conditioning was adequate; neither bedroom was uncomfortable. We had occasion to contact Kauai Vacation Rentals and they responded promptly to our enquiries.

The property and location were great, especially the pool. Having beach chairs and towels was a plus. Good kitchen and supplies there. The grounds maintenance was not great. Dead grass, etc. We felt the property was in need of updating. Specifically,
- The guest bedroom was really hot. Only strategic positioning of noisy fans made it bearable. With only a few outlets available, we needed extension cords for the fans. Needs A/C.
- The parking lot is a joke. The spaces are too narrow for full size cars, so parking and getting in and out were a major chore. When people parked a little crooked, the parking police left notes on our windshields.
- Pave (tile) the path down to the first floor of bldg A. The gravel path seems like an afterthought, not friendly to suitcases.
- Two cockroaches were not welcome. At all.
- The soap dispenser in the shower of the guest bedroom was empty. We had our own soap so didn't complain.
Most of that was not a huge problem, the hot bedroom and parking lot being the most annoying. The location and pool were great, and we still had a wonderful week.

The location was perfect, The kitchen very well stocked. The master bedroom and the living area were great. The air conditioning worked great in the living area and master bedroom. The secondary bedroom had no air conditioning and our friends had a horrible time. The room was so hot and muggy even with the windows open and fans blowing. It was like being in a Sauna. I would have given the unit a 5 all the way except for this major issue.

This is the 4th trip to this condo complex. It is perfect. we love the lanai, the pool, the turtles and the quick walk to Poipu Beach. This unit was cozy and perfect for our family. Look forward to next year's visit!
