Maui Sunset A-509 – 1BR 2BA Oceanfront Condo with a Whale-Watching Lanai
There’s a reason many of our lovely guests return year after year to our oceanfront Maui condo.
Actually, there are lots of reasons.
The condo community’s sparkling pool which is heated during the winter months and bubbly hot tub. The impossibly lush grounds. The ocean view from the lanai, where we often see pods of whales breaching and spouting. And the bright, welcoming personality of this one-bed, two-bath condo, which leaves guests blissfully relaxed every time.

Our remodeled condo offers an inviting master bedroom with a king-size bed, flat-screen television, and gorgeous ivory en-suite bath. There’s also a second full bath, which cuts out the wait for your satisfying post-beach shower. Wash off the sand before heading to an evening luau!
The aquamarine living room also includes a queen-size sofa bed, creating more space for additional friends (or the kids). If you want to prepare your own resort-style meal at home, the fully functional kitchen has everything you need. Grill fresh seafood on the shared community BBQ, then take it to your private lanai to enjoy with an impressive ocean vista before you.
In the morning, head to the on-site fitness center to get your day started, then pass the afternoon by the tropical pool and hot tub. Finish the day with a famous Hawaiian sunset while you walk the beach.

From your private balcony, you have views of the pool, palm tree groves, and, of course, the shimmering Pacific. Or get a closer view by walking right onto the sand. Just steps away from your condo, Waipu’ilani Beach is a spacious and scenic, with an “undiscovered” vibe. Enjoy a quiet afternoon alternating between dipping your toes in the water and digging them into the warm sand while you sunbathe.

We had a wonderful time at the Maui Sunset condos! Our unit was perfect. Beautiful view, very comfortable & all the amenities we needed! The outdoor area is well designed with lawns, bbqs, pool & jacuzzi, shuffleboard, a putting green & more. It is conveniently located in a great location. We will definitely stay at the Maui Sunset again!

I have stayed at the Maui Sunset since 1995. The Maui Sunset has always been a great property and a great location. I have stayed in over 18 units. I have found that all the units are very nicely decorated some better than others, but overall nice. This particular unit had nice furnishings and a nice view from the fifth floor. I enjoyed the electronic door lock, not having to keep up with a key, I was very partial to the redo of the guest bathroom a great choice in the tile work. It was nice to have an updated washer and dryer that actually worked. We always go out around five to watch the sunset. It was nice having the Tommy Bahama chairs instead of a towel it made the viewing more comfortable. Overall the unit was clean the air condition worked but on most occasions didn’t need it ,a nice appointed kitchen for those that need it, a new washer and dryer and a nice view from the fifth floor. I would definitely recommend this unit to myself and future renters. For those planning a trip and plan to eat out make sure you make reservations at the more nicer restaurants, due to the fires. Oversight on my part and we had to wait up to two hours to eat. FYI.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The place is beautiful to stay at, filled with all the amenities you need to cook and live here. King bed is very comfortable. If something is needed or missing just call Rentals Maui and they will fix or bring what you need asap. The view is beautiful from the balcony. We walked the beach south of Maui Sunset for an hour every morning. Saw large sea turtles on the beach. Sunset brings many many turtles up on the beach. So fun! There was live music Wednesdays on the lawn, it was great listening with a glass of wine on our balcony.We just rebooked for the spring for the same place, our third time in this unit. We love it here! Don't hesitate to book with Rentals Maui they are wonderful to work with! Thank you, Kathy, Cassandra and all the staff at Rentals Maui!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Sunset Maui is close enough to have options for food, shopping and entertainment yet away from most of the congestion of Kihei. The apartment and grounds were as advertised. The staff was very friendly and the public areas were all spotless. Some restaurants were walk-able, others required a short drive.

Over all The Maui Sunset is a great place to stay as it is centrally located, close and walking distance to many stores and restaurants. A509 has ants in the unit ( we bought ant killer, then noticed there was some under the sink, so possibly a reoccurring problem). The refrigerator gave us some trouble with not being cool enough - and there are explicit instructions on how to keep the refrigerator/freezer working. I think it’s hard when you own your timeshare to rent, but do not get there enough to see or fix the problems. Otherwise very clean and suited our group well.
