    • 3 bathroom
    • Sleeps 6

Kealia Landing House sits on a bluff overlooking wide, sandy Kealia Beach with panoramic, unforgettable views of Kauai's east coast extending ten miles to the Hoary Head Mountain range. From this wonderful cul-de-sac in an historic mill community, recreational possibilities abound!

Right below the house stroll through secluded beaches for miles on Kauai’s paved Ke Ala Hele Makalae pedestrian/bike path, named by USA Today as the 5th best recreational trail in the country. Two miles to the right leads you right into Old Kapaa Town, according to Forbes magazine one of the 15 Prettiest Towns in America.

Take this opportunity to get into a private home providing your family indoor space to move around while enjoying the outdoor lanais and lawn areas as well. Cook your own meals or enjoy takeout from nearby restaurants while supporting local businesses.

Reminiscent of designs by architect Richard Neutra, the house is a modernist, architectural delight. Floor-to-ceiling windows, ten-foot-high Honduras mahogany ceilings and warm stained concrete floors are just a few of the features of this modern, elegant and very private home.

Perfectly designed and furnished for three couples; enjoy viewing entertainment from your Netflix and Amazon Prime streaming accounts through the 80-inch flat screen TV. The home office has great views of the Pacific and a well-supplied Hawaiiana library housing many books on Kauai and the history of Kauai.

Sit on the lawn and enjoy spectacular breaches of seasonal whales. According to The Garden Island newspaper, in a Kauai yearly whale count the highest average number of whales in a 15-minute period were sighted just across Kealia Bay below the house.

In the evening delight in the refreshing trade winds as myriad seabirds, including Frigates, Boobies and even Albatrosses make their way past as they return to the Kilauea Lighthouse Bird Sanctuary. Enjoy spectacular sun and moon rises over the ocean as well as great views of surrounding landmarks Sleeping Giant Mountain, Kong Mountain and in clear weather the waterfalls of Mt. Waialeale, right from your door.

One wall of the first level great room is nearly all glass with breath taking views of the ocean. The second floor is a spacious master suite with platform bed and roomy private lanai overlooking the cobalt blue sea. On the first floor step out to the ocean side lanai with a built-in Honduras mahogany and granite topped picnic ...

Magnificent! When I first saw this listing, I thought it had to be too good to be true. Since the listing and reviews were so detailed and highly rated we took our chances and are so glad we did! The views are unbeatable! We wanted to explore both the south and north shores so staying on the east side was very convenient. We felt the Kapa'a and Kealia area had a laid back, local vibe. The house is stocked with great kitchen amenities and utensils, beach gear (chairs, towels, some sand toys, etc.) tons of books, cleaning supplies if needed. We prepared a lot of meals in the kitchen and on the grill. Everything worked well and the views from the patio table while you dine are better than most restaurants. We were a little nervous about some information we received about break ins in the area prior to our arrival, but we never had any problems. We never left a downstairs sliding door open unless we were occupying the room. There were pvc pipes to wedge into the sliding doors to secure them when closed. We armed the alarm whenever we left the house. There are some windows in the bathrooms that are higher up that could be cracked open at night to allow air circulation along with ceiling fans in the bedrooms. Bedroom doors also had locks on them. We really felt very safe throughout our visit. The beach itself is gorgeous, but very strong waves this time of year (Jan/Feb). The wave breaker helped some. The adults loved playing in the waves! We preferred some other beaches with our toddler aged kiddo. Just a few minor draws backs we encountered - As other reviews have stated, the trail down to the beach is very steep and slippery when wet. We only made the trek once. Mostly we drove down to the beach and paved trail. There was always plenty of parking at Kealia beach. Another drawback of this location were the people camping on the beach at night. Because of this I was actually glad the trail to the house was somewhat hidden and steep. A few times they set off fireworks which would have been cool except for a sleeping little one. People sleeping in the upstairs bedroom said they could hear loud music at times. One last thing to note is the 5:00 pm check in time. While this is clearly stated in the online listing, it was difficult with the timing of our flights to wait this long for check in. With a tired toddler our first hours in Kauai were rough. Overall we loved our stay and cherish the memories made at Kealia Landing House! Maholo!!!

Wonderful sunsets and sunrises every day. Yes, you get both from this location! Well appointed home has everything you need. Well maintained and clean. Consider that there is no AC and that stairs are quite steep.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful home and stunning views from lanai. Home does not have central air but cools down beautifully if you open it up. Trail to beach is steep but manageable if you don't haul alot of gear down. Loved having beach towels, umbrella, chairs and even a cooler available. We had a fantastic time !

On behalf of the “G” gang…..wow!! As an architect w/an affection for contemporary design, I love the use of the various materials and attention to details. Very well thought out floor plan which lended itself well to our party of six. We all enjoyed the nice amenities (surround sound iPod dock, multi disc CD, wireless Internet) & made good use of the BBQ grille. Thank you for sharing your home w/us!! BG and LG

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented this house for a getaway for just four of us. The house was very clean when we arrived and had so much space for us to spread out and relax. The openness of the floor plan was perfect. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes/pots/pans/utensils/etc - we didn't need anything extra. The home was beautiful. There were beach essentials included - beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and towels. We LOVED the view and being so close to the waves was so soothing. Things to be aware of (but aren't necessarily negatives) - there is no AC in this house and it can get hot and muggy. Opening the sliding glass doors with screens helps alleviate that, but it's possible that bugs get in. We had a few creepy crawlies when we got there, and I called management to help and they had the pest control guy come and spray an extra time - this took care of it. There is a trail down to the beach, but it is a bit precarious in places. We opted to drive over to the parking lot (a quick 2 minute drive) since we took all of our beach gear too. The neighbors are so friendly and have incredible recommendations on food that is not to miss! Overall, we loved this house and would recommend it to our friends. It was a fabulous way to experience Kauaii for the first time. The location is so central to explore the island easily, and there were some days that we just stayed and relaxed at home!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second stay in the Kealia Landing House and we found it to be as lovely and relaxing as the first time around. Our weather was spotty, so it was nice to be able to relax and watch the storms and surf from our perch on the hill. We arrived to find the internet not functioning, but when we notified the property manager the problem was quickly and professionally fixed. An excellent vacation home and management by KVR.
