Beachfront on the east shore of Kauai, Pono Kai Resort is a centrally located Kauai vacation rental with easy access to the North or South shores of Kauai. Approximately 8 miles from the Lihue Airport, Pono Kai Resort is located in the town of historic Kapa'a. Situated on 13 tropical acres. This Kauai oceanfront condo is within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, boutiques and banks. Swim right on the beach front of Pono Kai Resort or lounge pool side and enjoy the outdoor spa and sauna. Barbecue stations are located throughout the property along w/laundry facilities in each building.
The Pono Kai Resorts east side location makes it easy to get to Kilauea Lighthouse, Hanalei Bay and Haena State Beach Park to the north or Poipu Beach to the south. Nearby attractions in Kapaa include Kealia Beach, Lydgate State Beach Park for snorkeling, Kamalani Playground with a "volcano tube", Sleeping Giant Hiking Trail, Wailua Falls, Opaeka'a Falls and the Fern Grotto boat ride are just a sample of what's available on Kauai's eastern shores.
Beachfront at an affordable price makes this Kauai condo a fantastic value. Humpback whales breaching can be seen from your private lanai during the months of November through April or walk along the shores early morning and you may be the first to discover a glass ball.

This is our third time staying at Pono Kai and our first time staying in this unit. This unit was everything we could have wanted and more. It was big enough for our family of four and we loved having two bathrooms and A/C throughout the whole condo. The views of the ocean from the master bedroom and the patio were amazing. We loved staying here and can't wait to come back!

Loved the 2 bedroom 2 bath rental, our guest was able to have her own privacy including bathroom. The rental came with everything we needed to cook, beach, or just hangout on the patio enjoying the view, the only thing missing that you couldn’t control was more sunny days. We had a lovely Vacation here! Loved the ocean wave sounds all night!Shops very close by, Safeway 1 block away. Kitchen well stocked andvery easy. We enjoyed the cooler and beach chairs daily at beautiful beach right outside our hotel room. Will def stay again!

The condo was clean and well stocked with towels, kitchen implements and appliances. We were very happy with the property and the location.The people in the condo directly above us were very noisy. We could hear every footstep and raised voices.I would recommend this property to a friend and suggest they bring ear plugs.

We had a beautiful and wonderful time. Our rental was all it said and more! The sunrise and sunsets on the ocean were fantastic. The little roosters were very friendly LoL. But that was all part of the experience. Close enough to walk into town. And the sound of the waves really were soothing. This is where I plan to come back many times.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The home has a great layout with a large primary bedroom and good size second bedroom as well. The ocean views from the living room/kitchen and primary bedroom are wonderful. The walking trail was great as we used it almost every day. We were able to watch the sunrise over the ocean directly in front of our living room/lanai during our stay which we did every morning. A great quiet beach in your backyard a few steps to the left is what really makes this place special.

Our ocean front condo was just as described and we enjoyed the month of February there. It is well laid out, well furnished, clean and plenty of supplies were available. Pono Kai is large but was quiet. We loved being able to walk to restaurants and shops nearby. We walked the oceanside path every day--it goes for miles. The management company was very good, always a fast response, and the website made communication easy. I would highly recommend this unit.
