The perfect, peaceful getaway for those on a honeymoon or looking for a relaxing, romantic experience. This warm, welcoming, newly-built and finely crafted studio cottage provides modern comfort while retaining the spirit of old Hawaii. This mountain paradise is surrounded by native trees and a tropical garden. The Cottage at Ohia Place is situated in North Kona, at a cool 1600' elevation on Mount Hualala'i in Kaloko Mauka.

The cottage is in close proximity to Kailua Kona village, shopping, restaurants, beaches, activities, the harbor, hiking trails and upcountry golf courses. The airport is 15 minutes away. Your host, Gale, lives on the 1.5 acres shared with the Cottage.

The accommodation features open beam wood ceilings, ohia hardwood floors, mahogany and granite kitchen, brand-new queen -sized bed (with a Memory Foam topper), large slate shower, fully equipped kitchen and a lovely lanai that enhances the inside/outside lifestyle of Hawaii.

The cottage is 720 sq feet under roof, including the lanai.

Your host will provide you with details about the many island activities, tours, sight-seeing, beaches and cultural experiences as well as shopping and restaurants, all within an easy driving distance from your home.

Born and raised in Kona, the host's father was one of the founders of the sports fishing business in Kona in the early 50s; she and her family remain closely involved with the fishing community. She has spent her professional life welcoming guests and connecting them to the rich traditions of the islands. We love the island of Hawaii: the vastness, the colorful and unique local customs, the sunshine and sunsets of the Kona Coast, and the hunting and fishing traditions of the Big Island.

A vintage picnic basket is available for your pleasure. If you're headed out to explore the island. You are welcome to use a cold bag for shopping, cooler, beach chairs and towels.

Fabulous cottage getaway tucked on the hillside overlooking Kona. Easy access to outdoor activities, with solitude and comfort awaiting at the cottage at the end of the day. Gorgeous property, well stocked kitchen, comfy bed and a wonderful host.

My husband and I had the most incredible vacation in the cottage. The property was absolutely breathtaking - It was like having our own paradise. From the moment we arrived, we were in awe of the stunning views and the beautifully landscaped gardens. The interior of the cottage was just as impressive, with high end furnishings, and all the amenities we could have possible needed. It was clear that no expenses had been spared in creating this luxurious and comfortable space. We loved spending time outside, lounging on the lanai and taking in the gorgeous sunsets. The location of the cottage was also perfect - it was situated in a quiet neighborhood just a short drive up the mountain and in close proximity to some of the best beaches, restaurants, and attractions on the island. We loved exploring the area and taking in all the natural beauty that Hawaii has to offer. Perhaps the best part of our stay, though, was the exceptional hospitality we received from the cottage owner (Gale). She was incredibly accommodating, and she went above an beyond to ensure that our stay was comfortable and stress-free. The fresh baked banana bread and basket of fruit upon our arrival was such a nice added touch. Overall, our experience at the cottage was nothing short of amazing, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quaint and unforgettable vacation. We loved our ten days of bliss. The back porch gave us a lovely setting for drinking 100% Kona Coffee and eating her homemade banana bread! Our hostess was gracious and made us feel very wecomed. She gave us very valuable information. She always steered us with her truth. Very comfy bed and the accommodations were well thought out. Attention was given to the smallest detail. Thank you Gale Allen for your kindness and sharing your cottage with us.

This was a beautiful well appointed and decorated cottage. Gale our host was exceptional offering homemade banana bread and asst fruits. She had suggestions to our questions about the area and offered assistance should we need at any time. The property is filled with gorgeous plants and even had geckos, tree frogs and lots of birds. All activities are a short drive away. Gale has thought of everything you might need for living at the cottage, even beach towels a cooler and chairs if headed to the beach! I highly recommend this property! Thank you Gale!!
