The unit and most everything in it is old. A good modernization would make the property much more appealing. Location is great, view is as advertised.

The ocean view was good as advertised, and the property was kept up well and clean.

Kona reef is a small older condo but very well taken care of and maintained. The pool area is nice and has a family feel. The ocean and beach are steps away. Old town Kona is a short walk as well though on a busy road.

The only thing this place has going for it is the location. When we arrived the tv was on. The remote was not working. We messaged the host. The next morning while we were out maintenance man let himself in to fix the remote. When we returned the tv was on. Remote still not working. We called host again. Maintenance came again and replaced the batteries then he left. Remote still not working. Called maintenance. When he returned he was talking to the host on phone. I could overhear their conversation. They were blaming it on user error. I handed the remote to maintenance and asked him to show me how it works. It wasn’t working! Finally he replaced the remote. The next morning cable repair showed up without warning because the Wi-Fi was so slow they had to replace cables. This place was a disappointment. The air conditioner smells of cigarette smoke and mold. The couch smells like urine. The bathroom tub is disgusting. Bathroom Sheetrock has holes in it. The bathroom windows are rusted shut. The refrigerator is old and rusty. Washer and dryer are rusty. Drapes, linens and towels are old and outdated. We had friends staying in other units and theirs were so nice compared to this unit. We will not be back here ever.

The location of the property is perfect. The two air conditioners were welcome. The grounds and the parking are great. We will be back soon!

This Kona Reef apartment was a great choice for our stay. It was within walking distance of town; the pool and courtyard area were well-maintained and quiet at night. The BBQs were cleaned daily. Our unit had 2 ACs, which would be great during warmer weather. The unit itself is a bit dated and worn, but it was clean and comfortable. All early communication was good, but upon arrival and struggling a bit with the keypad entry (low lighting), I called the manager, and he was quite rude. My family even heard him speaking to me through the phone and were shocked by how he was addressing the problem. I was polite and didn't bother him again. Really, that is my only complaint. There is good parking here as well and I would return.

The property was great. We assumed that because there was elevators that there was wheelchair access. Watching and hearing the waves, whales, boats, surfers from our deck was wonderful. Close to the center of everything was wonderful. In all we enjoyed our visit very much

Clean, quiet and the perfect place for viewing a beautiful sunset right from the lanai. Great pool, great hot tub and excellent grilling area with family or friends.
Great place just to lay your head if you’re not there as well. We explored everyday from morning till dinner. Highly recommend!
