This was my second VRBO stay in Kona in two months. I thought the convenience of staying within walking distance of restaurants would outweigh the loss of square footage and additional cost. But it didn’t. I had to text the owner the night before to get check-in and parking instructions; never received anything from the property manager. This unit was clean, but small. More like a studio vice one bedroom as the separation was a sliding partition. Wall unit A/C was sufficient. Windows were the old jalousie crank style which provided no barrier to the street noise. There was no compendium to indicate what the wifi password was or what check out instructions were. Probably a great unit for the younger crowd but for those of us in the 55+ age group, something south of Kahalu’u Beach Park might be better.
Great view, central and great property. Building and kept up well.
Every condo I have stayed in has pros and cons. Here are the pros...killer view, comfortable bed, big TV, walking distance to Kona. Here are the cons...noisy, the pool is barely a puddle (used it only once), and the kitchen and utensils are old and cruddy. It's clear the owner doesn't do much cooking. I would suggest throwing out all the pots and utensils and starting over with decent, clean stuff.
Unit was clean and accommodated my family nicely! Host is gracious and accommodated our late check out time for a small fee! All in all we had a nice, quiet and comfortable stay.
