Really, really lovely stay. Being so close to the ocean was awesome, and sleeping to the sound of the waves and ocean breezes was idyllic. Condo was clean and beds were comfortable. Mark was a very responsive host. The only drawbacks (and this isn’t so terrible), but the lanai furniture was uncomfortable, and a grill would’ve been nice. But we would definitely stay there again.
This unit couldn't be more ideally situated - an easy 20min stroll into Kona, for dining and shopping opportunities. Easy access to main roads for North/South travel, and only a few minutes away from some decent beaches (Magic Sands, etc). The owner was very accommodating when we requested an early check-in, which we appreciated. Mahalo!!
Located within easy walking distance from town (assuming you ever decide that you want to leave the lanai), Mark's place was the perfect choice for our family. We appreciated the amenities (including snorkeling gear), the renovated bathrooms and the nearly new appliances. We can't wait to return!
Mark's property is not only ON the ocean, but the location is perfect! Close to nightlight, restaurants, amenities, and road to the rest of the island! If given the chance, will stay here again! Mahalo Mark!
Loved, loved, loved the lanai and the location. Convenient to everything. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
The lanai overlooking the ocean was awesome. The property is otherwise aging and showing the signs of getting older. Several repair items were brought to the attention of the owner, to which he immediately responded that he would take care of our concerns. If you are older and have difficulty managing stairs with heavy luggage, this is not the property for you.Bed was not very comfortable, and when I changed the sheets, I noted a foam rubber pad beneath the mattress pad. I believe a new mattress is in order. Bedspread was stained, porch furniture is falling apart. Bugs in light fixture above dining table not very appealing.Fortunately, all appliances / washer / dryer all in good working order. Appreciate that laundry soap etc. was there and available for use.I am confident that the owner will take care of my concerns, he seemed very responsive.
Excellent! After 37 years coming to the island, this was the best place to stay. A couple of things: up stairs TV was stuck on max volume. No worry for us as we didn’t use. Parking a bit tight for small suv. Hot pot and toaster on the Fritz. Again, not a problem for us. Kuerig coffee maker nice touch. Linai chair has broken foot.
Loved the view and location! Bed was comfortable and bathrooms are nice. My biggest issue was having to clean up ants (maybe termites as they left a mess on the counter) everyday even though we made sure to clean and put away food properly. Not something you want to deal with on vacation and needs to be addressed.
We rented the place because the website photos showed a grill. There was no grill when we arrived, that was a HUGE disappointment.
Not a lot of kitchen prep accessories
If you eat out a lot that shouldn't be a problem.
Major appliances were nice.
Great stay. The condo was exactly as described. Very spacious and spotless. The queen bed in the master was lovely. The large walk in shower delightful. The views from both lanais was breathtaking. Mark was super responsive. We extended our stay by 3 days and the entire process was handled by Mark in just a few minutes. We especially loved the space. The condo is very spacious. This is a three unit building so not part of a big condo complex. Parking was right in front of the building. Lots of privacy and great views. There are plenty of dishes, silverware, glasses and cups. A drip coffee maker and a Kuerig. Plenty of beach towels, chairs, dive masks and snorkels. Looked to be brand new fullsize Maytag washer and driver. Everything we needed. The wave action on the rocks directly in front was a little louder than expected, but beautiful nonetheless. About 1 mile to restaurants and shopping. Great stay.

This place is 100% about staying on the water! The view is amazing and can’t be beat. It’s an older place that had been updated with love. The unfortunate issue with the ants is something you’ll find all over the island and the owner is working on the issue.
Our family came to Kona for the first time and enjoyed every minute of it! This condo had the best location…close to everything. But the biggest selling point is the view! Beautiful! We sat out there every morning and evening!
Beautiful view of the ocean. The beds were comfortable and I loved that the second bedroom had twin beds.
This ocean side unit is a bit old but has a renovated interior that is very functional. The view is incredible, ocean waves and breeze. Easy walk to town and restaurants. Fronting street can be busy but ocean noise usually cancels the street sound and most drivers will yield when you are exiting the property.
We came to bike ride. Great weather, friendly people, lots of scrumptious poke!
We've rented more than 25 VRBO properties in Kona in 21 years, and this is one of the hilight ones for sure. Morning coffee and evening wine on the two lanai, watching whales and a great sunset, it's a place we would rent again for sure!
We LOVED staying at this property. We saw whale spouts, tails, pectoral fins and breaches from the lanai! Next time I will bring a telephoto lens. Fortunately Binoculars brought whales closer. We were mesmerized by the crashing waves, spotting Yellow Tang and other fish in the surf. We did close the glass patio doors, though, so we could sleep.
The shower was fantastic.
The washer and dryer were a wonderful luxury.
My brother and sister-in-law joined us here for some meals and whale-watching. They stayed in a nearby hotel.
The decor was tasteful, the bed we used and the furniture are comfortable.
The parking is tight. We are glad we had a small SUV.
The art gallery on ground level is delightful. Enjoyed meeting the artist.
A wonderful stay overall, in January of the year we celebrate our 50th Anniversary.
We loved this place. The ocean view was great. We spent a lot of time watching the waves crashing on the lava rocks. It was equipped with everything we needed for cooking and all the equipment needed for a day at the beach. The closest beach was a very easy walk. And the restaurants and tourist area was just a little farther.
We loved this condo and cannot say enough good things. The condo was stocked with regular household needs which cut down on expenses but also thoughtful things like beach chairs, coolers and snorkel gear. The bathrooms, washer dryer and flooring were all updated and which made the feel so luxurious! I saw past reviews about insects and was initially worried but as long as you kept things clean it was good. The only knock was parking which was tight but that’s typical Hawaii. The location was glorious. OMG! Quick walk to the beach, and then a close walk to downtown Kona. The condo was the nearest to the ocean we have ever stayed and so very peaceful with the constant breeze and soothing sound. The double balcony was amazing! We got to see spinner dolphins come so close and put on quite a show. We can't wait to stay there again!!
This property is close to a lot of the action, bars, restaurants, shopping. Also, what an awesome view! Good communication with owner. Just a tight fit for parking.
We had a great time staying here on our tour of the big island!
The house was on the ocean and has a beautiful ocean view. However, the house has bug everywhere, particularly kitchen cabinets. The bug climbed in my phone and clothes. The owner needs to deep clean the house. Won’t recommend to others.
The location of this property is amazing - you couldn't get a better view of the ocean and the sunsets were unreal from either lanai. It was well-stocked with everything we needed, and I still have moments of zen thinking about sleeping with the door open to the master and hearing the waves. The second bedroom is on the smaller side but had it's own air conditioner and the beds were comfortable. The parking, as described, was tight if you have a bigger vehicle, but we backed in an it wasn't an issue. The location is the reason to book this property and you won't be disappointed. We walked to town a couple of times, and loved all of the restaurants and shops. Every place we ate had an amazing view of the ocean. We highly recommend Hapuna Beach, one of the harder to find sandy beaches, and taking a snorkeling boat trip and SUP. I would love to go back again. We love Maui, but the Big Island was such a treat.
