The condo is in a great location, very central to all activities the island has to offer. The unit is outdated and lacks some general necessities like a cutting board and no laundry soap. The sheets in the master bedroom were stained and the 2nd bedroom smelled like urine. The smell seemed to come from one of the twin beds in the room. This unit is bare bones at best and was just okay.
Loved the view and it was right on the beach. We enjoyed the poolside games and herb garden. Property was quiet and relaxing.

Rental unit was clean, beds good, not the best equipped kitchen as we like to do a lot of cooking when we are there. Bbq grills were great, maintenance very responsive to our needs. Unit kitchen was very dated with older appliances, counters and cabinets. Showers only had curtains which billowed everywhere. Wish the pool opened before 8! Unit had 3 ac wall units able to cool quickly on the hot days when needed.We have stayed at Sunset many times and will do it again.
Our family stayed 10 wonderful days at the beginning of April. We enjoyed the pool/hot tub and tennis courts. There are several additional amenities available on the property including shuffle board and bocce. The grass area in front of the condos is great for exercise and play. The beach right in front is a little rocky but a short walk south provides nice sand. There is a nice reef break so you hear some waves and we saw some whales from our lanai. Sunsets were a must for us and our view from the condo didn't disappoint. The condo itself is a bit dated inside with painted old cabinets , carpet needing a stretch here and there but a newer refrigerator and dishwasher, plus what appeared to be newly tiled bath floors/showers were nice updates. The stacked washer/dryer came in handy and there are beach chairs and a cooler for use in the guest bed closet. Location is great as it is simple to Uber to any of the Kihei or Wailea area beaches for $6-8 each way if you don't want to rent a car. Walking distance to stores if you don't plan to carry too much back with you. There are BBQ grilles located in the middle courtyard but we found only 2 would stay lit the whole time due to wind blowing out the fire on the other 4. This was frustrating for several of the people we interfaced with during a busy dinner grilling experience on multiple nights. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would want to do it again.

There was two adults and three kids in our group and there was plenty of room. Place was clean and we felt right at home. They provided boogie boards and snorkle gear (for one). The gym was small with no windows but the equipment was in good shape and fine for a quick workout. Tennis rackets/balls and shuffle board equipment is provided and kept the kids entertained. The BBQ area was nice and not crowded. Grocery store is close by ($6 Uber). The beach at Maui Sunset is rocky in the water but nice. It's just a short trip (10-30 minutes) to lots of other really nice beaches more south and about 30-40 minutes to Kanaapali or Paia. The host was very responsive. We had an issue with ants and they sent someone the next day.

We had a great time! Check in was super easy. Condo had everything we needed. It was so nice to have the beach chairs and towels available. I would say the only thing the housekeeping missed was the patio furniture was dirty so we had to wipe it down before using! Overall I would come again! Also, super easy to get to airport.

Unfortunately, the unit was in a terrible condition. The kitchen walls were dirty and food stained. Once we had the ants under control, washed the walls and floor daily, it was a little better. The liner curtains were torn, ripped and soiled. The carpet was stained and rippled so badly we were concerned that we might trip and fall. Dust covered every surface, especially the rattan furniture. Worn furniture can be expected in a rental. However dusty and soiled is not acceptable. As I said: once we got the ants under control the kitchen was better...This was our 7 th stay at the Maui Sunset. We sincerely hope the units will be in better shape the next time.

Very convenient location. The expansive and well-kept grounds and amenities added to a sense of relaxation. the top-floor unit offered great views, and was well-designed for large family. Staff were accommodating. Would consider renting in same building again.
We arrived after hours and received the key to the condo.
The condo was below our cleanliness standards. Bugs in the bathroom and kitchen, sand on the couch and a diaper behind one of the cushions of the couch. The counter the kitchen was dirty, stains on the floor, due to the uncleanness we left and found another place to stay for our time in Maui. The view was very nice. The management was unconcerned.
