Fantastic!!!!! The checking in process was very easy. The staff was friendly and answered all of our questions. The condo was clean and neat. The kitchen had all of the utensils etc that we needed. And the best part of the experience was that the beach was right outside of deck with a completely unobstructed view of the ocean!
We found it noisy due to possible low insulation and surf lesson instructions outside our lanai at 8 am. Noise from upstairs tenants was bothersome. Lanai railing was at eye level unfortunately and faced west which was hot.
We love PoiPu and always stay at the Kiahuna Plantation. It's a beautiful property with barbeques and a pool. Also close to shopping and good restaurants.
The Kiahuna Plantation did not disappoint. We have been here three times now, and it has been amazing each and every time. The location is just so amazing. Definitely will be coming back. Mahalo.
We loved staying in Kiahuna plantation!!! Right on the beach- and the grand lawn was stellar! Nice having the Sheraton next door. Conveniently located to everything!
Should note that there is no AC- the breeze though greatly mitigated that- the place had such a safe, family vibe- that we left the doors open most of the time.
Only recommendation is to do a cull of the kitchen ware, lots of redundant, utensils.

Our stay was nothing short of magical, situated directly on the beach, offering front-row seats to surfing lessons right from the deck. Mornings were a delight, with captivating views of surfers amidst the ocean's rhythm, making it a serene spot to embrace the day.
The unit itself was a haven of comfort, blending seamlessly with the coastal vibe. Its open spaces welcomed the ocean breeze, enriching our stay with the scent of salt and adventure. The attention to detail by our hosts, from their local recommendations to their prompt communication, added a layer of warmth to our experience.
This place is a rare find for those drawn to the tranquility of the sea and the thrill of beach life. It offered us a perfect balance of relaxation and excitement, leaving us with memories we'll treasure and a longing to return. Truly, a beachfront bliss that elevates your vacation to an extraordinary experience.
We have never been able to stay this close to the ocean, it was amazing having it maybe 10 feet away. The unit is set up with louvered windows front and rear that allow the breeze and sound of the ocean to flow through 24/7 if you desire.
The development is not new, but is well cared for, with manicured mature landscaping. The condo has a few small defects that are more than outweighed by the thoughtful touches.
We were sad to leave , and will return again when we visit Kauai.
We selected this unit based on its VRBO photos and description, specifically for the lanai, (20 feet to the beach, as still stated in the description as of 12/30/23), palm trees and beautiful grass area bordered by manicured hedges leading directly to the beach; as well as a stunning, unobstructed view of the ocean from the lanai/grass. That is what was shown in the photos- At one time it was absolutely gorgeous.
We arrived to find that NOTHING in the exterior photos remained.
Following conveying our disbelief of the actual property condition to the hosts, a comment was added about the fence/railing and photos were updated to reflect what we actually arrived to find:
NO GRASS AREA or hedges- those have been washed into the ocean and "20 feet to the beach" does not exist anymore.
NO PALM TREES, as both have been cut down and only their stumps remain.
NO UNOBSTRUCTED LANAI VIEW
NO ACCESS TO THE BEACH from the lanai
A fence is now in place, obstructing the ocean view when seated on the lanai, and blocks beach access. A look at other negative reviews revealed that the host knew the photos were inaccurate-see host Jeff's reply to Scott F. "We are having new photos taken as we don’t ever want anyone to ever accuse us of false advertising..." Additionally we shared the unit with rodents since an alternate beach unit was not available. Picking up droppings each morning was another disheartening part of our stay as we were against the glue traps we were offered.
The lanai is ten feet from the ocean at high tide. We enjoyed dining on the lanai, watching surf school right off the balcony and of course the amazing sunsets. We appreciated the little touches that the owners added to the condo like providing a cooler and laundry basket for us to use. BTW although there is no washer or dryer in the unit, the complex does have a guest laundry facility. It's $3 for basic washing and $3 for 45 minutes of drying. The machines accept credit cards but not quarters. There is no air-conditioning in the unit but falling asleep to the sound of the ocean is the best. I would definitely stay here again.
Loved hearing and watching the waves, the are literally right out the door. This makes the stay!! Plan to travel light, there is very little space to store your things—a small bureau with a bottom drawer that falls out, and a bit of hanging space. Store your luggage in the living room because bottom of closet already houses lots of stuff. But who cares?! The view and sounds are unbeatable. Would most definitely stay here again and again.
