The room was gorgeously decorated and had everything we needed for our stay. The large fridge was a plus! The owner of the unit clearly cares and accurately described the unit and fees associated so we still feel it was a 5 star stay, but there were a bunch of issues with the resort. They didn't want to let us check in until 4 pm even after I showed them email stating checkin was 3pm. The resort is very secluded and during morning hours, plan to only make a right turn out. The Outrigger had a ton of maintenence issues that were apparently ALL being addressed during our visit. The pool deck was being jackhammered and waterfalls off the one day we were hoping to enjoy them. The bar/grill was rarely open (told it was closed for weather). There is no lounge or bar in the resort anymore. So really overpriced breakfast or dinner at the one restaurant there where we were unable to get a table. No laundry available to guests even though we were told there was.
The hotel property is very well kept. The updated room with ocean view was a plus. The property has so much to offer and the location is prime to head North or South each day to experience all the beaches and island has to offer. It would be nice if one complimentary cleaning is the room was Included during the stay. Our 9 days was enjoyable and that’s the only item I felt was lacking. We look forward to returning to Kauai.
Property was as described in listing. The deck area was a little dirty with bird action, but manageable. Great location and great access to facilities. Would stay here again for sure!
Room had everything we needed and the sunrise view every morning was fantastic! Loved the pools and resort amenities. Having a great walking beach directly accessible from the nicely maintained property was a huge bonus. Great central location to take day trips from and see every part of the island.
Nice ocean view and clean room. The bed was comfortable, the larger refrigerator was appreciated, the key/wristbands were convenient, the telescoping shutters on the sliding lanai doors added privacy, and the large beach towels in addition to the bath towels were appreciated. This was our 4th trip to Kauai and second to this property and the amount of garbage and homeless individuals on the beach all the way north past the golf course was disgusting! It was heartbreaking to see! improvements to the room could include: garbage disposal service, a fan in the bathroom, an ice bucket
This property is privately owed and slightly separate from the Outrigger Resort. While it is on the same property, it only runs through the resort. There is full access to the amenities offered at the resort but the resort doesn’t allow cooking in the apartments. So there isn’t anything to cook with, not even a microwave in the room. There is a microwave on the 5th floor lobby that guests can use but that’s it. Guests can pay 30/meal at the buffet inside the resort. The property is beautiful with many options for those with kiddos or just as couples. Have it less than 5 star only due the listing isn’t clear on no cooking or microwaving in the room. Would rent again
Check in was easy and quick. Room was as described and was great for a quick trip for the holidays. Having to pay extra for parking was annoying and on late evenings there was no parking spaces available, but the valet service was so accommodating and helpful with parking our car at no extra charge. That made the parking fee worth it. Would definitely book again.
Everything was as mentioned. The grounds are amazing. There is a sandy area along the beach, but not swimmable. Resort is within 30 minutes of Northside as well as Westside.
We had a wonderful stay at the Kauai Beach club! The property is beautiful. The view from our room (VRBO booked) was more than we could hope for! There are areas that could use a bit of cosmetic updating but that is the case at any island resort due to the climate conditions. The resort itself is warm, welcoming and very clean. Every staff member we encountered could not have been more kind or helpful. Amanda at the pool bar took great care of us during one of our pool days.
The food was excellent and the Starbuck's/gift shop had about anything you may need and the staff there were amazing; they gave us many suggestions for places to go around the island.
We definitely plan to be back to this resort one day!
All was as described in the listing. The room photo is spot on. We ate a couple of times on the property. The food was good
Parking is $35 a day. Self park is right there
Checkout is at 10 am. Took a few tries to find where to dump our garbage
Wonderful view, one of the best we've experienced in our 15+ stays on site.
Room was clean, bed was comfortable, and location of room is a short walk to sunrise on beach and the Driftwood Bar.

The outrigger resort is great but don’t get a third situation go straight to the resort…they treating you like a third class citizen…
We selected this particular VBRO unit (not managed by hotel) due to its top floor Ocean View and it met all of our expectations. Unit was as described, it was clean and had good amenities. Property (Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort and Spa) was a very nice Resort with four pools, two spa's, restaurant, Poolside Bar/Grill, though dated compared to some of the newer, upscale resorts.
Great location on the island and awesome access to the Outrigger resort amenities. Perfect for our honeymoon.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Kauia Beach resort, room 330. The room was nicely furnished and we loved our balcony overlooking the pool area and ocean. The grounds were beautifully manicured and the pool and hot tub area was amazing. Even though the beach wasn't called a swimming beach, we found it lovely for a stroll along the beach! However, I wished we would have had more towels allotted for a seven night stay.
It's a great place to stay. Amazing view from the room. The room was great. No complaints there. The resort could use a renovation. The roof leaked bad in the hallways when it rained. Lot of broken tiles around the pool.
This property was just as described however, the view from the room is unimaginable! Best ocean view room ive ever booked for a vacation. The description just doesnt give the view enough justice. Would definitely book with this owner and this specific property! Thank you- amazing trip we had and thank you for the use of chairs, noodles and cooler!
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. The room was fairly basic but the resort was quite lovely and we enjoyed the mile of walkable beach. The location was perfect, just outside of Kappa’a which we loved and not too far from either coasts!
We really enjoyed the resort and the island
Centrally locaded. Short walk to sandy beach
Overall the stay was nice- beautiful view, great location on the resort.
We ran short on toilet paper and kleenex fairly quickly but Steve had some delivered by the end of the day. We wished the fridge was a little bigger but we made due.
There were a few maintenance issues that we made Steve aware of. Hopefully he gets the lamps and door knob fixed before the next renter comes in.
We would stay again.
The room is o.k. carpet needs to be cleaned on a regular basis. T.v. choices were random.
Beautiful place and quite restful.
The location was great relative to the Lihue Airport, we had a long 6-hour flight and to have an early approved check-in was a plus. The owner of this unit was communicative, everything was advertised, and some additional features like a boogie board and beach chairs were another pluses. I enjoyed this place, the front desk folks were very nice.
It is mediocre room in an average resort. But if convenience or privacy is around top of your list, it is better to steer clear of this place for a couple of reasons.
1- The unit is privately owned which it basically means you are renting out a standard room in a hotel from an individual and the staff won’t have anything to do with you. So there is no room, trash, or towel services (out of TP? someone will bring it in a couple of hours), no room change or upgrade, and the cleaning standards are subpar (for example, there was something like a black mold all over shower curtain).
2- There is a crowded pool right in front of the unit with the ocean in the background. So if you plan to enjoy unfettered ocean views in quiet from your room, forget about it.
And the worst part is these were not clear to me from the listing, and we were unpleasantly surprised upon arrival. and had to change places midstay to salvage our trip.
I also blame Expedia for mixing up the listings without making it clear in descriptions. And I would be very careful about what I am getting into if I use Expeida again.
The resort is very nice, and if the listing were more clear ths wold deserve 5-star review. I gave feedback to VRBO owner that they might update listing, to ensure folks know what they are getting. If you are a couple and want a nice hotel room with a great view, at a nice resort, this is perfect. If you are a family of 3 and expect a 1 bedroom condo (as it is categorized), and then find out there is no bed for 3rd person and a rollaway is an extra $50/night, you might be frustrated. On top of that, via msg a week out, was promised a rollaway would be in room, but after arrival told they would "try" to get one in room the next day, but they put an air mattress in the closet. After manually blowing up the air mattress, threw it on floor. The next day, they texted and said they still didn't have rollaway. 5 days of sleeping on floor, at a resort, not what we expected. Again, change listing so you know you are getting a hotel room, not a 1 bedroom condo, and people will likely rate it 5-stars. BTW, no microwave, and small dorm stylee fridge. Again, not end of world, just know that is what you are getting.
