Had to call owner to get check in instructions but after that all was great
We had a great time staying here. The unit was very clean and comfortable. This is our 4th time staying at Kamaole sands, as the location is minutes within walking distance to beaches and shops.
Well socked and maintained, clean and comfortable condo. The back bedroom gets a bit warm so put the fan in the hallway. The days we were there was very windy and could not hang out at the beach. We ended up going to the other side.

The landscaping of the condo, grounds and pool area was very well kept, clean and beautiful to look at. The pool, which is part of the condos main view, is very well attended too, lounge chairs, umbrellas and the pool itself (water) was cleaned daily. (It can be loud in the evenings if you have the patio door open, but quiet hours starting at 10pm were enforced). As for the location, it’s a short easy walk to Kam 3 beach, perfect for kids and lounging, life guard and park with large grass area. 3 nice backpack chairs and coolers are provided by the host. Other beaches Kam 1 & 2 are both nice, but a litte longer walk. Also 3 restaurants are within 10 min walk. The unit itself was clean, if you look real close you’ll find some dusty drawers, probably just unused. Cooking utensils, pots and pans etc. is not extensive but we cook with mainly a skillet so it was fine. The main knock for us, is if you sleep with windows open and fans on it can be very loud because people arrive pretty late into the evening. With the windows closed the front room AC doesn’t quite do the job, wished there was a bedroom ac unit. The host were very responsive, we had two small issues that got taken care of right away.
Kamaole Sands is a wonderful property to stay. We return there with every trip and are always happy with the care of the grounds, pool and amenities. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our condo was very comfortable, exactly what we were looking for and we were extremely happy with the location, cleanliness, and supplies in the condo. Judy was amazing and helpful, checking we had everything we needed for a great stay in her condo. We will definitely stay here again!
Our 10 night stay did not disappoint! The condo is exactly as the pictures showed, and by the end of our stay, it felt like home. A comfortable base to come back to after our excursions, especially the king size bed in the bedroom. All the appliances were handy and worked well. The grounds, bbq and pool areas are pristine, and the staff at the front desk was so friendly and helpful! Loved to sit on our lanai for coffees and meals, and enjoyed the live music at the pool on Wednesdays. The quick walk to the beautiful Kam 1 & 2 beaches for snorkelling and sunset was perfect, and as advertised, we could see the ocean from our lanai. There were even beach chairs and an umbrella/ beach towels for us to use for the duration of our stay. Very charming Polynesian decor really gave us a “Hawaii” vibe! Our two teens easily shared the pull-out couch, but maybe 2 adults wouldn’t find it as appealing, that is the only negative I can think of. Judy, our host, was easy to communicate with and very responsive. A previous reviewer mentioned insects, but I did not see any, except for maybe outside, where one would expect to see them in a tropical locale! We loved our stay!
The place was awesome clean and convenient. Love that the beach was right across the street. The view was amazing. Great place to stay.
We had an amazing stay at Kamole Sands. The condo was very well kept and had everything you need. The property was well maintained and had great views from the lanai of the gardens and pool. We also had ocean view from the lanai. Condo was equipped with beach chairs, umbrella and towels. Elevators were also close by for move-in / out and grocery days which was good to have. Judy was very welcoming and communicated very well. The location I found was great and central to most of what we needed. Staff was very friendly. Definitely want to come back.
We really loved the location of this condo and it had everything we needed (except boogie boards and a fourth chair but we were able to rent them at the pool). The owner was great to deal with and was very responsive. Some may not prefer to look over the pool but we really enjoyed sitting on the lanai and seeing the grounds and pool. The condo could use some updates (bathrooms) but overall that did not affect the wonderful time we had in this condo!
There were bugs in the condo. Complained and the place was sprayed for bugs. Lasted 2 days and bugs were back. Spent the rest of the time spraying and and roach spray every night.
At first glance we thought the place was clean, but soon learned it was infested with cockroaches. We were initially going to let it go, but then noticed every dish we took out had old food on it (or dead roaches inside bowls), and roaches were constantly crawling everywhere, even dropping from cabinets when we opened them. We felt nauseated and couldn’t even sit down and relax on the dingy old uninviting furnishings during our stay. We kept all of our food and trash contained and even had to stored drinking glasses and silverware in the fridge for our safety. I sent many pictures and videos to the owner and she chose to attach blame on us for not letting her know sooner. No apologies. She said there would have been things she could have done, but she had five of our remaining days to prove this and was not able to. Her resolution was to send a housekeeper to set two traps (pieces of paper) which did nothing! I sent her a video of a roach approaching the “trap” and then walking the other direction! She told me pest control was scheduled to come on the Monday of our stay, but that did not happen and she did not communicate the change of plans with me. She offered no cleaning corrections when I made her aware of the need. She said she did all she could do and offered no other resolution. Other issues: Roosters waking you up every 15 minutes beginning at 3am; cold showers after less than five minutes, many non-working outlets. So much more, but character limit prevents me. Run!
We loved our stay at Kamaole Sands. The location can't be beat. The furnishings are nice and the bed was very comfortable. The lanai offers views of the ocean and sunsets. Great water pressure. Owners were great to deal with. We would love to stay here again!
We stayed at Judy and Bob’s condo for Christmas and New Years vacation and it was an amazing time! The condo was clean and fully stocked with everything that you need. The lanai overlooked the pool and the grounds and it was nice to start off our day with breakfast in the sun.
The owners provided beach chairs, an umbrella, and a cooler. Everything you need for the beach! It was a less then 10 minute walk to KAM3 beach which had great snorkeling to the right and a fantastic swimming area with a smooth sandy bottom in the middle of the beach. We saw a momma whale and her baby very close to shore and several sea turtles surfing in the waves right next to us!
The condo grounds were well taken care of and the staff was very helpful with anything that you need. It was great to be able to use the gas grills and picnic tables to have dinner at night.
Judy and Bob came up and met us with Mai Tai’s in hand and we got to get to know them for a bit. Such as sweet couple!
We highly recommend their condo for a couple or family vacation!
The A/C is in the living room and the bedroom is down a long hallway away from the living room. It was impossible to keep the bedroom cool even with the fans they provided. The hideaway bed is not good for anyone but a small kid maybe. We put the mattress on the floor and that worked better. The pool and hot tub area was nice if you are ok with lots of rules and the area being policed all day by employees. Overall we were not too happy because of the A/C and the pool management. The host was very nice and I hope they take our suggestion and add an A/C unit in the bedroom.
